iPhone 6 Rumors..

WoW.. Imagine that..

** I heard that they are maybe going to bypass the iPhone 6 altogether and go 'straight to SEVEN'.. Cool, I can hardly wait!!

They really think an iPhone 6 would ship with iOS 7?

Same thing with A7, there is little less congruency between chip updates and new hardware but it seems they've been releasing new chips more frequently recently.

Come on people...get ahead of the game, Apple will change it up like they did with iPad

The next iPhone will be called...iPhone Air :D

Seriously, we have 9 months to figure out the name so the cat will be out of the bag and there will be no surprise at apple event...isn't that what the public wants...no surprises?

One thing is fairly clear that the Iphone 6 (or whatever the next iphone is called) will rock a larger screen. Whether it is 4.3 inches , 4.5 inches , 4.7 or a full 5 inches remains to be seen. I would like to see what direction Apple takes the IOS given the shift upwards of screen size (from 3.5 to 4 and going bigger). I particularly like Note 3s Multi display, thats something that makes use of the larger screen. Apple should in my opinion bring appropriate changes to IOS given that its chips are getting faster, screens bigger etc...It would be rather bland for me to see apple increase screen size significantly but not make the entire User experience more optimized for the larger display. The Multi window thing is only an example of what I like however i am sure apple can use the vast resources at its disposal to really fine tune the software to let us do a lot more innovative stuff with the larger real estate...

I also do not discount an Apple Phablet, given the demand for such devices in china and Asia in general..Its too big of a market for apple to pass on in the long run.

They'll be a iPhone Air, Air C - C will be 4inch, Air will be 4.5/7 both same specs other than battery and screen. That's my guess, same as the iPad Air and Mini. Same thing just different sizes, makes sense and everyone's happy.

There are already plenty of phones out there for people that want an iPad MiniMini sized one. Being all things to all people has never been Apple's style. Hence why there's no $199 iPad.

Although such a lineup does cover a lot more "PEOPLE" it adds to the sales and ultimately the profitability by tapping a market segment that is big and growing particularly in the all important emerging markets. By Not going for a bigger form factor Apple is kind of not tapping into a huge customer base that uses both the android or Windows phones, or is looking to ditch apple for them just because of the larger screen choices. GROWTH is everything and if there is clear demand in the market for such a device apple would be foolish not to tap into it in a big way. Even if apple sticks to 2 phones at the same time as they have done here they can bring a lot of value to their product by pushing a 4.3-4.5 inch iphone 6 that replaces the iphone 5S with a similar bump in screen size as was seen from a 4s to 5, and a Iphone 6X that is 5 or 5+ inches in size. The sales for such a family will be HUGE and i am willing to bet a lot on that. Apple however may look to go in for a 4.6-4.7 iphone6 and find a sweet spot and push a phablet to a later date, however i feel that the market is ripe enough for apple to enter and provide a product that takes the entire phablet experience much beyond what the current OEM's are doing (which is excellent btw in my opinion)..

12-15mp w/ seperate iso, white balance and focus options available in advanced section.

Visually, somewhat like the current 5th generation iPod Touch, but bigger (and smaller).

From an industrial design point of view, it can easily be argued that the 5th gen iPod Touch is a better hardware design than both the iPhone 5s and 5c..

This hypothetical new design would work with multiple screen sizes. Imagine an iPod touch, but sized for both a 4.7 and 5.7 inch screen…the larger would almost be like a “mini” iPad mini, but it's a phone. many colors, and metal, not plastic.

The 5th gen iPod Touch design is so good, it is near “timeless” and could go on for many years (except for the camera “bump”, and lose the strap). Advancement in shrinking component size could make this style work for even a super mini with a 3-4 inch screen, if not smaller.

This device, if done as described above, could and would replace the entire iPod line as well, except maybe the iPod Shuffle, the smallest iPod. Think of the streamlining in production.

I like very much the way you think sir. And I was hoping that the iPhone 5 would look more along the lines of the iPod touch at the time.

