I was on the 6 plus the longest. I think I had 4 of them. When one broke I just bought a used one online.
The 6 Plus was the worst iPhone I ever had. 1gb ram and 64 bit never should have happened. Crashy, constantly refreshing apps, played a podcast-paused-looked at Safari-pressed play again-music started playing as the podcast app was flushed. Terrible.
Exactly. The 5 was a fine upgrade, the 5s was a leap. The 6 was an s update with bigger screens, the 6s was a new generation of iPhone.6 was the only iPhone I ever sold a month after purchasing because compared to my 5S I saw no real performance improvements. Used the 5S for another year until the 6S dropped and used that phone until the X was released. 6S was the phone the 6 should of been...
But, of course, Apple didn’t advertise how much ram is in the phone; they just advertise “this phone is the best”.You’re right, that’s one of things that I think I didn’t pay attention to and many others as well, was not paying attention to the Ram at the time versus the nostalgia of a larger device.
The 6S was everything that the iPhone 6 should’ve been., And I owned that phone as well, and there was a significant difference in performance, especially with opening multiple apps or tabs in safari.
Yep, apple cheaped out in the specs of the 6. The 6s was a clean slate approach to the iPhone 6…now the 6s was apple quality. (You’re bending it wrong)You’re right, that’s one of things that I think I didn’t pay attention to and many others as well, was not paying attention to the Ram at the time versus the nostalgia of a larger device.

I ****ing loved the iPhone 7 gold I had. One year after release, it was perfect coming from 5s. Everything I wanted, nothing I didn’t. (Well, no, I need more battery life.)The iPhone 7 is the start of the "seriously powerful" iPhones, I'd expect it to last a little while yet.
Considering how well the iPhone 6s has held on, I'd be very surprised if it didn't see at least iOS 16.
Definitely, it's amazing how well the iPad Air 2 still runs (I have one in my kitchen for recipes and whatnot). It won't be long until WWDC and we'll find out what Apple's intentions are!I wouldn’t even be surprised to see the 6S get iOS 16, given how similar it is in performance to the 7.
But yeah, I don’t think we’re that far away from an iOS device getting A full decade of software support.
The iPad Air2 has gone from 8.1 to 15.4, which is extremely impressive.
But I especially expect the A10 and A12 Devices to get years and years of support, mainly just because of how many devices used those CPUs for as long as they did.
Apple still sells an iPod touch with an underclocked A10, and the budget iPad only moved past the A10 in 2020.
I understand buying a replacement if you really like a phone, but 4? Dude.I was on the 6 plus the longest. I think I had 4 of them. When one broke I just bought a used one online.
What nonsense you talk. The 6S was a total nonentity.Exactly. The 5 was a fine upgrade, the 5s was a leap. The 6 was an s update with bigger screens, the 6s was a new generation of iPhone.
7 was s, 8 was s, then came X, a whole new bread of iPhone. I had the 4, then 5s, then SE, then X. Perfect order IMO.
You must be joking. What nonsense you talk. The 6S was a total nonentity.

That is not accurate. iOS 12 has had fourteen updates since iOS 13 was launched. The updates are almost exclusively security fixes, but iOS 12.5, released December 14, 2020, added COVID-19 Exposure Notifications. The last update came on September 23, last year.Apple stopped supporting the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus with software updates back in 2019 with the launch of iOS 13.
I understood what you meant. After the 3rd time you bought the same phone, wouldn’t it be a better idea to just buy a $15 case?LOL you're jumping to conclusions. I only had 1 functional iPhone at a time. They would break from being dropped etc. and I would replace them with used ones off of Ebay.
Says the man referring to the 6-8 as "surfboards"...What nonsense you talk. The 6S was a total nonentity.
