Only noticed it in Spotlight, otherwise my Plus ran great still without that on, but Reduce Transparency is everything, Nd i like the black notification center better from the Reduce Transparency, in app performAnce/games are still extremely superb on the Plus

Still not as bad at all as the lag Note 4 still has, and the lag modern day Android devices still have

I won't argue that at all, Android lags like a mother.

BTW: You're 100% spot on. If you turn on the Reduce Transparency option, the spotlight issue goes away completely and it's buttery smooth as always. To me, it seem like Apple needs to just adjust something with the software in regards to this, I no longer think that's an hardware issue.

Nice find. Even though I don't use standard view, it's nice to know WHY that stutter existed.

Yeah I know, I was pretty ecstatic when I found out it helps alot actually, it even takes away the stuttering in Messages when rotating too, everywhere , basically eliminates all of any stutter, it really does stay buttery smooth for me, one can argue well "why do I have to turn this setting on for to get that" and I cant nessacerily argue with them, BUT, this does help a ton, and I actually like the effect it gives on the OS, i like the black notification center instead of it being transparent now etc etc, not everyone will probably like that, and it may not be a solution to everyone, but is is the perfect solution to me and my 6 Plus is buttery smooth always, 100% of the time.

I also have Reduce Motion on, I prefer the Fade animation over the stock springy zooming in and out of apps look

We'll agree to disagree on this, I love the motion animations. My friend has them turned off however because they make him sick!!! Crazy right?!

Hahah my cousin says the same thing, it says Reduce Motion gets him naseuous somehow, I been using it since it was introduced in iOS 7 Lol, never makes me naseous

So i still wonder why the 6 Plus lags. I get the downscaling theory but it handles most Games just fine, even 3d games. After having the phone for merely a month now. i can say that it is not really a huge issue.

The downscaling effect is not an issue with graphics and video content. It mostly effects the UI. GPUs have been scaling video for a long time. But this is the first time iOS is doing it for UI elements. That's where you see the lag.
Android has been scaling for some time as well. That's one of the reasons that iOS was so fluid before. Fixed resolutions for UI makes it easier on the GPU.

Positive it's a scaling issue? My iPad Air does the same stutter.

How much free space do you have left?

I've 32.5GB free (I use a 64GB variant).

I've uploaded a couple of videos here showing the lag: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?res...89&authkey=!APQRtFbaBTCCoC4&ithint=folder,MOV

I've got 36.6 gigs free. I've watched your videos and tried to determine what you're considering stutter. To be honest, I cannot see anything that makes me think stutter. I tried repeating it on my device and don't see anything that has me crying foul.

Sorry :-(

I think it's important for us to hold Apple to high standards and be picky, since one of the big differences between Apple products and the competition has generally been the level of polish. That said, I can't help but think that all of this handwringing over millisecond-level lag in very specific cases is a bit silly compared to many large bugs that iOS 8 has.

Yeah, I'm with ya!

iPhone 6+ Lag

I used to say there was no lag, but after using my 6 Plus since October, I concur that there is jerkiness and lag with animations, specifically the zoom in and out of apps and scrolling through screens sometimes.

BUT

I've found that this all goes away if you go to accessibility settings and reduce motion blur. Turning those motion animations off make the phone completely smooth and buttery all over again :)
