I hear what your saying, but sales don't seem to suggest this is an issue
AND
$120 Billion in cash also seems to indicate this company know what they are doing better than S3, S4 Note2, Note3 company........

That certainly used to be the case, but what used to be basically an Apple's playground developed into a highly competitive market. Is Apple still evolving fast enough? Is it still leading and shaping the market? Or has it perhaps lost some of its edge and is now starting to follow the trends established by some of its competitors...?

i dont get this...

Apple knows the S3 and Note2 are more powerfull than the iPhone 5. And now the S4 and Note3 is coming with giant updates. And Apple still resting without any MAYOR updates. Always the same thing. People gets bored, and then only hardcore fans will buy.

Scary :-/
S3 and Note 2 are not more powerful than the iPhone 5.

Realistically we can only expect these specs for iPhone 5S

A7 chip
LTE world phone
802.11ac Wi-Fi
13MP iSight camera
iOS 7
More color options

Pretty much spot on.

I'm really just hoping for some MAJOR upgrades on the software front. iOS is just becoming too stale.

Doubting we'll see any major updates for iOS 7.

I honestly expected something to change in iOS 6 and nothing did.

So for iOS 7 I'm expecting nothing to change.

Hopefully it won't be as bad as iOS 6 but it won't be as good as iOS 5.

Well, they started development on iOS7 pretty early. And with the Jonathan Ive as their new lead designer... we should see SOMETHING new even if it isn't much...

And why does everyone keep saying that iOS 5 was the best?

The only thing is that they probably started working on iOS 7 even before Forstall was fired/Ive became human interface guy.

Remember Ive isn't the guy who will be coding. He's just suggesting new design.

Making these ideas turn into reality is much harder.

iOS 5 brought Siri, iCloud, iMessage, Wireless syncing, camera access from lockscreen, revamped notifications, basic photo editing features

I hope the iphone gets a little bigger. I've been preaching for small phones but after trying the Z10 with a 4.2 inch screen... i still found it very typable with one hand.

I don't know how Apple is going to do it ... cause some fragmentation.. i dont care.. just get it done .. a little criticism right now is better for the long run

Here is my wishlist for the :apple: iPhone 5S:

- iOS 7
- A7 Chip 28nm
- Better battery life
- Improved 13MP camera
- Same form factor as current iPhone
- Fingerprint reader (Security)
- NFC (if apple makes an actual use of it)

Too little, too late. An unbelievable mistake from what was once a blockbuster company with massive momentum.

The decision to let Steve's vindictive ways get in the way and launch full scale legal attacks has come back to bite Apple in the ass. You can't be negative and creative at the same time.

What a sad way to go...

Wishlist:

-- Back to 3.5 inch screen
-- LTE-Advanced
-- A6X Processor
-- Retina Display
-- 13+ MP camera.

-- Back to 3.5 inch screen (That extra 1/2 inch really cramps your hand and pants pocket??
-- LTE-Advanced (This is relevant in what 3 cities???)
-- A6X Processor (That's a given)
-- Retina Display (That's a given)
-- 13+ MP camera (so our 16gb can be even less relevant*)

Real wants:

- Biometric (fingerprint) unlock
- Better flash
- Larger display
- 32 GB starting capacity* (or sd card slot)
- NFC or something NFC-ish
- wireless charging or solar back
- carbon fiber instead of aluminum

I hope it's just some minor improvements. Nothing too major on the hardware aspect, I don't want to be jealous because I'm stuck with the 5

Granted I get it's personal preference, but why? Or do you just mean back to 16:10 aspect ratio?

-- LTE-Advanced

...Why, exactly? Isn't LTE fast enough..? And is that even available?

-- A6X Processor

AxX processors are reserved solely for iPads due to greater TDP. They're the same chip AFAIK, just clocked higher and with another GPU pipeline enabled. So that won't happen. A7, probably, which ought to be faster than the A6X.

-- Retina Display

This has been standard since the iPhone 4...?

-- 13+ MP camera.

Again.. why? MP =/= quality.... unless you actually improve the quality of the sensor, throwing more megapixels at the problem does absolutely nothing.. you could achieve the same results by blowing up an image.

Why is 13 MP necesssary??

The good news with the upcoming release of iPhone 5S, is that it's another clone of the same old style. Perhaps that will satiate Apple's appetite for profit taking by keeping R&D costs for the new phone to nearly zero.

One very long year later, Apple may take the easy way out again, or maybe not.

Let's hope for their sake they act like this once great company in Cupertino, CA. If they allow J. Ive to do what he's best at, it would be quite refreshing.

He's their expert designer... remember? I do :)

So you want a Samsung phone that runs ios?

S for SERIOUSLY??????

I Seriously hope that the next iPhone (whatever it'll be called) will have a BIGGER screen.
Otherwise the S will stand for Samsung (Galaxy) S 4

.....or you could get on a faster network. Mine is blazing fast :) all i miss is a bigger screen, i want a Galaxy s3 screen on my iphone damed

We are slowly ditching apple products, computers are now windows machines, still using ipads, will be switching to Galaxy S4 shortly. Apple just stopped innovating :( A two year cycle on the iphone??? Should be a 6 month cycle...

Why would you want to go to a smaller screen? Isn't the 4" iPhone 5 already small enough?

Yes, I do still have a 3.5 inch iPhone 4S, however one of the main reasons for me soon jumping ship (besides Apples incredible lack of innovation during the last years) is to get hold of one of those beautiful 5" Full HD displays. As of now, I'm looking at either the Galaxy S4, HTC One (4.7") or Xperia Z.
