I feared I would be disappointed but I'm overwhelmed by the announcements tbh. The new camera technology is just incredible. I also love the fact we can authenticate store purchases using a fingerprint. The 64 bit performance will be utterly ridiculous.

I'd have liked another "cool factor." Honestly my main excitement is slo-mo recording at 120fps. The Touch ID Sensor is a bit cooler than I imagined. Other than that, eh... I guess I'll be purchasing it, though. Mainly because, for the first time ever, I'm having to juggle space and pick and chose things to delete so a 32GB is a must now.

I was impressed by the new features introduced with the iPhone 5S, especially the new camera technology and new 64-bit processor :D

I know what phone I'll be buying when I upgrade :apple:

I voted underwhelmed but depending on how the FP reader works that judgement could change. Sticking with 16GB is really getting old.

1. Camera

2. A7 64 bit

3. FingerPrint Sensor

4. Captures video at a staggering 120 frames per second instead of the usual 30fps

Not overwhelmed, but a nice upgrade would have been a choice as well OP.

I think it's ok. I mean c'mon guys and gals. We've been hearing this stuff for weeks/months? Nothing more or less really. Everyone expecting revolutionary might need to look elsewhere. The iPhone was revolutionary when it came out. Now it's mature and it's just refinement. I'm one of those who is pretty happy with the iPhone as far as hardware. If anything I'm a bit bored with iOS so changes there are more likely to get me excited.

Even though I'm not really interested, Apple has always done a good job with S model upgrades. I think the iP6 will have same design with 4.8 screen and make a lot of people happy.

Anyone who knows how to read can't possibly have learned anything new today. Every single element of the iPhone 5S was known in advance of today's announcement. I'm not over or underwhelmed. It is what I thought it would be. Honestly the biggest surprise to me would be that they won't be offering a black/ slate iPhone this time around.

Explain the 64bit performance to me please? Dont know that much about it.?

I'd also like to know, people keep saying "great new 64-bit chip" but what exactly is the benefit???

Better efficiency?
More power?

AFAIK, unless the 5S had 4GB RAM there isn't any obvious benefit of a 64-bit at the moment, but maybe I'm missing something?

Anyway, I'm underwhelmed, I'll keep my GS4 and get either a Note 3 or wait for GS5.

WRT the Camera, I'm glad it got a bigger sensor, but exactly how big? Is it anywhere near as large as the sensors found in the Xperia Z1 and Lumia 1020? Both these are NOT just about megapixel, they are all about sampling, with huge sensors.

I think we need to wait until there are camera comparison tests before we decide if the new iPhone one is great or meh. I'm particularly interested in its low light performance as I almost always have the flash turned off.

iphone 5 is fast already, an average usuer won't notice the difference 5s v 5 speed.

The 5S is rated 2X as fast as the 5. The 5 was rated 2X as fast as the 4S.

Everyone said that the 5 was a huge speed upgrade over the 4S. So that means that everyone should feel the 5S is a huge speed upgrade over the 5. Unless iPhone 5 owners were simply lying about the speed increase over the 4S (I personally didn't think the 5 was that much faster than the 4S, for the record)

Or there is a double standard going on...

Good news for me, if I get rid of my 4S and upgrade, my phone will be 4X as fast. Upgrading every 2 years, for the win.

Easily overwhelmed. The dual flash and improved camera will make pictures needing look so much better. That metal ring around a blank home button looks snazzy, too. Plus, it has a faster processor! Don't forget the fingerprint sensor and the motion processor, too!

And those new colors are HOT!

I agree. I love the apps for iOS and the phone itself, but give me a break. It released a plastic phone and not a big and small one?

I would love if the iPhone was released as iPhone 5S and iPhone 5L. L for large, and giving us a 4.4 (which is the average in the US for cellphones). Just my opinion.
