Bigger screen is better nowadays.

Wait until all the young hoppers claiming they don't need a larger screen get older.

Not every app or whatever I read can be pinched.

Your eyes will get older and you revision goes bait at a time.

Ok the minority of you who want tiny screens had your fun since 2007...

NOW, It's our turn!

What a bogus article. The majority of respondents want a bigger iPhone, lol. How convenient that Apple will be releasing one in a few months. It would have been real reporting back when Apple released their last stretched phone but the fanboys couldn't bring themselves to report it then. If the new phone looks like the mockups it will again be a disappointment because it will not be proportional. Apple clings to the oversize bezels and mechanical buttons. The difference in how 4.7 screens vary is illustrated between the HTC One vs. the Moto X. The Moto X feels good in the hand, is proportional, but the HTC One feels too tall because in their case they have big speakers at each end of the bezel. I'm hoping that Apple gets it right.

Am I the only person who does NOT want a bigger screen? Sheesh.

No, you are one of the very few. And I salute your ability to have a mind of you own, well done, and good on you for not doing what most others are doing now.

Not that long ago, any mention of larger screen was met with waves and waves of people on these forums saying no way. Don't need it, don't want it, Apple won't make it.

Now, in recent days, it's almost full of people saying YAY, I want BIG screen, take my money, can't wait.

It's utterly amazing, how, yet again, Apple fans totally 180 degree change their mind from hating and not wanting something to shouting, I want it, I want it.

I respect you for having a brain that has independent thought. Well done to you.

Only 2% of people here wanted a 5" plus phone:

Another Poll here:

And Another:

Looks like virtually no one here will be buying the 5.5" one if it comes out then huh?

:)

That second graph is so irrelevant. Of course people are going to opt for the newest phone if they're given the choice

i bought my 5S the other week to avoid the new design. i can't be alone..

You're not. I bought a lightly used 5s on eBay about six weeks ago and sold my 5 because I'm not sold on larger screens but I am definitely sold on Touch ID.

Just last night, I picked up a Galaxy S5 to get a sense of the size of that device and while it is thin, it's definitely large. I have large hands but that phone was less comfortable for me to hold than the 5s.

I assume this is talking about the US market (where the iPhone already has very large marketshare).

I'm sure in Europe the situation is very different. Android and Windows Phone are much, much stronger over here.

ha.. when you guys 'get your turn', you all light up public spaces obnoxiously with a sea of phablet phone garishness, and most don't have the decency to dim their screens in low light settings. there's more to it than just pocketability or a personal need for better movie/skype viewing in your bedroom in private. for me at least. phones are truly public nuisances sometimes.
not all of us are super thrilled that home entertainment systems trot around in public now consuming human resources usually reserved for not crashing into others as they walk, or taking in the scenery instead of screaming into an earbud about which gal or fella wronged you the night before. phablet fans are generally the most enthusiastic about 'hiding' in plain sight like this, imho. certainly where i live.
of course i know phone size doesn't dictate this behavior, but the phablet certainly encourages the idea that being fully entertained anywhere you desire is more important than most other things. like self-control, for one.

What about those of us who want a smaller phone? Will we be forced to go Android or Windows?

Am I the only person who does NOT want a bigger screen? Sheesh.

If you'd read the post and graph, you would see that out of 705 participants in the survey, some prefer larger screens, some prefer slightly larger, and others prefer current screen size. So no, you aren't the only person who does not want a bigger screen, but there are many who do.

who knows, but the 'C' line has room for plenty of evolution. just because it wasn't a hit doesn't mean there's not value in the concept.

hell, the 4.7" may one day lose all its bezel and not really be much of a 'bigger' phone that the 5S is now. i'd be more into that than the upcoming 2014 release.

These prices are fine if they bump up to 32gb storage. If not, that's a bit pricey for something with only 16gb

You have a good point there. But the graph at least shows that about two thirds of those surveyed are not in the "I'll use a 4-inch iPhone for as long as I can!" group.

driving factor for sales surround performance improvements (battery life 33%, processor 18%, camera 12%). In our view, these results are positive for AAPL, as we would not be surprised to see improvements to both battery life and processing speed with the iPhone 6.

Yea...for the sound of it - these respondents are likely using a 4/4s model - I don't recall anyone saying the Iphone 5 was slow.

The iphone 6 will probably be 10-20% percent faster - the 5s is already very fast.

It was a post for dramatic effect. Jesus Christ.

this is a question for people who use a smartphone with bigger screen than 4.5"

If i have 1 hand busy, i can surface on my iphone with 4.7" or 5.5" with one hand, or can i make a call or answer ?

I'm fine with a $100 increase as long as 32gig is the starting point and the screen is just as good. But knowing Apple their going to keep the 4.7" 16gig at $200 and charge $300 for a 16gig 5.5". If that's true I'm sticking with the Note series. No way I'm paying $400 for a 32gig phone on contract. I will never own a phone having just 16gig and non expandable memory.

Am I the only person who does NOT want a bigger screen? Sheesh.

The only times I find myself wanting a larger display are when I'm taking and viewing photos, viewing Maps, reading e-books, and browsing certain websites—although Reader in iOS 8 now includes font sizes. Most of these I do on an iPad anyway so really it's basically when I take photos.

I think a lot of iPhone fans will finally discover what many other Android/WP users have long known:

2) Using larger screen devices with one hand is not impossible, and in fact, quite manageable. You'll learn to adjust. Those that used to claim it's impossible will eat their words when they learn just how quickly they'll adjust.

Not impossible, quite manageable is unacceptable.