Regarding specs. The next iPhone is obviously going to have a bigger screen. It's been stated that they have evidence of two different screen variations they're working on, one 4.7 inch and one 5.7 inch. Whether those sizes are correct or not, it means that 1) they're doing 2 different iPhones again, and 2) they're doing a relatively smaller (~4.5 range) screen, and a rather large one (~5.5 range) to compete with the Note line, and Ultra line.

This makes 100% sense because Tim Cook spent a lot of time talking about how they released 2 different iPhones this year to address the "growing diversity of customers" that they are now acquiring in the market. So they will address this, as Tim Cook has also been very good at addressing the markets needs thus far - since his inception.

I think Touch ID II if it were to happen would be only applied through software and would simply mean you can purchase things on the web using touch ID. I'm still not 100% certain they'd do that though because I have a feeling they're going to do away with the rather large home button on the iPhone and put a capacitive one in it's place to fit a larger screen in there.

Not much else to speculate. Might be liquid metal case this time around, if not it'll be in the iPhone 7.

I believe Apple will release a larger display in 2014. How large, no one knows. It would be the most ideal that Apple would introduce an iPhone at 4.7" to compete with the HTC One, but the change of that happening is bellow 50%. Also, the chance that Apple releases a phone at 5" to compete with Blackberry's Z30 and the Galaxy S4 and the Note II are even lower then the 4.7". If I know Apple's arrogance, Apple's iPhone 6 will have a 4.3" display similar to Blackberry's Z10. Apple will boast that it has display resolution of 1280x640 (Still no HD resolution which is considered 1280x720 and FHD resolution at 1920x1080). Apple will claim that the 4.3" screen has 299ppi. As far as the device itself goes, the A8 will be 64 bit (as the iPhone 5S was the "first" of its kind) chip with a processor speed of a dual core 1.5 Ghz. (the processing power remains to be lower then the current products running on quad-core processors such as the quad-core 1.6 Ghz powering the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the quad-core 1.9 Ghz on the Galaxy S4 and all current phones powered by the 2.3 Ghz Snapdragon 800) The device will still boast a 1GB of RAM after 3 years of success. The camera resolution will be increased to 12 or 13MP but the camera UI will stay the same as it has been since iOS 1.0. Even with the Touch ID, the touch ID capabilities will not change from the 5S. As far as two phones again, unlikely as the 5C was not as much as a success as Apple has anticipated. To the innovators and geniuses having a 4.7" iPhone and 5.7" iPhone will bring Apple back up the ladder with the big boys, but unfortunately thats not going to happen. (at least not in 2014).

What do you guys think? I can see this happening, it was done with the mini. People want more tech in the phone and are going to have to pay for it. I could def see $50 increase in the next model.

Already plenty of people are leaving Apple for Android based phones. It isn't 2010 any more, there's genuine (quality) competition now.

If they did increase the price it wouldn't bother me, I would just buy the competitors phone, my loyalty is to my wallet.

When I upgrade from my 5 next year. Off contract, will be the choice of a:

Nexus 5 32GB, $399. Or latest equivalent,

IPhone X 32 GB, $749.

Especially if iOS8 continues the stuttering, crashing, wreck iOS is. They are going to have a hard time luring me with a $350 premium cost for a **** experience. AllThingsD things that divide will grow further. Just that much more push.

I'm fully vested in Google Apps, Picasa photos, Drive, etc. back when Apple kicked my custom domain out of MobileMe. My Google acct. is all ready for they next time they give me the boot.

I do not want 1080, I want retina that will scale PPI to maintain a seamless sharp image, not limit it to a set number with increasing sized screens and such pixel sizes. Whoever wrote that has no clue about displays and was just typing rubbish to get views on their post.
But if the resolution isn't increased, the picture will look smooth and you won't notice the pixels, but they will not be as sharp as a 1080p display with a much higher ppi than retina.

Retina is only a standard apple used to described the ppi on a certain display. If you play a 1080p video on a iphone, while you won't see the pixels, the image will be significantly softer than on a 1080p phone.

Just compare a 1080p video on a HTC One(1080p) and on the Moto X(720p)
