Love it. It hasn't failed yet, unless I place my finger relatively far off centre.

I was momentarily confused using an iPod touch the other day when touching the home button didn't also unlock it - it has already become part of my routine.

I feel like I'm missing something mine stops working a day after inset it up. Rarely works for me.

I love TouchID. And I thought it would be gimmicky when they announced it. But it works wonderfully. You have to make sure you scan your finger print correctly. Move it around as the instructions say so it can read more of the print. Like how when you take ink prints, you roll the finger around so it is a complete print. The scanner can't process information that isn't stored. And agree w/ the other poster who said not to scan the same finger in more than one slot.

My husband can't use it. Never works for him.

I don't use a lock code or anything like that so I don't bother with it. It was fun to play with but not anything special.

I love it works 99.99% of the time love being able to leave it around the house knowing that she cannot get into it!

Every one that I know with one also love it. I had to educate a few how to use it properly though.

I think anyone who is having problems is either using it wrong by that I mean pressing instead of touching or the fingerprint was not set up properly.

Of course they could have a bad one if so get it changed,

I love it. Like others have stated works for me 9/10 times the first time. I love how when a text or something comes in, I can just place my finger and it opens that notification in the app.

At first thought it was gimmicky but after using it since launch day I'm loving it. Works 9/10 times for me.

I love it, BUT sometimes it works a little TOO fast. I guess it's a good problem. I want to see the notifications on my lock screen without unlocking sometimes, but it reads my thumb so quickly that it goes straight to the home screen instead.

Also, I'm really liking using it in the App Store. I have a long and complicated password that just doesn't work well with touchscreen keyboards sometimes, so TouchID is much quicker. I just wish it was universal (and not just for the App Store) for every other time it asks me for my AppleID password.

I'm in love with it. It works great for me, and very fast. I don't even have to hold it down until it unlocks, just a quick second. :D:D:D:D:D

To me, Apple really did a great job. They make it work so seamlessly, and you don't even have to think about it. I'm sure if it were Samsung, LG, Motorola, et.c, there would be a huge ugly finger print scanner on the side of the home button. Probably wouldn't work as well, and while you're scanning it, it'd probably have a big ugly screen that says "scanning." ;)

Love it! Works almost flawlessly.

I can't tell you the number of times I picked up my iPad mini and held my finger on the home button waiting for the device to unlock. :D

Thumbs up!

I've only had it for a couple weeks now but this whole fingerprint/touchID has become second nature for me. Goes to show how many times I access my phone a day :D

It isn't without issues though. I've had to re-program my prints once a week. Bruises, cuts etc. happen so that's to be expected.

So likes/dislikes about it what are your thoughts? With the new iPad coming around the corner supposedly with it curious what to expect.

I made this mistake the first time so asking.

While programming it are you waiting until you see the continue link?

What are you a mechanic? :D

I hope it's safe security wise that's a whole other topic though

I love it, although it does seem to work better with my thumb than it does my finger. Also, I don't seem to be able to use it to open notifications like someone else mentioned?

Been lovin' mine since day one. Prior to that, the only time I'd use a password was when I'd be out somewhere where there'd be the potential of having my phone lifted. Now, it's just a simple reach into pocket and press-and-release button as I'm pulling the phone out. It's usually open & ready to go by the time it sees the light of day:. :D

I L-O-V-E, love it! I never used the pass code before only because it was such a PITA. It works flawlessly 99.5% of the time. I am always very careful about hanging onto my phone, but this gives additional peace of mind should the phone become lost or get stolen.

Touch ID is Great!!!

It's absolutely my favorite feature on the 5S

We have two factor authentication via an iPhone app to the VPN into work network from home. Without Touch ID, I'd have to enter my extended length password at least 8 times a day (and possibly much more).

With Touch ID, I get a notification on my lock screen and I just swipe, touch to login and tap the Authenticate button in the app. One swipe, two taps total.

It works flawlessly.

Love it. Can get a little finicky, but I have found recalibrating the sensors once it fails more than a couple of times fixes it. Also, if you only use your thumbs, etc then use the extra slots to get even better accuracy. Each attempt seems to pick up different tiny details that can make unlock quicker
