Someone is certainly delusional if they think the majority of people in the world have these things. Clearly you have no knowledge of the world outside if the US, canada and better parts of europe.

You kidding me?

Did you even read what the other person wrote? Or are you just babbling about something you didn't even read.

99% of the world doesn't have AC, heat, money to build electronics.

So Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore doesn't have AC, heat, or money to buy electronics?

It sounds like you've never been outside your home.

You're probably the type of person who would get on Xbox Live and be shocked that you're playing against someone from Mexico who has an xbox one.

There IS NO normal sized, there is only the size preferred by the individual, period.

Fixed this for you.

"Just because you want it doesn't mean everyone wants miniature phones"

How is 4" miniature? This is miniature.

I read what you wrote, you said nothing about any percentage.

Wipe the drool off your face and learn something. Fore one thing I have been to at least 12 countries, how many have you been to? This is from 2005, but almost half the world lives in 2.50 a day, 80% less than 10.00 a day. By far most of the world lives in poverty which is something you are ignorant of. Try thinking beyond the trailer park you live in.

I never claimed 99%, but I have no doubt it's well over 90%. Again something you are very ignorant of.

I have no idea what the incoherent blather you have in the last paragraph means, but I know more about mexico than you ever will having been born here, i'm sure, before your parents were even born. For one thing 48% make 2200 pesos a month and less, considered extreme poverty. 90% make 6000 pesos a month. It's less than 13 pesos to a dollar, figure that out and see how many you figure own xbox's or even washers and dryers. Those things cost more here than there, an iphone costs 200.00 more here than there. Grow up and at least try to learn about the world you live in.

Every time you open your mouth you show more of what you DON"T know.

Exactly, you just proved my point. You just ranted and wrote up a storm before even reading what the context of my post was and who I was quoting.

I NEVER said 99% of the world doesn't have AC, heat, money to spend on goods. The poster I directly quoted said those ridiculous things. That's where I called him out on his ridiculous assumptions. 99% of the world being in poverty would mean that every single country outside of the U.S. would be in poverty.

Seriously, learn how to read and learn a little about logic before jumping on something you didn't even read properly.

You don't even know what the context is about.

You need to take your OWN advice of learning to read and using logic. I NEVER said 99% of the people did nor did I respond to anyone that did. You stated:

Now I know you're not ok.

You're kidding me right? You think countries outside the US don't have AC, washers, etc.?

I've lived in other countries and their lifestyle is the same as the US. AC, Washer, daily Starbucks, etc.

Stop living in a delusional world.

I did NOT make your point at all, you claim countries outside of the US have these things because the lifestyle is the same as the US. That's ridiculous when 80% live on less than 10.00 a day. YOU learn to read and own the ridiculous comments you make. Are you denying you babbled the above comment? Are you seriously trying to defend it?

I don't think English is your first language but, I'll help break it down for you again.

That first quote you quoted was my direct response to 2ms's post where he stated that "99% of the world lives in poverty and can't afford AC, Heat, goods, etc."

Let's think about this for a second. 99% of the world living in poverty would mean that automatically, every single country outside of the U.S. would be dirt poor with no economy and no money for the basic needs. A big portion of the U.S. would be in poverty with no AC, Heating, etc.

So essentially, the world would be one giant slum.

I'm not denying that a big percentage of the world lives in poverty. No one is. But to ridiculously claim that 99% of the world is in poverty is absolutely ridiculous and is straight up false.

This is the point I was making until you ranted and brew up a storm without even reading the context of the posts or what I was saying.

I'll pass. Thanks for your advice, however.
Well, you eventually won't have a choice. Hardware becomes outdated, therefore forcing consumers to upgrade. And I'm willing to bet you've had (almost) every iPhone, and that as we speak you own something in the 5 family, which, guess what, gained a larger screen a couple years back. Am I in the ballpark?

49% doesn’t look a good news for Apple, since the survey is wholly inside the United States, where iPhone’s market share has been always around 50%. Apple’s real headache is at the countries where non-subsidized phone purchase is the mainstream.

No, you are not even close to the ballpark.

1) This is my 2nd iPhone. I stuck with BlackBerry before that. I was also very close to going with a Samsung Galaxy rather than the iPhone 5S when my upgrade was up, but opted to stay with the iPhone for the form factor. The 0.5" gain over the iPhone 4S was a plus in my mind. The gains we're talking about here are minuses in my mind.
2) You are—incorrectly—assuming that smaller form factors are "outdated." They aren't. As the market research in this piece showed, there remains interest among segments in smaller phones. It's not huge, but it's not tiny. This isn't about technological obsolescence, but rather heterogeneous consumer preferences. These lessons are taught in every marketing research class out there, but in short, they become a clear reason for product lines and differentiation.

It's a no-brainer to introduce larger form factors. It's also—at least at present—a no-brainer to keep smaller form factors.

I just bought a Nexus 5 for 399 unlocked and new. If Apple would have a pricing like this, I would have bought the iPhone today. I wonder how many people would want to buy a larger screen iPhone if Apple had such a low price for a 5s sized iPhone6. I bet 70% of the people would buy the cheaper alternative and live with the smaller screen, which really IS ok on the current model.

Now that AT&T has no-contract pricing, I'm done with contracts. I'm sure Apple has no need or desire to do something comparable to the Nexus program, but I've been (and still am) very happy with my $299, unlocked, no-contract Nexus 4.

Ah. True. But in those same marketing classes you learn that appealing to the masses is the key to success. This data is all too clear, the majority of people are wanting bigger screens. Supply not equaling demand will result in very low profits for any company, but especially a tech company. The revenue would fall year over year as consumers realize what they want isn't coming, thus forcing them to settle for a competitor because they have a key feature that Apple does not.

I'm not saying Apple is losing any money or will any time in the near future, the above was merely a hypothetical. On the contrary, Apple will see their stock and really just their income in general spike once the world sees this fall that they really do listen to what people want, albeit just in the knick of time.

Actually, a bunch of our case studies were on the success of niche marketing rather than "appealing to the masses"....

All this junk is already factored into equity prices.
