whats the point of joining that line? do they think the store got 10,000 phones?

A lot of these people in all of these lines probably just want to play with one of the store models to get an idea of whether they want to buy one. It would be fun just being there, and knowning full well there's no chance you are going to get to buy one.

Where did you get that? They told me all copies were destroyed.

:D

Thanks for being cool. I do have a lot of respect for business owners, just think there are probably a few of them in those lines. I am on my 3rd iPhone, never waiting in line for any of them (got my 4 on day one, thanks to preorder, and I did not mind waiting a few days for my 5S) but don't mind seeing others wait if they want/can.

You under estimate the power of a flexible phone OS with true multitasking, ability to attach files to email, customize the OS or be more productive in a business environment.

iPhone is great if you want something very simple but limited capabilities when compared to Android phones.

At our company, you don't see engineers or sales people carrying iPhones.
And yes, our company gives people a choice of phones to carry, iPhone is one of them.

Says the person with a Phone5s, iPhone6, two iPad4's.

At my company all the sales people carry iPhones even though they have a choice. Of course they are selling high end services and carrying a Android would not make a good impression with their clients.

Also it's totally ridiculous that they don't allow business clients to sign up for a digital reservation without waiting in line - spending 6+figures should get you some sort of priority over the highschool kid who won't buy anything else from Apple for years, and certainly not 6+figures. They used to do this in the past but now think everyone is just "samesies" - but the reality is that if they did that then maybe not as long lines and then not as much hype. It's all a game, people! lol

Preorder.

You look at the lines and wonder, there is no way that one store has so many phones on Launch day.

It would have been nice for Apple store employees to tell people that they only have so many phones and the rest of them can go home.

Yeah... but publicity

I preordered 7 hours after midnite for my iPhone 6 16G. I first had to wait October 2nd but they bumped it yesterday to September 29th. Still a long long wait :D

Just a question:

We have 5 Iphones.

We are consider leaving ATT. Can you still not talk and search the web on the other services, or is this no longer an issue?

Exactly. I don't understand the hostility either.

Everyone hates Apple... except the 40-50 million people who will purchase iPhones this quarter.

:D

It is liberal socialists that hate apple because they are successful. Also people that bought Android devices and feel the need to justify their poor judgement.

Keep regurgitating their marketing materials please, I'm sure we're all dying too hear more

I've been a loyal iPhone user since 2007 but there is no damn way I will be spending $850 on a phone just to avoid 16GB of 2010 era storage.

And that's well and good. Nothing wrong with that. However, your decision to not spend $850 to get an iPhone does not make my decision to spend $850 to buy an iPhone any worse.

I've been buying Apple products since 2005, and despite having spent more upfront, I have come out much better in purely financial terms than any of my anti-Apple peers. I expect that trend to continue with the iPhone 6.

When people wait in line for hours for a cell phone that they likely won't even be able to buy, there is really nothing to say.

I'm just glad that's not part of my life.

Your thoughtful comment is unlike anything that has been posted on this forum since 2007 when the first iPhone came out, and adds a great deal to this discussion. Thanks for stopping by!

Got in line at 4am at our local VZW store... was 8th in line. They VZW guys said they had plenty of 6+s (80% of the people in line wanted a 6+). When 8am rolled around and we finally got inside we come to find out that they have ONE iPhone 6+ (16gb silver), and that's it! Supposedly they're getting another shipment in today and will call me, but I ain't holding my breath. They could have at least told us to not bother waiting all that time. ... on the upside they are giving me $200 for my iPhone 4S as a trade in so that's definitely something.

That was EXACTLY what I was afraid of. Luckily my preorder switched to "Preparing to Ship" yesterday so I didn't camp out but when I was considering camping out that was my #1 concern.

:apple:

Guess I spoke too soon. You are not being cool...

Calling someone a "troll" just for having a different opinion is pretty lame. Sorry if I am not outraged that people are standing in line for Apple's newest flagship product.

It doesn't bother me, I am just expressing myself by saying "why does it bother you do much?" Never said you couldn't feel that way.

Also, a "Troll" is someone who starts arguments by provoking their emotions in some way. Not someone who comments after those people have already expressed their anger/outrage/etc. If I began this thread with "People who aren't in the iPhone line are losers" or something stupid like that, then I would be a troll.

But I am cool - Everyone loves me.

Sorry, You caught me after my addressing what I considered a racist comment. I apologize for my haste.

Besides - I need to finish that cup of coffee, my dispatcher just called in sick and I have a truck stuck somewhere between here and Wisconsin. (Gonna be one of those days)

It depends on the iPhones you have. In general it isn't an issue at all with the newer iPhones, but with some older, non-LTE iPhones, it may be a problem.

For example, I currently own an unlocked AT&T iPhone 4 and wanted to switch to TMobile, but I would not be able to talk and surf the web on the TMo network with the iPhone 4 (which is why now that the 6 is out, I can buy that and switch). I believe if you have the 4s or later, you should be fine. With LTE, this should not be a problem at all.

Apple: "Thank you for showing us the way, and for showing us that people really do want bigger phones."

Samsung: "You're welcome. Glad we could help."

This is a day you're going to tell your kids about.

Oh like the truly Apple fanatics who stand in lines like this actually have time to have kids in between standing in lines and defending Apple all day.

Their 'partner' is probably a Steve Jobs statue ;)

Cool - Soon I am going to call ATT and tell them I am switching so they can transfer me to "customer retention" department. Then I will say that I am switching to T-Mobile unless they let us upgrade and keep the same plan. They will tell me to stuff it, and then I will switch, and then they will call me and offer me my old plan to stay which by then will be too late.

Customer service is a misnomer.
