Man this is crazy. With all of this going on, it's no wonder this is a scalpers dream!! Shoot I'm ready to go buy like 3 of them myself in addition to the one I want.

But it does look like I could make it to my local Apple store tomorrow morning around 9-9:30AM or so and wait in a line, if necessary, for a little while, if it would let me grab a 128GB iPhone 6.

I wouldn't keep your hopes up ... the 64gb is the most popular and once those sell out people will go up a level. Unless you have a small store that nobody goes to, they will be sold out by the time you even get there.

Most of the stores are opening at 8am. But hey, I wish you luck let us know if you pull it off :D

That means I'll be able to sell my iPhone 6+ on ebay for big bucks! Whoo!

Good luck. I am too scared / a pus*** when it comes to e-bay / e-business as a seller. I cannot afford to be a victim of scam / fraud or lose / miss out on that utterly gorgeous device.

You know there are limits to manufacturing processes and technology right? They can't just "wish" up 100 million iPhones.

NO ONE sells this many. NO ONE. This isn't some normal occurrence they should be totally prepared for.

it's called preparation.. Apple was completely unprepared as always. Piece of crap.

It happens in Singapore as well. Had something like a pre-order with the carriers, under 3 mins after the opening, all 6 Plus were gone. What's more is that after the launch event, only iPhone 6 are available at stores island-wide but not the 6 Plus.

bummer

I was speaking with a Telus rep who echoed this report and this was before this article or news came out. A few hours earlier so there has to be some truth, unfortunately.

oh well. not a case of life or death for any of us so it shouldn't be a huge drama

Confirmed. Just got back from Apple Store in Australia. 6 Plus sold out 1 hour before opening. And only 1000 in the queue ahead of me. At least the manager told us in person.

(if you can believe such things) I heard they only had 50 6 Plus units for the store for the day. And only 30 gold phones across all models. Someone from the Vodafone store told us they had 20 phones total, one of each model.

Confirms my suspicion the Plus isn't really available yet. Will be in a month's time, and Cook didn't have the honesty to tell everyone. Spoil the vibe. Look at all the flack they caught last year for telling the truth.

If you were wondering why all the pundits have been following the script - talking up the 6 over the 6 Plus, when it's clear the Plus was going to be the big seller, just like the S last year, there will be better margins in the cheaper phone, and this is Apple's way of boosting 6 sales - delaying availability of the Plus to see how many will get caught up in the vibe and buy a 6 instead.

Why not just release both models in October? It's the marketer's trick of the 2 models. Use the Plus as bait, then switch.
It's all down to $ in the end.

Fans are excitable, but not stupid. And this is arrant disrespect for customers, from both Apple and their mouth-pieces.

Don't bother queuing unless you want the chump model.

Really? You would do that? You would announce the phone on Sep 9 and start selling it two months later, while Samsung releases the Note 4 and sells it right under your nose? Wow, you'd be leading a really successful company!

And what is the advantage for the customer if Apple waits for two months? Apple chose not to wait, so I will be getting a 6 Plus tomorrow. If Apple had followed your suggestion, I would get a 6 Plus in two months. Now please explain how that would have been an advantage for me. Or for anyone for that matter.

Really, what is the disadvantage of selling the phones nearly immediately after the announcement? There is none whatsoever, except that some people are now jealous. Hey Apple, you reading this? There's people here who think you should be catering more to jealous people! :p

You missed my point, I said produce them 2 months before announcing so there's enough of them for launch day.

No 16GB? Works for me :)

At this point, the 16GB version is insulting... Don't waste space even making them and make more 64GB versions. If I gotta wait, I'll find the extra "c note".

This will be the holiday season's first "unobtainium" gift!

How are the lines being managed overseas? Supposedly there's a way to reserve with an app rather than the cards they handed out in the past. But how do the ensure the first person in line gets first pick, etc?

That would just have the effect of pushing back the release. I'd rather some of us have iPhones than none of us. No sense in having 10 million iPhones sitting in warehouses.

Apple was completely unprepared for this launch, now NO ONE is going to get any 6+ on launch day and will be backordered until next year. FACT and FAIL.
