Thanks to the curved screen edges, there is sadly no such thing as a good screen protector for the i6.
As for the oleophobic coating, who here wouldn't rather have to wipe their screen free of fingerprints more often than have a sea of hairline scratches on this coating? It defeats the purpose of having a 'Gorilla' glass screen.

I have a glass screen protector on mine and no issues with the curved edge, obviously it can't cover the edge. Blame the pooch.

Yeah but that IS the issue, the fact that the screen protector cannot be edge to edge due to the curved screen design. The screen protector looks stupid, and is felt when swiping the edges of the screen.

Yeah, could I convince Apple store to do a glass replacement?

$25 online for the glass...could I get them to swap it for me, then stick a Zagg on it?

no, any apple tech would not even think twice about saying no if you bring in a 3rd party glass/display and ask them to put it on for you. too much liability in that.

I'm happy about my second glass screen protector.

Partially true, but it worth for the protection of the display and to preserve resale value.

I've just had my the screen on my iPhone 6 scratched by a pooch during Christmas dinner. The phone was in my jeans pocket and the pooch just wanted a piece of turkey and started pouncing on me.

The scratch is deep enough to be felt by a fingernail. That and some other minor Scruff like ones.

I've owned the iPhone 3, 3GS and 4. NONE have ever had a scratch even without a screen protector and reasonably heavy use. The 6 was scratched by a dog's paw/claws through my jeans. Jeans are intact. Not torn. Think about it. Dogs now have Diamond claws perhaps?

And for the record, yes I have an SG model too.

I just got a tempered glass screen protector. First time in 5 years. FML
Are you really blaming Apple because a dog scratched your iPhone ?

Agreed, and I have a screen protector on my 6+. I tried a few, spent a fair wedge, but none seem any better than the first I tried when it comes to coverage. The curved design of the screen is obviously a limitation. I wish that Apple had made it flat because those who run with a screen protector are at a disadvantage.

I only use glass screen protectors

My last iPhone 6 had a scratch on the screen very quickly, and I similarly babied the phone. No idea how it happened.

That was my fourth replacement iPhone 6. It also started shutting down randomly and crashing this week. Apple store just replaced it, and I got my fifth iPhone 6 home only to notice a black speck of dust under the glass.

Just made an appointment to get my sixth iPhone 6. Six times the charm?

Dag, you're one unlucky person!

My Spigen is a good 3 or 4mm from the edges. Not good enough.

mines quite close to the edges, it covers 90% of the screen i would say
Mine also covers about. 90% of the screen. There is only a tiny gap between the edge of the screen protector and the edge of the case. It's tempered glass. I'd rather have a screen protector on than worry about my screen getting scratched. It gives me peace of mind.

Mine is like yours: about 3 mm from the edges. I'm looking for a larger one.
On my previous iPhone 5S I had a invisible shield glass that was perfect. It covered 100% of the display.

3 mm from the edges isn't so good. I'm looking for something better.

Which brand is it?

I'm not going to lie, I really hate the curved glass. I already had a bad experience with the Nexus 4 with the curved display. I was happy they got rid of it with the Nexus 5. I'm trying out a few full glass tempered glass protectors that covers edge to edge but have yet to find the one I like.

I always used a screen protector until this phone. It is funny that my friends who never used screen protectors now have one on their ip6.

Thanksfully I have maybe 1 or 2 slight slight scratches that are not really visible. I do not baby my phone, and it has fallen many times on carpet and a couple of times on wood floors (although I always have a case on to keep the body in mint condition)

I am a happy camper (knock on wood) and glad I am screen protector free!

I accidentally put my 6 in the same pocket my keychain was in and put a hairline scratch in the screen. Only noticeable when screen is off and at an angle.
