now would you like me to do jumping jacks in front of the phone with the screen lit up and a namecard with the time and date on it while pledging allegiance to the flag while balancing a book on my head?

Lol i was gonna say thumbs down if it was real..

So care to answer the other questions? How hardcore did it need to press against it?

This is the exact mentality that is wrong here.

So you have a perfect example in your hand of an unbent phone, along with 10 million other people.

But a few anonymous reports, on an internet filled with trolls, and you believe it..

loool.

And thats why they make fun of us and attack us, cuz they know its so easy.

Nope, I believe what I seen over at 9to5mac. Apple are not perfect. But like I've said no problems with mine and hopefully it stays that way.

They still won't believe you.

The CSI:Apple crew has deemed you dishonest. It has been decided that your phone bent from the fall.

Still no answer on how he did that.

He clearly dropped it as pointed out by someone else and confirmed by him.

Next......

iPhone 6 Plus slightly bent after 2 days

This reminds me of antenna gate... some people complained the signal would drop if they held the phone like plonkers

Soon after that we had a ton of videos showing how the signal was dropped...

LOL ridiculous

I didn't feel any type of pressure in my front pocket when driving the customers car. I noticed it when i got out of the car and pulled my phone out of my pocket. I didn't ever feel any discomfort while driving.

This is like me claiming I have a pet dragon in my garage that can't be photographed or he dissapears.

Can you prove I don't?

It's almost impossible to prove a negative (ask Christianity, they lean on that premise almost exclusively).

I don't believe the people claiming they did nothing but put the phone in a front pocket. I have plenty of reasons not to, and they have a ton of reasons to lie about it (embarrassment over damaging their own phone through their own negligence for one).

There are MILLIONS of these phones in the wild. There aren't even 100 reported cases of "bending", regardless of the cause.

Could it happen? Sure. You CAN bend your phone. No one is disputing that. What is in dispute is how hard it needs to be pushed, and under what circumstance it will bend.

For 99.9999% of folks, it's a NON-issue. I completely understand wanting to save face if you sit on your phone. That does NOT make it anyone's fault but yours.

There IS no problem. Prove me wrong.

Do you people really think you can put these in your pants pocket and not bend
it? C'mon a little common sense, Please!

Yes, I think I should be able to put a $650 device in my pocket, and not have it bend like a cheap piece of crap.

Who rides in a car with their phone in their pant pocket?

Everyone I know.

Apple offers 3 sizes of iPhone at this point.

That's 3 options to accommodate your lifestyle, which would include how you carry the device.

Apple sold you a perfectly functioning device, but it doesn't seem like you the product that best suits your real world needs. The end result is YOU damaged your phone.

Yeah, the guy damaged his phone, by carrying it in a loose fitting pair of pants, IN THE FRONT.

I've not been here awhile, but I can see the apologists have come back to roost. For awhile there, it seemed like it was just Android/Windows trolls.

Surely somewhere on the Internet someone has done a bend test with a device that can actually measure the amount of force necessary to bend/break the phone?

You lost my attention at the off handed shot at a major world religion. Was it necessary, no. Is it needed in this argument? No. Do I agree with you, doesn't matter, because it doesn't belong here.

Seriously? Try bending any smartphone and it will bend... I don't know why people expect the iPhones to be invulnerable...

Yeah. That video isn't really indicative of the problem that is being reported. I think I could snap most smart phones by applying pressure like in the video.

The concern is the iPhone bending just from being placed in a pocket and going about your day. That is my concern.

I hope that a few bad :apple:s just left the plant. I don't want this to be a real problem. I was looking forward to purchasing a 6, but I will hold off for a couple of weeks.

It's interesting to note that it was bent before the test too. Not as bad, but he didn't realize it until he went to make the video. So technically another accidental bending. ...followed by a much more purposeful and thorough bending. lol

LOL ARE YOU SERIOUS? That reason you gave was so stupid. Stop trying to defend Apple, they f***cked up and they know it. Just watch when they use thicker material in the second batch of these phones

This is what we need now!!!

comparison between 5S and 6 and 6 Plus. Maybe a 4 in there.

All scientifically measured!

We are all technically arguing about what degree of force it warps at. (and if it is reasonable)

They still won't believe you.

You're kidding right? One person purposely trying to fault an apple product suddenly apple needs to address this non-issue? The hate is strong with these folks.

I've never had a faulty apple product - if I did, i"d return it an get a good one. This is just a non-issue simply don't put the phone in your pocket. It pains to see how illogical this is to some of you who try to fault an apple product when there is nothing wrong with it spread so much FUD.

Aluminum will bend but it takes quite a force. I don't know how fat the OP is but i don't see this as a big deal. Move on, please.

You'll note that it bent right away, long before his hands started shaking. Not a whole lot but at least equal to the other pictures we've seen. Later, he bent it worse. This could easily happen the way that people are claiming it happened.

Again, this happened to my son's iPod touch (by me) and that's a thicker device.

And also again, I generally love Apple products including my present iPhone. I am not secretly up to no good or into androids or whatever other silly ideas are going through the heads of a few of yous. This is just a big ol' ruh-roh. We'll live with it and be careful but yeah - mine arrives in 3 days and when it does, there's a decent chance I'll trade it in for a 6. But even then, it's at risk and probably more so because it will be even more tempting to put in my pocket, haha. So I kinda sorta hope I just stick with the 6+!

If it weren't a big issue then this thread wouldn't have more 30 pages and everyone wouldn't be talking about it. Its a huge deal and Apple WILL respond just like the antenna issue on 4

Tell me about it! I had pizza last night and accidentally grabbed my 6+ and wrapped the leftovers with it!

More than one person.

It isn't a non-issue if it happens when just in a normal pant pocket. Sorry, I've been carrying cell phones in my pockets for 16 years. I have never caused trauma to a phone while it was in my pocket.

I'm not faulting anything. I hope it isn't a problem, I want to buy a 6.

Clearly that writer is a troll trying to make the 5 people in denial in this thread cry.

still don't get how he's trying to troll...

it's bent. with the phone being in his front pocket.

EDIT: writer even shows how loose his pants were by shoving an iPad mini (same pants that bent his 6)

Here's the pants I was wearing when that iPhone 6 was bent. I put my Retina iPad Mini in the same pocket to demonstrate how loose they are.

Also, my iPad returned from the adventure unscathed. I'll be honest, I didn't even know it fit in that pocket until just now.
