I know this is mind blowing but here's a tip: Stop wearing tight hipster pants and use a normal fit or using back pockets where the pocket curves due to the butt.
And no I don't have a physics degree just plain old common sense.

Another mind-blowing tip: even if you are careful, with a device like a phone which you are carrying with you all the time, once in a while there will be a situation where pressure is applied anyway without you realising or controlling it. Until the 4S I was confident my phones could take a good bit if pressure in case this was to happen ... with the 5 and even more so the 5 and 6 Plus, not so much. Luckily my 5 has been fine, but my brother who I know is very careful with his phone did get some damage on his 5s and has no clue how it happened.

I'd agree with this. I just find it strange how there are now restrictions on the type of pants you can wear.

It's not a restriction as much as common sense. It's a phone not a tank

It's a phone not a tank, how can they expect someone isn't going to be careful with an almost 400 dollar phone?

Hard to tell from the picture I guess, but at least I can confirm the article and the comment on their forum are definitely talking about a regular 6.

I sure hope it's more common with the 6+ then. I don't feel I'm putting my phone in any situations where it could be bent. It fits pretty great in my pocket, but sometimes there are going to be unavoidable little bits of unintentional pressure applied to it. This goes with carrying any device around with you...

Exactly, even the most careful person will run into bad luck or situations out of their control once in a while. It is too early to judge whether the impact is significant I think, but clearly the 6 should be a bit more solid than the 6 Plus. Having said that there is no denying that in the past few years this has became more of a potential issue: I doubt if you were to give the original iPhone to the guy in the video you posted he would be able to bend it as easily.

So much yes to your last point. However, none of us would want a phone that thick, myself included.

Yes ... all a matter of trade-offs and we all want manufacturers to push the limits further and further. Only I hope we can trust Apple's engineer to stop when going further is not reasonable ...

hands shaking while trying to bend the phone. seems like a legit real world example.

rofl seriously right :D

give me any phone and let me do the same thing to it and I promise you i will bend/flex that phone

Reminded me of the test when they hit the screen with a hammer and go..: look the screen broke. Ya no **** Dick Tracy.

Am I the only one who watched this video and actually felt *BETTER* about buying a 6+? I was totally impressed by the fact that this guy was able to noticeably bend the phone without causing the glass screen to crack. How is that even possible?

Boy you are really hoping this is a major issue isn't it with 6 people up to now.

Good lord, not at all. I actually have a 6+ on order. But I know what I see. If my phone turns out to be problematic, I'm not loyal to inanimate objects or corporations. I'll just get something else until it's resolved.

You on the other hand seem to be completely unwilling to accept that it is a possibility that Apple may have an issue on their hand.

possibility, not a probability. 6 people up to now with all the media attention today and still 6 is not an issue yet

If there's that much pressure in your pants while you're sitting, you have to be an idiot to not realize something is wrong.

yea but now the phone is vulnerable even in your pants. What if you are walking and bump into something. Fall down? door open into your thigh? car door?

6 here, a few outside of here. Neither of us know the true number. But your rigidness in holding onto 6 is telling.

yeah many more would have shown up up to now especially in the facebook, twitter, google+, IM age. we would have had at least 50 people if it were a fundamental product flaw.

Anyone who is concerned about bending a phone must consider the following.

Don't be concerned. It's just a phone. Don't sit on it. Don't drop it. Don't bend it with your hands to see if it bends. Don't step on it while it's laying on a Lincoln log. Don't play tug of war with it. Don't let it hang over the edge of a counter and push down on the floating half. Don't use an iPhone 6+ if you live in Bend, Oregon. Also don't use an iPhone 6+ if you live in south bend, Indiana.

If you plan do do any of he following please be sure to post up your cry baby post when your iPhone 6 plus that's light weigh and made from a mailable material called aluminum bends. Ohhhh and by the way

Exactly. You can see his hands slightly shaking while attempting to bend the phone. That is some significant force/pressure being done to the phone, so of course it will bend.

You guys have to get over it and just realize that your iphone will bend eventually ....
