Might not be used that often but it would be great to have. It's amazing what features we'll take for granted once they've been around for a few generations.

I like the fact that Apple keeps pushing new features into the camera, even though I don't use the iPhone's camera all that often.

I still think a good P&S camera takes better pictures, so why do I like them doing this?

Because, it is forcing P&S camera manufactures to innovate and come up with new features, such as smile detection, blink detection, built-in slow motion, pet modes, built-in panoramic stitching, built-in special effects.

Do these sound familiar? Yes, Apple has either added these or will be adding many of these features. But bottom line is the P&S cameras did it first, so if Apple adds these features, what will the camera manufactures come up with next?

This is exactly how innovation should be working, each company/industry pushing the other to move forward instead of filing lawsuits and causing companies to go bankrupt, etc.

A specific implementation of those same features is worth protecting. If a company is using someone else's IP, then a suit is in order. If a company's business model is based on "free" usage of someone else's IP, then perhaps that company's business model is unsustainable, and bankruptcy results.

No one forced him to the size of the Note 2. He chose that. Imagine that. Choices to suit your own needs.

Choice isn't bad until you decide to insult/annoy others if their choice is different from yours. Do two wrongs make a right? Nope. But it's oddly satisfying.

+ this is a Internet chat board, what fun would it be without trolls and flaming?

What I want from the iPhone 5S:

Thumbprint scanner enabled NFC

32 - 64 - 128 GB storage options at the current price points

Sapphire crystal screen ( I realize that one is unlikely, but I'd still like it)

Internal hardware upgrades

NFC won't be coming, Apple decided to go against it with Airplay. The storage seems the most likely, although id rather have it on the iPad.

Only problem with this is you definitely need a lot more space. 16 GB is just NOT enough room for everything anymore even on the iPhone 5.

If anything, this is when they should make 32 GB the minimum for the 5S. Keep the cheaper iPhone at 8/16/32 GB, and the standard iPhone with insanely better camera at 32/64/128.

I do hope if they upgrade the camera in the 5S they redesign it to have a smooth re-focus.
The 4/4S/5 are no good for filming in the respect that changing the focus looks horrid because of the way it's done.

Like Siri was reserved for the iPhone 4S, Mogul may be reserved for the iPhone 5S.

Except, "Siri" wasn't truly hardware dependent. Developers in the jailbreaking community easily ported "Siri" to unsupported devices.

Apple has generally tended to announce new features as hardware dependent to sell more devices. That's great, it's business, but a slight slap in the face for us tech savvy enough to know better.

I'd rather new devices have significant h/w updates aside from slight processor and camera tweaks. NFC would be a big one; whether you agree or not, it's been used and popular for years in Europe and especially Japan. N. America has some catching up to do.

Actually, this is a feature that's in the iOS 7 beta right now. There's an API that allows for smoother focus shifting.

S stands for...

iPhone 3GS - Speed
iPhone 4S - Siri
iPhone 5S - Slow? Slow mow? :p

cool, would be interesting to see how it works, but the reality is that we wont be using it much though.

Shall we feed the troll? I'm feeling a bit bored this afternoon.

Ok I'll do it:

There's already apps on the App Store that can shoot in slow motion. It'll just be natively supported and therefore work much better.

Let the fun begin!

It's the fact that it will shoot video in 120 fps that makes it work better, not that it will be natively supported.

Slowing down a 30 fps video to 7.5 fps (1/4 of the original frame rate) will obviously not look as slowing down a 120 fps to 30 fps (also 1/4 of the original frame rate).

The apps that exists right now for the iPhone will never give as good results as the Note 2.

Would be useful for races such as the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb where they go by so fast you barely get a chance to see them!

Call me whatever name you want but I love Instagram and making 15 second slow motion videos of my food going into my mouth will bring me great joy.

would like to see this happen

I love doing videos on the iPad mini or the iPad 4 but I'd like to see more frame-rate features. I'd also like to see auto-focus respond faster.
