Not sure what I’m looking forward to more – buying the iPhone 6 or putting a case on it.

This is also a BS reason to justify making a bigger phone for the mainstream.

Don't get me wrong, we can't just have phones for the techsavy people.
But as a techsavy person it frustrates me when the following happens:

Samsung Galaxy S5 user: Omfg your screen is so small, why don't you have one with a bigger screen?

Me: Because I like iOS and I don't have big hands?

Samsung Galaxy S5 user: What's iOS?

Me: the operating system that my phone is running, like android is running on yours.

Samsung Galaxy S5 user: Well I don't know anything about operating systems and all I know is that I wanted a new phone and this 1 had a bigger screen + it was cheaper, and the guy at the store said it was the latest one. :D!

Me: What do you use it for then?

Samsung Galaxy S5 user: Oh just, whatsapp mostly a little browsing sometimes.

Which results in me shaking my head in disappointment
These are the people who Apple is making phones for? it's all becoming a cluttered vast sea of phones that meet standards of people who are not smart enough to understand what a smartphone can actually do. MOST people aren't even aware of what an android phone is capable of, all they hear is BIGGER screen and CHEAPER, and their minds are made up. I don't think you should be making phones for those kinds of people.

Oh, so like the person that came in yesterday to buy the $1 iPhone 5C because it was cheap. Asked them to put in their Apple ID and they asked what that was. I told them it's required to be able to download apps. They said they just wanted to make calls and maybe text. That's all. Didn't even really know how the phone worked at all. So it goes both ways. Stop spreading lies as I see it everyday on both ends. Just like I see tech savvy people who dislike iOS because it's too simple and they want a bigger better phone in their eyes.

Not questioning the authenticity of the report, seems the iPhone 6L a total disaster, notwithstanding it's slimmer, it's much taller than a Galaxy Note (1,2,3,4) while having a smaller screen and also heavier than some Note (183g n2) with smaller battery too (the note 2 has one with 3100mah and newer have much bigger while weighting less than the iPhone 6L...

I hope this nonsense being just Vaporware.

Hm, my phone is on the desk when not in use. And I love to press the Home Button and maybe type some words without picking it up. That's why I love(d) the iPhone. It hadn't these ridiculous protruding cameras.

....ok. So you put your phone on a desk, fine. As do i at work and also generally face up. How does a lens that sticks out mere millimeters prevent you from using it like you do.

Who CARES. Your phone is in your pocket when not in use. When you do use it you don't stare at the back of it. Nobody else cares what your phone looks like. A majority of people will shove the phone into a case anyways
Are you serious?
you must be from a different planet, because design and how a phone looks is a VERY important and crucial aspect.SPECIALLY with Apple.
That's why there is so much emphasis on design in first place.
So you saying because some people put their phone in a case,it doesn't matter how it looks or how the design looks like! lmao.

so the iPhone keeps getting taller and barely grows in width... do i just not see enough androids in person (99% of friends use iPhone, praise jesus) or does it seem that the iPhone is a much longer, thinner device than all androids?

to be honest, i was hoping the 6 was going to grow in width more than in height. the iPhone 7 might be 7" tall and 2" wide :(

Hopefully we will see the official invite going out next week. I'm starting to get excited. I hope Apple has a couple tricks up it sleeves that haven't been revealed about the phones yet.

The note 3 weights 168g measures 151.2 x 79.2 x 8.3 mm has a scree size of 5.7“ and 3200mah battery, the iPhone 6L born loser.

Actually I think this is fake. Why should Apple/Foxconn put a comparison to the iPhone 5s on this? Makes no sense.
But it says Foxconn on top of the screen, it must be real.
But yeah, the whole thing screams fake to me. Maybe I'm just too cynical.

Look at the date...

If I am not mistaken, these schematics are dated February 12 (look at the date in the bottom left of the computer screen). Furthermore, they show at least 2 prototypes per model -- who knows how many prototypes or models have been subsequently iterated.

I have a growing suspicion that most of the photo leaks of late are photos of knockoffs of an early design and we will see something a little different on Sept 9.

