Is that the wonderful green orb / lens flare in your shot? That thing is killing every one of my outdoor photos. I'm really hating this phone's camera.

I don't see any lens flare. The moon is in the center of the frame, I know it's not very sharp though so maybe that's what you're referring to?

The iPhone compresses the pictures because when it up loads to iCloud Photo stream it drains the battery too much. Apple did this on purpose to speed up the iPhone and save battery life.

If you use ProCamera 7 and save the photos as uncompressed TIFF files when they are uploaded to photo stream your battery just goes right down quick. and I mean quick. You can avoid this by saving them to the light room and then only uploading the ones you want or transferring them to your Mac.

What if I transfer via wire to my computer

It will be the same as emailing at full resolution.

No app will save as real TIFF.

Pro Camara 8 does. I forgot they changed numbers from 7-8 with iOS 8

And checking the file on Mac the file is tiff and huge compared to stock iphone Camara

Yes but won't iCloud make qualify worse as opposed to manually transfer

Nope. As I said befor your battery will dive sending uncompressed tiff photos. Use Lightroom in app to choose what you send and when.

Don't do it so don't know.

So this app is legit? Do you still have to save each pic manually to Camera Roll?

I am not sure. Yes, it may save a TIFF file, which are large-22mb-but that image looks exactly like the native camera apps image. No better.

Taken with 645 Pro MK II. Tiff uncompressed.

Just took same pic with ProCamera 8 and stock iPhone app...went to mail both in separate emails to myself. Pro Camera 8 was a 6mb file and the stock app was 3.1mb. That was simply upping the JPG to best quality 100%. Keeper for me.

The file size being bigger doesn't tell the whole picture. These camera apps claiming to take better pictures only upscale the picture size. So you have the exact same quality with a larger file size.

To test, take a picture with boths apps of something with with detail-circuit board, text in a book. Zoom in to the exact spot with both pictures. You will see the exact artifacting and noise.

So the stock app is compression big time and the 3rd party apps are upscaling? Why is so difficult to present the original image?

So this app is legit? Do you still have to save each pic manually to Camera Roll?

Like I've said earlier in the thread you can have it do that but if you save as uncompressed TIFF files your battery will literally go down before your eyes as it uploads to photostream. Its one reason why apple compresses their photos... to save on battery. But you don't have to save them as TIFF. You can use JPEG and compressed TIFF. Go into settings to choose.

Or you can save them to the apps own lightroom. Then you can go through what ones you want to save to camera roll and do them manually. I do this because not every picture I take I want to save.

Its a legit app. Google it. Pros use it. Its rated right up there as one of if not the best.

I call bull crap. Post your proof

The iPhone has the ability to save uncompressed and higher size files. Apple choose not to do it to save on battery and time in saving pictures. They allow 3rd party apps to do certain things all over the iPhone because this allows the 3rd party to sell and apple gets a cut of the sale. The hardware is more capable.

Post 60.

You call bs based on your feelings 3rd party apps SHOULD be able to output great pics? Where is your proof? You have none. Just thoughts.

I use the app. I can see the files The tags, the sizes and Ive read the reviews where pros praise it because thats what made me decide to buy the app.

Your the one making ******** claims you can't back up.

3 rd party apps can save larger files than the standard app as apples camera app is finely tuned for battery and file transfer size. The 3rd party apps don't need to do this.

I actually zoomed in on a pic from both and there is a marked difference in the images. I am digging around on some reviews about it as well.

Again, you have presented nothing. Big deal, 3rd party apps can upscale a picture to present a larger file size. There is no increase in quality. Post two pictures in full resolution as I have and prove your point. Include EXIF data also.

not proving anything to you. Do your own research like I did. It takes me too much time to argue with you and theres nothing in it for me.

Exactly. Justifying your nothingness. Bravo.

All the info is out there. I researched it but I'm not doing it for you. Im not taking pictures. Im not copying links for you. I unsubscribed but you keep quoting me so I get dragged back here. I said what needed to be said. You are wrong about the compression. Go research you'll see. Dont be lazy
