This thread is a cluster of confusion and trolls.

People on both sides mistreating information, people making things worse by trying to defend something that doesn't exist, misappropriated good intentions that lost the plot, and over the top hyperbole about things that are only meant to cause drama.

You can't really trust any posts from now on because this topic is now a hot spot for Apple hatred.

People in the 4.7 camp trying to attack the 5.5 people to feel better about their purchases teamed up with Android trolls.

Paranoid much?

Sides? This isn't a war, it is a stupid cell phone.

More of this 4.7 vs 5.5 stuff......wow.

Apple providing choices this year really messed up the followers.

Feel bad for those with the bent phones--like a scratch on a new car! I appreciate the thread, as it will remind me to be more careful with mine.

Why would I make an account and make up a story?

Sure

Yup - not good! Don't listen to them. There are some bizarrely defensive people on here. Lots of all or nothing blanket statements. It's not good, what we're seeing, but it may not be the end of the world. Apple should cover it, and you'll get a case. It's still a good phone in most ways, though it would be nice if none of you had to deal with this. But no one died (yikes - I hope!).

Haha no kidding!! Took the words right out of my mouth!

Clearly unless you can get video of the Woz using this phone to take a photo of Steve Jobs tomb then this is a fake and you're a Samsung plant...

There were plenty of dummy iPhone 6+ around even before launch day.

Screen on...otherwise it's a dummy phone!

Can you throw up a thumbs up with the phone on now? next to that same table?

Did it hurt when you sat down in the car that fast and it pushed up against you to bend?

How did you do that?

I felt the phones at the store and they are super solid feeling.

How did you feel as far as amount of pressure?

crazy, return those pluses!

We don't know if its legit for sure, its a new user and there is a titanic amount of motivation for ppl to troll.

@iBoost621: I would not pay for the warranty claim now, I would wait what Apple will say and do with those "curved" iPhones.

IMHO the mechanical design of this iphone6 is a complete fail.

1) The phone is very thin for the big size. That could be ok, but:
2) The frames on the left and right are not strong enough. And further:
3) The frame profile is curved and not straight which makes it more week.
The side frames are tube segments, rod segments would be more stable.
4) Aluminum is not aluminum. This seems to be soft AL99 or the like.
5) It has no internal frame to stabilize the phone. One more segment between circuitboard and battery could be implemented very easy and fix the problem. Or make the side frames 50% more thick.

Why not use stainless steel or titanium ? Even very moderate priced watches are available in titanium. Titanium has a very stylish grey color.

This is middle school physics, Apple has a big team of university degree engineers, how can this happen ?

We still don't think it can happen.

Ive tried the phone out at the store and it seemed sturdy.

I think its more a product of people getting jumbo sized phones en masse for the first time ever, and not realizing they are more sensitive by nature due to size and people still acting like they have an iPhone 4S in their pocket.

Jumping into cars?

Looking at the pictures. its a good thing you showed full resolution because that looks like a phone which fell on the ground looking at the nicks all throughout the sides of the phone. no wonder it bent

If I keep bending an iPhone 5 and 5S. it will bend too

So there was clearly already an issue with phones bending. Apple should have addressed this. But instead they made it bigger, thinner and, most importantly, replaced the straight edges with curved edges. This alone will significantly reduce the strength (think of a structural steel beam).

I would as a minimum have expected an internal skeleton to add strength. But in any case, it is for Apple to figure out how to create a phone that can survive normal day activities, such as carrying the phone in your FRONT pocket.

If there were that many issues with the 5, it will cause a *****torm with the 6+ (and probably the 6 too)

I will delay my purchase to see how this plays out...

I guess you are a product engineer? Have you told Ive you can build a better phone than him?

OH wait this is your first post at macrumors and you joined today?

LOLLLLLL

Oh look, a fanboy

It's a phablet. Please see the thread containing links to reviews, etc.

So what? You act like some international phone committee decides what is a phablet vs phone. Who cares what a reviewer or wiki wants to call it. It is a phone. Apple is NOT going to come out and tell 6 plus owners to avoid putting it in their pockets. That would be a PR nightmare.

What other cell phone has had an issue with being put in a pocket? If this was an android phone you all would be making fun of how easily it bends, but because it is a potential issue with an apple product you all are trying to excuse it.
Bingo

its the future. Samsung will now say apple is stealing from them againImage

The phones don't even bend.

People just have a problem with what Apple fans would say if it were in fact an issue.

its the way people reacted that made this thread so big.

But even they were misunderstood. They were trying to explain something innocent but it got blown out of proportion by people who want to see Apple fail.
