Nope. Just updated to the plus back on the 20th of Aug. Ive only been on iOS for a year now and on the 6 it was smooth. 6+ now, still smooth. The fact that some people are on the 4s still says a lot. The 6 will be around for awhile, even with 1 gb of ram.

I agree what you're saying , but why not wait another month to get the latest at the same price most likely since is around the corner? If we talking around the 20th of February I would understand.

True. I think I jumped the gun so i used my early upgrade which seem limited to certain phones. I only have until Sept 3rd but maybe I can cancel on my trial then upgrade in a few weeks. But I have no gripes if I can't upgrade to the 6s.

I'm headed for an extended overseas tour and my excuse is I'll need to get a model guaranteed to work in my host country. Of course, getting the rumored 2GBs of RAM won't hurt as I hate app and browser refresh. And I'm bumping up to the Plus model for the real estate and OIS. Anything else Apple throws in is icing on the cake.

I'm on Verizon's EDGE program...so i figure I'll be making a small monthly payment on whatever phone I use anyway...so I might as well EDGE-up to the iPhone 6s+ when it drops just because I always wondered how the bigger model would be, and both of the new releases have just enough improvements to keep me hooked. Besides, I have 14-days to either love the 6s+ or replace it with the 6s...which I know I love. When the iPhone 7 hits next year, I'll probably do it all over again!

Eh, I kept an iPhone 4S for 3 years. I can live with my iPhone 6 for 1 more

For sure upgrade:

Camera needs to be the best ever on a smartphone including all Android devices. They need to at least use the same sensor that the S6 and LGG4 are using, because it is plain as day that these cameras outperform the iPhone 6. Truly they do.
4k video must be natively supported.

Battery life must improve by 2-3 hours over the iPhone 6 for general web surfing.

Some type of quick charge technology. Everyone's got it but apple. I don't care if their is proprietary or not. Just charge 10 minutes and get 4 hours of usage.

Apple omits many features compared to competition. So the ones they do include had better be the best. Otherwise what are they spending all their time doing? Then I'd accuse them of cutting features to cut costs and increase profits.

It's a short list.

I've checked out Android and all of them for one reason or the other don't quite fit me.
S6: screen brightness is low for bright retail lights (my situation). They say it's 600 nits but that's only in direct sunlight and you can't manually up the screen brightness. Max brightness indoors is something like 385-400 nits still. iPhone is 550 or so. Also do not believe that the AMOLED screens are better than IPS. iPhone 6 screen is still the best I've ever seen.

G4: Shocked that with a new battery of 3000 milliamps, the battery life is only as good as an iPhone 5s. Tested head to head under identical conditions at home. The screen is beautiful but still just insane to carry around what essentially is a tablet for piff poor battery life. The information density is also odd. Set font to small and gmail's font is way too small. Medium, and it's way too big.

M9: abysmal camera. Uneven volume. Goes to very loud at the last two levels, but that's when their pre-amp kicks in. It's kind of weird and I for one do not like their audio quality through headphones.

iPhone sound quality for music is also far better, at least it is to me. Spacious soundstage, tight deep bass, just all very engaging compared to the Androids.

I really am not happy with my iphone 6 plus. I got in on launch day and changed from a Note 3 to it.

Battery life is good but the phone has bad call volume. Unless i am really close to the speaker i have to say what? also the signal is not as good as on a note. My daughter still has a Note 2 and the internet is much faster on sprint then the Iphone.

Random respring. I can get sitting doing nothing and look at my iphone and see it just random respring what is with that? The Keyboard is a huge pain in the butt.

I can send the sms text then go to send another one and keyboard does not pop up. I then open a browser it pops up i got back and send a text very annoying.

And the most annoying thing of all is going into a Apple store. We happen to have one open in a mall like 9 miles away and i went into the mall and asked about these problems i am having. The guy said fine can i make you a appointment? I said whatttttt he said yeah i got a opening 4 days from now and anytime after that.

I do not make appointments for a phone to be just looked at days ahead of time 9 miles away from home.

So nope ill be keeping this POS till near Xmas then sell it and get out of IOS.

