With the amount of pressure he applied, you would have to have your phone in your back pocket and then sit on it.

If you had that amount of pressure in your front pocket....isn't that a bit uncomfortable? Personally, I dump everything out of my pockets once I reach work/home.

I would like to see a bend test with an iphone 6 + new.

The one from the test was already bend and that causes that when you try to bend it is is easier.

The iphone 5 has the same issue and you have to handle with care your iphone 5 and 6.

You can't use the iphone 6+ in your pockets because sooner or later you bill bend it because the big size.

If you are worried about bending the iphone 6 + buy a cover or choose the iphone 6 it will fit better in your pockets without bending like the iphone 5.

Also it could be great that Apple changes the aluminum for liquidmetal.com because it is harder than titanium. The sim eject tool that was included on the past was made from liquid metal, also I think that where you place the sim

So I have to buy a smaller phone just so I don't break it?! Dat logic tho

Don't worry folks.

There will be a zillion bend-proof cases. Otterbox already is advertising the "Unbendable Case". They say they use the "right" materials (whatever that means).

Just watch out for cheap imitations. knock-offs off claiming unbendablity when in fact they offer little protection.

A funny thing I saw posted was some guy who bought a supposed "Genuine iPhone 6" in Hong Kong . He later claimed it was a fake as didn't bend.

I guess that's proof? :D

The fact there was already a slight bend from after a few days of being used and in a pocket does make me go hmmmm. I wouldn't be surprised if this is just an isolated issue that the media are blowing out of proportion since it's a new device and later revisions (if any) don't exhibit the problem, or people have moved on.

Funny how the naysayers are conveniently ignoring your post and keep saying any phone will bend ;-)

Because this **** is the least scientific/objective test imaginable. Here's an already bent iPhone 6+ I'm just gonna grip it and rip it. Here's a different phone, grip it and rip it time.

How much actual force can the iPhone 6+ withstand and how much for a Note 3? It wouldn't be that hard to actually set up a simple homemade rig and measure it. Is he actually applying the same force on the two? Even if the Note 3 is stronger, which I don't have a problem believing, how much stronger is it? You are criticizing people for not drawing conclusions off of bad evidence.

oh yeah.. it was very little pressure that was put on that phone.. maybe i was just imagining things. sorry.

The note 3 coped more pressure.

Same guy doing the test.

Though I completely understand that you will be unable to understand what happened here. If you pay attention in school, basic chemistry/physics if your co-pilot on this one ;)

Anyone who has passed high school knows that a metal bends. Plastic flexes.

Aluminium is malleable.

These two videos just prove that point.

You going to waste you time setting up an actual scientific test, cause its guaranteed the iphone 6 is going to loose to a plastic phone. One will bend, one will flex.

I also know my rMBP will bend while my work plastic lenovo will not under the same pressure.

It seems crazy that there is thread after thread about the iPhone 6+ bending... If you have paid that amount of money for a gadget then just be careful ;)

It's metal under pressure it will bend simples, I had an iPhone 5 for 2 years and guess what it bent at the volume buttons Google it it's nothing new. My iPad 2 that I've had for 4 years which has been abused dropped and generally not taken care off by my daughter has bent... We just all need to enjoy the device in which we choice and not worry about the potential of damage ;)

I'm baffled at some of the stupidity in this thread. "Not good guys" yeah, he intentionally bent it, what did you expect?. I could understand that reaction if he did a test like. Oh I don't know... Maybe pocket his phone and do stuff like sit, bend over, stand, walk... You know. What people actually do with their phones in their pockets.

There was no "test" at all in video.

Kind of a ridiculous test. His iPhone was already bent yet he bust his gut to bend it even further. Of course it would bend. The thing already lost structural integrity before he started.

Also plastic is flexible, whilst metal is malleable. The results are par for course. Physics 101.

Yet people are eating it up. But hey good on him for riding this media wave and making more YouTube money for himself. 2 million views already. Nice payday.

Didn't they say the same thing about the 5 and the 5s ? I had both and never had this problem... I have the 6 plus not and havnt seen any bending so far

.

So what does this tell you? well? I'll let you know: It tells you that the phone is a total engineering failure that gets bent even when somebody is carrying it in a pocket. So basically the guy did not need to to that bend test since the phone was already, funny as it sounds, bent. Its acutally quite hilarious when a company like Apple introduces a phone and says its the best one ever, yet it cant even withstand a normal day-to-day use

funny how hes not trying to bend above the battery. plastic also flexes

you guys that are surprised metal bends obviously are those same people who needed the 'food is hot after heating' lables

It tells me nothing new. If you apply unnatural pressure/force to something, It'll yeild sooner or later. Its not exclusive to Apple either.

Been carrying mine since launch and it's still intact. And I'm not using any cases.

breaking things for fun is pure madness? just to earn money out of revenue? what are you trying to teach young kids online? breaking things is damn cool.

if look after properly it will last much longer!
