iPhone 6+ Lag

Is this normal - had my 6+ replaced just last night due to the lagging issue but I guess it's even worst. I was reading a post on this forum and suddenly my screen went blank - as in all white. And Ging back to previous page will give me a blank page and once I tap the screen, that's when I will see the page. Now I am thinking of going back to 6 and just wait for a 6+S or when they can fix the lagging issue.

That seems extreme, I've never had that happen!

I am getting the same thing happening on my iPad Air ever since I updated to 8.1. Perhaps it's not a 6+ hardware issue?

ETA.. Referring to the blank page issue.
 
I haven't noticed any lag on my device, 64GB 6+. Safari crashes though when I visit theverge in landscape, but so does chrome, so I'm chalking it up to theverge having a terrible mobile site.
 
I will give this 6+ two weeks and if I am still getting the lagging issue, the blank page, issue and the missing previous page issue,i think I will just try to settle for the 6. As much as I love this 6+ I can't love these issues of the +. I used to have the 6 so I know that it is quite smooth than the +.Better wait for the 6+s with probably a much bigger memory.
 
I have a 6. Plus steel gray 128 gb and my wife has a 6 64 gb gold and air 2 all 8.1.1
I see absolutely no speed difference or lag on any except that wallpaper view
6 and 6 plus performance is identical to me
I have 4 email accounts, play games ,ect. No problems after newest update

I do have dropped calls due to Verizons crap radio programming on both , even shutting down data and voice !!

My plus has about 65 gb free

mine definitely is acting quite weird. just a minute ago, i was sitting and reading a post on macrumors and suddenly the page turned blank white. weird. this is my second 6+ that has the same issue. i love this + but can't stand getting all this hiccups knowing that i paid a premium and knowing that down the line they will eventually increase the RAM of the next + or on their 6+S. i used to have the regular 6 and never had this issue. none at all. but the + is different. i have the 8.1.1 SW. thanks.

Are you in standard or zoomed view? Wondering if that's the issue or not.

never went to zoom view since i had the +. just standard and never played any games, never watch any movies yet. just plain ol' web browsing and texting. i just had this last night as i exchanged my previous + that has the same issue. i did a reset, and everything else and i am still getting this issue. don't know what it is. i have the 16gb + though.

My assumption is that it's a fault with the standard view. I've heard about this happening to others and everyone I've asked is using standard view. I've used zoom since day 1 and never had this issue.

That's terribly frustrating.
 
This must be one of those usage-based experiences because I see absolutely no difference in performance, fluidity or UI responsiveness between my 6+ and Air 2. And I'm usually very picky about finding said issues.
 
thanks guys. i will give this the normal 2 week usage and if it's still doing the same thing, i will just grab the 6 and wait for apple to fix it. i really like the 6+ but can't stand the lagging issue.

Exactly. The only other time you'll notice it is if you have 10 or more tabs open in Safari and go to change tabs. You'll see the TINIEST stutter in that animation.

That's about it... which is why I still have the PLUS... I'll live with it, I love the phone.

probably i said it incorrectly, maybe it's not a lag, but my situation is when i am web browsing and i when i go back to the previous page, i will get a white/blank page. if i touch the screen ever so lightly, then the page will refresh. and sometimes i will just be reading a webpage and suddenly it will turn into a white screen. it happened so many times and i wanted to know if this is SW issue or HW issue. that's when you guys will come in - to tell me if you're getting the same problem with your + as i am. thanks.

It can't be Apple's fault, huh? Chrome uses the same Webkit as Safari. I don't have this problem on any of my other mobile devices.

That's exactly what it is. This is the same issue that has ailed Android for years. Apple has gotten it right for every device except this one (and iPad 3 of course).

Downscaling is a hack. They should have waited to get the resolution panels they wanted. That's what Tim Cook says Apple supposedly does. Only release when it's ready.

My 6 Plus has absolutely no issues at all and doesnt microstutter ever, I came from a 6 that I owned for over a month and a half and have owned the 6 Plus for over 2 weeks now and I literally see no difference at all in performance, both are blazing fast and run every single game I throw at it with ridiculously good FPS

Turn on Reduce Motion and Reduce Transparency and watch your Plus transform, I dont have any spotlight lag at all when I pull the keyboard down, no lag in landscape, nothing

Settings>General>accessibility

Yes, games aren't the issue. I guarantee I can make your phone stutter.

Make sure your phone is in standard view and not zoomed. Bring down the spotlight menu, now rotate the phone. You will 100% see a lag/stutter.

Literally THAT'S what people are "complaining" about... It's not a deal breaker, but it 100% exists.

I have no lag, I have Reduce Transparency on and reduce motion on, it seems the transparent window of the OS slows it down a tad, but I have that turned off and still absolutely no lag at all, Love my Plus, it is buttery smooth, just tried it, and completly 60 FPS and buttery smooth

Try it your self, turn on Reduce Transparency in Accessbility in General, no rotation lag at ALL with Reduce transparency lag, no microstutters ever, nothing.

Right, but if you didn't have those turned off, you would see a stutter, right?

Only noticed it in Spotlight, otherwise my Plus ran great still without that on, but Reduce Transparency is everything, Nd i like the black notification center better from the Reduce Transparency, in app performAnce/games are still extremely superb on the Plus

Still not as bad at all as the lag Note 4 still has, and the lag modern day Android devices still have
