I have a question, I'm sure someone can answer I've just never done it and it was brought up today in a meeting I had. Does Apple allow you to purchase an unlocked device at the same time of preorders of those on contract? Meaning if say they announce preorders start midnight on sept 11th, could I jump on there and order an unlock? Not sure you can predict the future, I just wonder if that's happened in the past? I'm pretty sure the answer is no, your forced to wait a month or two before ordering an unlocked device. Thx
I hear you I have always had a 16GB iPhone but since I joined AT&T's Next program last year I'm upgrading every year now and getting 64 GB. 16GB'S is a joke when you have kids and plan to do anything with your phone lolSame issue with me. Need more storage and was short sighted getting the 16GB.
I'm skipping this update. My understanding is that IOS 9 should make my 6 plus perform much better--the way it should have in the first place. So I'll take that performance improvement and feel like I have a new phone. I'm really annoyed with IOS 8 performance and I don't feel like I need an upgrade.
Your 6 plus would've performed like it should've if Apple had given it 2GB of RAM. The performace of your 6 plus is the reason the 6s and 6s plus are getting extra RAM.
In certain instances I agree, but I'm a very light user. So if I'm messaging I only have messages opened and yet when I type in landscape mode I'll experience freezing and need to put it into portrait mode and vice versa. I really don't think that's related to RAM so much as a crappy IOS release.
Based on said rumor leaks, will any of you upgrade to the next iPhone model or wait for the 10th rendition?
Verizon iPhones are also unlocked.Yes. Although, last year, unlocked iPhones were not available until about 5:30 am ET.
Unlocked iPhones are the T-Mobile iPhone, which can be used with any GSM carrier. They start at $649 for 16GB.
Yup. I'm on a Verizon More Everything plan with the fam so this year I'm gonna hop on Edge for my 6s Plus. I usually just give my old phone to another member on my plan who doesn't mind being one phone behind and it works out great. Love being on the bleeding edge of tech.![]()
Yes, but only bc I'm using my wife's upgrade to get more storage. Can't handle 16 GB anymore. Also, she'll get my 6, which will be a big upgrade for her from a 4(S).
One of those things is software, the other..sure. But that's not really a big deal either. If the quad-core rumors are true, and they stay on the same path they've been on with increasing CPU and GPU performance, it will be an absolute monster. Add an AMOLED force-touch display, a vastly improved camera, and yes, the big improvements that are coming in iOS 9...should be an awesome phone. Also, more RAM, which is badly needed. That's a huge difference.
We'll find out next month for sure if your 6 plus turns into a "new" phone or not thanks to iOS 9. I just have this feeling that your 6 plus is in the same boat as my iPad Air, RAM starved and iOS 9 won't provide a meaningful fix for that. Maybe I'm wrong.
I'm upgrading for two reasons first, For the extra ram the iPhone 6 + is in need of more ram. I never had these performance problems with the 5s.Your 6 plus would've performed like it should've if Apple had given it 2GB of RAM. The performace of your 6 plus is the reason the 6s and 6s plus are getting extra RAM.
The only issue with that is now with a new Verizon installment plan (formly know as Verizon edge) you have to pay the full amount remaining of the device in a 24 month installment plan, so if you wants upgrade next year you have to pay off half your device. Granted you can turn around and sell the phone to help fund the cost but I rather go with turning in my old phone and just upgrading every September which is what I plan to do with AT&T Next
