iPhone 5S White Box (Official) Yuk

It does what it needs to: exaggerate and advertise the new icons in iOS 7. Too many people think "oh, it's not different to the last one." But people will see it and be like "Omg, are those new icons? It must be totally different." Or that's how I imagine it.
 
90% of the posters in this thread seem to have forgot that Apple is a "design-first" company...yea, the box design matters.

That being said, not sure if I think the new box design is bad...need to look at it more.

I really doubt that :). I'm a Justin Timberlake look alike. I'm not happy about that but girls love it cause I'm used for their fantasy. That's right, I get used! Do I care? Nope.

But you are right, I realize people collect fantasy figures that are completely regular normal people. I never denied that. BUT, anyone who is obsessed with iPhone boxes has taken it to a whole new level. It's a box! Period.

The box itself would make a nice gift. Just takes two little steps. One, cut a hole in the box. Two....

Apple boxing has changed the way of our electronics boxes. I guess all of you that complain have forgotten that boxes for stuff just a few years back looked like this:

Anyways, next time you guys (that complain that is just a box) go to a fancy restaurant please tell the waiter to bring you the food in a paper plate. I mean is just a plate...

Its a little different. You eat on the plate for 10 minutes and that 10 minutes is your entire exeprienece.

But the box you see and touch for about one minute and the experience (the phone) is a year to two years long. Meaning, the box is so minimal in the big picture. You open it to get the phone out. That's it.

Oh god yes horrible boxes with those horrible cardboard sections in wedging the device in the box. Like the boxes for wireless routers.

Maybe there should be one size box for the white iphone and a different size for the black one...

It's the same, trying to extrapolate time differences is nitpicking the analogy. A phone can last you forever or 1 minute if you decide to buy another one or that plate of food could cost you $10,000 for those ten minutes so it can costs more so time is irrelevant. They are both presenters of the item you are paying.