I am not a Android lover or IOS lover i like the best phone that has a large screen

I picked the 6 plus cause of the screen size and never had one. The screen and video and camera on a Note is so much better its sick.

Do not flame me as telling a lie cause i like Android and i am trolling. I wanted to like this phone but compared to the others it does not match up besides battery. But then again i can only have this one battery where on android for a few $s i can have 2-3 sitting around fully charged.

The phone was a let down i wish everyone luck with there phone.

I cashed in on T-Mobile's promo for a 6 Plus at $19/month with a guaranteed upgrade to the 6S at the same cost. Additionally, they're giving the first units to the people on the deal. It's the biggest no-brainer upgrade ever.

Have you always been a t-mobile customer? I'm on att and thinking about doing a switch with 2 lines.

Nope, I just switched from AT&T last Sunday with two lines. If you do, you should take advantage of their 10GB per line for $100, and the iPhone promo. Both deals expire soon, but I'm paying $69 a month for 10GB of LTE and the latest and greatest iPhone.

To make things even better, they'll reimburse whatever you pay to switch, AND give you trade-in credit.

You are way too technical about your predictions. I guess a faster CPU and more RAM along with force touch and camera may happen. Still battery has never been a priority from Apple, except in the MacBook line where they sometimes announce industryleading performance.

The only move Apple has made to improve battery time was to make the phone bigger and release the plus.

I'm waiting to see what real features are added to the new devices. 2gb ram, better camera are huge selling points from me. I'm coming from a 6+128gb. If it has the same form factor, not bigger in anyway then I'm 100 in. If it's a tad bit bigger I'll probably pass on it since I use a lot of external lens and equipment that may not work with it. But that's still to be seen, may just be a hair bigger and will still work with all my gear.

I think I am going to get the 6s+ and give my daughter my 6. She has a 5 right now and is begging for my 6. I am just curious if ATT is going to do another promo with a higher trade in value. Last year when I got my 6 and gave my daughter my 5, I was able to trade in her 4S for $200. I would love to do that again with her 5.

I doubt it. Besides the fact I can't afford it at the moment, i'm waiting to see what the changes are for this year.

I'm def breaking my promise of not upgrading after 12 months for the fact that this years model is gonna be a better built iP6. Stronger aluminum body & hopefully the front facing camera won't move. 2 problems that have been haunting me since I purchased my 6. My wife gets all my old models so the 6s will help w/ longevity.

BTW, I'm in the midst of selling my 64gb iP6 & had a question. After I sell, how can I restore a backup from 8.4.1 to my new 6S running iOS 9 ? Thanks

You download the IPSW file for the model you own, then use iTunes to restore. Turn off "Find my iPhone" before doing so. When you have downloaded the firmware (IPSW file), hold ALT key down and use your trackpad/mouse to click on restore. Select the IPSW file that you downloaded and let your phone slowly downgrade.

I won't be upgrading to the 6S, unless I get a crazy deal on it. Not paying asking price.

No for me. The only reason I went to a 6 was Apply Pay. I've since learned that apple pay will never be a real payment solution. No phone on the market today or to come will ever make it so I can grab my phone and ID and go shopping.... unless I only shop at a couple of major retailers and their terminals actually work that day.

It is neat but it is a solution to a problem that does not exist. I do however applaud the move to force CC companies to bring chips in CC's mainstream for better security.

My next phone wil definitely be non-iOS. The new S will have things that other phones have had for a while now, Apple is not innovating, they are rationing features model to model and using their followers as donkeys for fresh purchases.

Yep. 128GB version in black/space gray. This will be my last iPhone for 3 years, since that'll be my new upgrade cycle, instead of annual.

why did you buy the 6 yesterday? really cheap?

Yes, got the 64GB version (brand new) for £350.

(update) *Didn't buy the iPhone 6 yesterday because it was cheap, but because I foolishly swapped my black 5s with the white 4s for the size (I think 3.5" is the perfect size). I do not like white phones, however it was the only brand new iPhone 4s I could get at a decent price. I couldn't stand the colour and sluggishness of the 4s after day 1. 3 weeks for the iPhone 6s is way too long.

I do not regret getting the iPhone 6, I love how sleek it is. Still, I wish it was smaller even though I have no issue using the phone one handed.
