Oh my. How could people miss this?! It's so clear!

Just look at the video and pause, please.

(3:45) - Glass shattering and you can see the panel coming off the phone
(3:53) - Glas panel coming off when the 6 plus hits the ground

OK so it does look like the screen came away from the body to be fair.

Anyway - even if the screen did come away, that doesn't mean it broke or cracked. Screens are taken off and put back when you service a phone so there's no reason to assume that it was broken just because it came away temporarily.

In fact popping out would mean a bit of elasticity in there which probably saved the display from smashing.

They probably just squeezed it and it popped right back in.

Looks fake to me... the curious part is, why would someone be driven to fake the durability of this product?

Is brand allegiance that great? Holy ****. Seriously.

Of course this phone is going to be fragile, it's ****ing huge and stupid thin.

I'd dare say it'll be known as one of the most fragile phones on the market.

But then again, Apple would love it if everyone purchased Apple Care. ;)

Why they didn't say something then? This video is clearly faked. I don't know why would they do that but the evidence is clear.

You should get your eyes checked.

Actually, you really need to check your tin foil hat for leaks 'cause clearly someone's beaming images into your head.

How could someone say this is not faked?

I'll ask again, why would a site called ANDROID AUTHORITY want to fake an iPhone drop test? If they dropped the phone and the glass shattered why would they want to hide that? Anyway nowhere in the video do we actually ever seen the glass shatter or crack.

You also see a piece of the screen brake off at 3:50...

...and from this angle it's ease to see how destroyed the phone really is - in the next shot they show a perfect iPhone.

Very funny. The "screen coming off" in Those first two images is actually the strap from the tripod in the background. Look at the videos again. And secondly... the screen IS elevated a bit, but that's how the phone is. Look at the drop on the back, when they show it flat. You can see the screen still elevated.

2nd image is at about 2:45

I find it somewhat weird that Apple allows the new iPhone 6 Plus to do upside down home screen orientation unlike previous phones. I completely understand the use of landscape view but this?

Look at the shot from the other angle

You'll see a piece of the screen brake off at 3:50...flying off to the right.

What is supposed to be inside that red circle because I don't see anything except maybe a shadow.

Its useful to me. I don't have a car dock to hold my phone so when its charging the cable keeps it from sitting in a cup holder properly.
Why would I want it to hold properly when charging? Well when using Google Maps and such.

Bro, That's a piece of grass... along with other junk that was already on the floor.

Keep in mind, Android Authority is part of a much larger corporation.

A better question is, if they're truly Android biased, or Android exlusive... why would they even perform a "Drop test" on an iPhone. Let alone provide a positive report.

The internet is a waste land of sell outs, it's the nature of the beast. Without corporate sponserships, none of these sites survive.

you're trolling. that's clearly the stand to a tripod. no way anyone would mistake it for anything else if you're watching the video. that 'glass flying' is visible paper scrap or cigarette ash on the ground before it hits. you've wasted a total of about 30 seconds of about 10 people's time rewatching the video. happy yet?

I'm actually inclined to believe him. It does look faked. Check my post history, diehard Apple fan.

Wow. I'm surprised so many people actually think this video is fake. The only indication that this video would be fake is that abosolutely aweful-quality shot from the one camera. However, you can see the lip of the screen from an angle all the time. It always looks like that from that extreme of an angle.

No where in the video can you see glass shattering or flying anywhere. That's debris that was already on the groud.

Also, compare the head down shot of where it lands to where he pics it up and shows the screen in the same shot. The phone is in the exact same spot down to the pixel, not to mention the time and battery are dead on.

My opinion.. not fake.

you need your eyes checked and some new tin foil

The previous drop test used a platform under the iPhone, when whipping his hand away he was imparting energy to the phone unlike this test where it was just being held for the drop.

It's a similar effect to trying to lift a newspaper from a table, the surface area touching together holds them together by atmospheric pressure and to part the two requires extra force than the weight of the paper. In the first video you can see the impacts are far more violent than this video, the first video is like 1 to 2 metres kind of speeds.

Get a case and or live dangerously, a drop test should not ever change your mind about that. This like any phone will break.
