There's a video right there in front of your face. Take a look at it. The screen popped out, and one corner of the phone is raised bc of it. You can even see it in the real time portion.

the video in front of your face must be a different one, or you don't know which point people are talking about, or you don't understand what poor antialiasing on 240p videos blown up to 1080p look like - OR - like seemingly many people here, you're looking at some dudes screenshots, taking them as proof, and NOT watching the video.

Antialiasing will make it look fuzy instead of jagged. Its not going to show a screen pop, and one corner raised higher bc of the screen pop. Learn to understand the tech you're talking about.

Don't you look at these videos BEFORE you post them MacRumors?

THE DROP TEST VIDEO IS FAKED!

You can even see the glas panel coming off when the 6 plus hits the ground (3:53), then they cut to a completely intact phone.

Oh and glass flying at 3:45.

Your seeing two things, pixel aliasing/noise because of the angle the iPhone is to the camera and there was a piece of grass that gets blown away by the phone when it lands. No conspiracy here.

I'm glad there is enough iPhone Pluses out there to do drop test :( So much for waiting in a line for 11 hours and not even getting an iPhone 6 plus

without a case, people are going to drop these constantly. They're way too slick.

Right, how could we have missed the cushy job opportunities awaiting anyone who fakes a drop test on YouTube!

Seriously, the amount of tinfoil hats out about this is ridiculous.

You need to get some glasses and stop being a fanboy. This video is faked and anyone can see it.

From chest high, NOT waist high

Does anyone think this was from waist high?! Sure, the iPhones look in front of the guy's waist in the video, but the video's camera angle is looking down. Steeply down! This means the drop is at least from chest high. This is not a negligible difference.

A video that makes the new iPhones look great, faked by a site dedicated to the Android platform?! Riiiiight...

Maybe it's something only trolls can see...

It's a pro-Android Youtube channel. Why the heck would they fake an iPhone drop test? I'm not being a fangirl, I'm being, you know, logical and rational. But whatever makes your little paranoid heart beat faster, I guess.

Considering my 5 has survived many drops like this and has been accidentally thrown across the room a few times I'm not surprised the 6 and 6+ survived.

Well, I like to think of myself as someone and I don't see any evidence to support your claim of the video being faked. Granted, I see how you might believe you see some housing separation, but a another look may clear things up for you. Take care to notice the orientation/placement of the phone is consistent across multiple angles. Of course, this could be "faked", but I seriously doubt that.

Thank you AT&T

for 15 years you let me upgrade every 18 months
now that you've become greedy *******s and I waited 3 months longer to renew in 2012 , you want 200 extra to upgrade early or wait til xmas eve
AT&T Suck my mutha fuhkin dik you kunts !

I don't really understand the back/front/side drops, as those will almost never happen.

What needs to be done is bumping it off a table, dropping it while pulling it out of a pocket and it getting bumped out of your hand at around chest level. Those would provide more "realistic" results.

Every ugly ass reviewer on the tech market has somehow gotten their hands on every single first iPhone 6 plus. Yet all they are doing is trying to destroy them! Why can't I get mine first and just enjoy it??!!!!!!!!!!

Strange these tests are scientific, how could they have different results!?!

It's almost like the tests don't matter!

These tests aren't scientific at all. You must control all variables before you conduct a scientific test.

Two flaws I can see right off the bat are:

First, they are not accounting for a consistent high for the drop test. Only eye balling it. We don't even know what height they are dropping these phones from. They need to state the height they are being dropped from. For example, dropping a phone from 100ft and 1ft will have very different results.

Second, for each of these tests they are dropping it on different material. What you drop it on matters! They need to state the material they will be using as the ground. For example, dropping a phone on granite and on carpet will have very different results.

Obviously, there are come uncontrollable conditions, like wind, humidity, the exact orientation of the phone, and imperfections during the manufacturing process. To overcome these, the tests should be ran many times, and the average result should be the final result.

Neither of the drop tests for the iPhone 6 that I've seen have accounted for either of these conditions.

IMHO the moral of the story is still with any smart phone, buy a decent case and just don't drop it! Got to feel sorry for the guy dropping it on national TV, hope Apple came to the party and replaced it if needed.

You got to remember even if the glass survives the internals might not, even if it appears to be working. Its a sophisticated piece of tech and you want to treat it with care.

Got my 5s on launch day and bought an (over price) case in the Telstra store but at least it has survived, my older 3Gs has been dropped a couple of times but still lives.

What I do hope is Apple can work on better weather sealing like Samsung have to make them more robust when it comes to rain, a spilt drink or the dreaded toilet drop! Probably won't happen with the 6s as it will me a design change so maybe the 7 in 2016?
