iPhone 6 may adopt IGZO screens as Sharp finally commercializes tech

http://www.idownloadblog.com/2013/1...screens-as-sharp-finally-commercializes-tech/

I believe a 4.5-4.7 inch device will be just fine and would enable apple to ditch the 4 inch platform and just release 1 device..They could still continue to sell the 5S and C alongside for those that require a smaller screen. A 4.7 inch screen designed intelligently should be acceptable to most looking for easy of use.

seriously though.. we all know the S releases are just add-ons and extra features. Battery and a display size are key factors for some people. Apple is average in both categories.

Average Display Size - 4.4 inch (Apple 4.0 inch)
Average Battery Life - 10 hours talk on 3G (Apple 8 hours for IP5,S is now 10 hours I believe)

No smartphone gets 10 hours of anything if its actually used normally. 10 hours is a marketing tool, yes its possible to get 10, but no one does if they use the phone normally. Im so sick of people coming in saying their phone is broken because it needs to be charged after 8 hours of use. Such a time an resource waster.

5S is crap. I can't wait for the 6. Thank you all for buying it though and driving up my stock price :)

Yeah the 5S is crap, which is why it's out of stock and sold out everywhere. Do you own an iPhone 5 and didn't upgrade or something?

The 5S is my 2nd iPhone, first was the 4S and again the 5S isn't crap. It's quite the opposite. This phone, yet again, is setting the bar, and leading in terms of performance and usability.

With that aside, I do think Apple is going to increase the screen size again for the 6, maybe 4.3-4.5" (I don't think any bigger because it took so many years for Apple to increase the screen by .5"), and I think the redesign will feature more rounded off edges for a more comfortable hold and probably made of more sturdy materials.

EDIT: It's funny I just Google searched "iPhone 6" and this mock-up is similar to what I picture. Those sort of edges, more screen real estate, smaller bezel or edge to edge display. This mockup has a 4.6" screen. Of course it's missing the home button, but besides that. Almost like a 5C that's not made of polycarbonate.

Should Apple still call the next Iphone the 6? Taking a cue from the Ipad Line (IPAD AIR) should they look to get out of numbers and give it something different? If it is larger, the Iphone X Perhaps?

Just a thought !

Predictions:

  • Bigger screen with thin bezels IZGO
  • Higher battery capacity due to increase in phone size & lg flexible folding battery
  • Touch ID II
  • WiFi AC+/Bluetooth 5.0/BLE Possible introduction of MiMo
  • iWatch Integration if released
  • NFC
  • Wireless Charging

This is a strech, but baseline model could be 32GB, not sure though since people are willing to fork out the $100 difference.

I don't know if Apple would want to fragment display sizes, but I think that they should offer a larger iPhone targeted at people who use their devices more for media, games, and videoconferencing than traditional talk/text/email.

I would have a lineup like this for Fall 2014:

"Standard" 4-inch display phones:
iPhone 6P, aka 6 "Pro"
iPhone 5CS, or 5C shell w' some 5S upgrades

"Large" 5-inch display phone:
iPhone 6M, aka 6 "Media"

I'd like to see better battery life and technologies that make secure payments easier. Two of my credit cards have chips inside that enable touch less payments on compatible Credit Card terminals. I'd like to see something on iPhone that allows the phone to be used like this, in conjunction with TouchID to prevent unauthorized use.

How about:

16 Gb : 150$
32 Gb : 299$
64 Gb : 399$
128 Gb: 499$

???

I don't think they'd fragment the price in such a strange manner, especially when people are willing to fork up the $199 for 16GB.

Apple's not really the type of company to fragment like that, at most they'd have two distinct models.

I agree with the bigger device that accompanies a bigger battery. NFC isn't that big in my opinion, now that Airdrop is available, but we'll see. Touch ID II needs to have more uses then just app store purchases and unlocks phone.

I highly doubt one will be 150 and the other 300. Honestly, 16GB should not be worth 200 anymore.

I would hope it's something like this:

16GB - $99
32GB - $199
64GB - $299
128GB - $399

This is what I would HOPE, I just cannot see someone pay 500 dollars with a contract. Thats just terrible, I don't care what GB it is.

I agree with everything you said but for the five inch device, I think it would be called iPhone 6L or something close. I will definitely get an iPhone at 5 inches. I think the height is cool, they just need to make it wider.

iPhone 6.... finally!

Just the mere mention of it no matter how erroneous the rumor / speculation / guesses may be, it's incredibly encouraging to think Apple just might create something fresh.

Perhaps they'll actually put 2014 to good use :)

What would touch id 2 have and Bluetooth 5.0 be? I hope the wireless charging is QI. All I know that my Verizon upgrade is next year in December and I am getting the next iPhone:)

Apple doesn't need a bigger screen size. Just look at the sales. They just need to work on the OS and hardware. Screen size ain't all that important.

They can give it a higher DPI, (i think that's what it's called) so it has more accuracy and can make it harder to be bypassed. Another thing would be more fingers. They could also give it to computers and an iTV remote so it can sign you into a specific profile.

My friend, you need to try out the LG G2 and get out of the iOS world. 3000mah battery, and can run for more than 2 days with moderate on screen time on a single charge.

I think they will go for Iphone Pro 4 or 5" for people after a big phone and the Iphone 6 will be the usual 4" phone with a 12MP camera, A8 processor, 32GB standard, NFC.

10 shares lol. I love guys like this who continue to increase my yields. Thank you for being so dedicated. Listen u don't have to justify your purchase to me. Just please continue making them. Oh, I'm the guy behind the scenes laughing at you consumers for buying into good marketing and high margin products. But, no really, spend money. Thanks.

So u bought in at $700 and r desperately trying to recoup lmao why don't u stop acting like a big shot which you're clearly not and keep quiet when u add nothing to the actual topic

iPhone 7:

Quantum Dot 5'3 inch 4k Display
A9 Quad-Core Processor
10000 mAH Battery
Magic Genie

I would rather have the phone with the far better build quality and support channel behind it. The phone with the largest app market behind it and the phone from a company that supports their products and one that makes their own software and hardware.

I also have no interest at all in a device the size of the G2 or one that runs Android OS...yuck.

Anyone can make a bigger phone and put a bigger battery in it. The iPhone's battery life is spectacular based on how small the phone is.

True but it's also pushing a smaller screen with lower PPI vs the 1080p on the G2.

To each their own at the end of the day, I guess.