That protruding camera ring is a big of a turn off. What the hell were they thinking of?

Apple doesn't make their own cameras, they usually outsource them to people like Sony. So either Sony missed the mark and apple didn't want to reduce the quality of the "most used camera in the world," or my guess would be optical image stabilization was voted as a good trade off for the protrusion. Either way, look for that to be the first revision with the 6s.

Let me ask you this, where is the choice for those people who liked their 3.5" screens. People keep spewing the word "choice" when really with Apple their never is any. You take what you can get, and since it's basically the only real alternative to Android, you're stuck with a "choice" between phones you'd prefer had been smaller.

Well eventually the progress of design will allow for bigger screens in smaller form factors.

Old dumb phones were big obviously because of the tech available. The newer slimmer dumb phones weren't really that much more useful, just smaller.

Smartphones on the other hand are more useful with these bigger screens.

someone is gonna get the hel beat out of them for leaking these.

No, they won't. They are probably using these exact schematics to manufacture the Goophone i6 or whatever the KIRF is called two assembly lines over...

If this is the real deal, my mockup from back in april comes pretty close in the size department :)

As for the bands and camera ring, I don't really care. 99% of everyone that buys this phone will end up putting the iphone 6 in a case and won't see them. My biggest disappointment is in the size, especially the 5.5 in model. That is just huge for the 5.5 in model, bigger than most of the comparable phablets. I was debating between the two models and if this is accurate, I will definitely be getting the 4.7 in model.

Agree.

If they were from Foxconn they would be in Chinese and why would they need product comparisons like this at Foxconn??

People with big hands? I am a person with small hands, therefore, I would not.

I presume that you have two hands, just as I do? I use my current phone with two hands most of the time (such as right now), a bigger screen will only make it easier.

iPhone has always, like the Mac's been design masterpieces.

But this is so so so digustingly ugly. That white band. Looks like a Wallmart phone :-( Hope it's a trick or a real bad joke.

Glad I get it for free....

As I postet before: I very much like the white band.
Anyway, after looking closer I think the story is fake and someone is making his fun.

Since day 1 people have wanted a better camera on the iPhone. Protruding lens means they aren't compressing the camera for the sake of thinness. People complaining about a less than 1mm protruding camera lens as the end of the world are fairy princesses.

Also, anyone who says they should make the phone 1mm thicker so the camera doesn't protrude is incredibly stupid.

And thats by far one of the ugliest smartphone I ever seen... That makes it the ugliest iPhone ever.

You haven't seen the phone, and making this call based on a 3d render is ridiculous hyperbole.

Ghehe that last statement was a little over the top I guess, however, my point stands, you realise that all the people who actually prefer 3.5 and 4" phones are slowly being left in the dark, simply because of these none-techsavy people. It's obviously not just about what I think. Also I didn't mean to let it come of as if these people are not as smart as me. I am simply annoyed by the fact that a product I like is being changed in a way that doesn't benefit me, but benefits someone who is not completely aware of the capabilities of the device. NOT exclusively, but still them in general.

You'd like Apple to continue to make a 4" phone. I get it. Fact is, when the larger phones are introduced there will still be ample inventory of 4" iPhones and they will be updated for some time to come. Now if you're they type who has to have the latest and greatest, that's a first world problem with little sympathy from me. Heck, we're posting in a tech forum about an upcoming phone. All of this is a first world problem.:D

The crux of my issue with your quote is the insistence that larger phones are for the less tech savvy people. Forgive me, but that premise is stupid. Not you, but the premise. What empirical data suggests that a person with a smaller phone is somehow more technically inclined? Forget empirical, I'd settle for anecdotal in this case. There is no correlation. It's like you're looking for an excuse as to why people like larger phones. There is no excuse or single reason. People like what they like for myriad reasons. MR is one of the more technically savvy forums and there are a crap ton of people here with larger phones and a boatload more wanting them. Are they less savvy than those who want the status quo? Sometimes I think we can resort to high drama to get our point across when it's not really necessary.

It's totally okay to express preference without denigrating the alternative.:)
