Who rides in a car with their phone in their pant pocket?
Plenty of people, myself included. It doesn't leave my pocket unless I'm using it.
Who rides in a car with their phone in their pant pocket?
Do you people really think you can put these in your pants pocket and not bend
it? C'mon a little common sense, Please!
I'm sure Apple will get the blame and be asked to replace it......amazing.....*face palm*
Why? Because someone has an issue?
If that's the case, you should give up your drivers license because I've seen people get into car accidents.![]()
Great comparison, except we have no control over the build quality of a phone but much control over how we choose to drive....
Modern smartphones aren't meant to be used as benches or surfboards.
But they are meant to be able to be carried in a front pocket. That's the most logical and clearly most used method of carrying a phone. Apple should have taken this fact into consideration during the design process.
Good point. I agree with you on that. But I think you can agree that we have a choice of what to purchase. If you doubt your purchase now, get a refund and move on. I don't doubt mine, but I'm willing to accept the rise that goes with owning it.
This might push me a little towards the 6. I have always carried my iPhones in a front pocket, and no bends yet.
Wow.
I can't believe some of the reactions in this thread. Putting a phone in a front pants pocket is something that millions of people do every day, and is absolutely normal behavior no matter how one defines normal. Logically, and within reason, behaviors one does with a phone in said pocket are also therefore "normal."
Based on the OP's description Apple should definitely replace this phone. No ifs ands or buts.
And, if these two incidents become a growing trend, Apple has a problem on its hands. If so, prediction: Apple releases a bumper or case made of a material with much higher rigidity and gives them to every 6+ owner, just like they gave out bumpers for a prior phone.
Apple's engineering should ensure that a *mobile* phone has sufficient casing strength to resist bending under normal usage conditions. Putting them into front and side pockets is normal for most folk.
Again, the plus is not a phone, it is a phablet. Presumably this is why people are buying it. You would try to sit on your iPad. It may take some getting used to, but caveat emptor.
It's called an iphone last time I checked. Plus at that. Not an iphablet or iPad. So please explain how it's not a phone again?
This really isn't good. I'm still waiting for my 6 plus to arrive, but I'm seriously considering sending it back and getting a 6.
There's absolutely no way this should happen. Prior to the launch there was no way of knowing how "pocketable" the iPhone 6 plus would be. I'm sure lots of you, including myself downloaded the 6 plus templates from the to see how large it would feel in your pocket. At no time did anyone think the phone would actually bend.
Fact is in the race to make the thinnest phone, Apple have gone and made something that's not rigid enough and a phone can only be described as not fit for purpose. This story is only going to get bigger as it happens to more and more 6 plus owners.
Apple will absolutely have to address this.
I don't see why someone would sit on their phone. Obviously they are not meant for sitting on.
It's called an iPhone PLUS for a reason. If a plus-sized person tries to fit into a pair of skinny jeans would it be alright for them to get a refund from Levi? I think not. Every reviewer has put the plus into the phablet category.
Sorry that this is news to you.
I'd sacrifice thinness to fix this.
