32GB minimum? No thank you. I will wait for the 8GB model, I prefer my phones crippled. Just kidding. I think 16GB would be fine for basic model, even though most will want 32GB or 64GB. Only few people need more than that currently, but it may change if the camera saves big photo / video files. 4K would definitely benefit of big storage.

Why do you need a mobile phone with 128GB of space? I got 16GB and im not getting over 12GB in total.
2-3GB Spotify, then tons of photos, and games.

Porn takes up great storage in HD ;)

No he's not, 64GB is nothing these days, if you take 1080p videos you run out of space very fast. Plus most hi-end games are 1GB+ in size.

128GB should be an option.

This is exactly it. I had a little boy 6 months ago, the videos have really filled up my phone. I exported a 6 min one to my Mac, pretty sure it was over 500MB.

Sounds like perhaps the new way Apple will organise things in iOS 8 might overcome some of these running out of room problems.

Assuming iPhone is happening in September, this rumor has a 1/4th chance of being correct. Good. Job.

If they offer a 16gb model I'd prefer that. My current 4S has 7gb free...

What do you guys keep on your phone? I'll admit I don't take a lot of photos or videos and only have 2 screens worth of apps. iTunes Match keeps most of my music in the cloud, data plans are cheap so I stream everything.

If you have iTunes Match and with photos going to iCloud in iOS8 won't that free up the majority of your internal storage? Those who want 128gb what do you store on your phone that you need that much space? I'm a few generations behind (4S) is there an easy way to use newer iPhones as a thumb drive (portable storage)?

After taxes $900 for the entry level model....I think I will be passing up on this phone. Does anyone else not feel that is a little crazy for a phone!?

That is nearly a 30% increase for people who do not need more storage just to have the newest phone.

Some people just feel the need to have their 17 TB collection of cat videos with them at all times...

Some people do. Lots of music, lots of videos. And lots of apps. It's not unusual for iOS apps to be larger than 2GB these days. Also, videos these days are taking up more storage due higher quality. Plus there's always the element of 'better safe than sorry'.

The iWork apps that come with the phone, if you choose to accept -- that's already 4GB or so before you've even started. 16GB is pathetic in 2014 and 32GB should be the absolute minimum. Plus it's not like it's costing Apple much -- component difference for Apple between 16-32GB isn't more than a couple of dollars.

There are loads of other reasons as well for 128GB that I can't think of off the top of my head; I'm sure another few MR members will help me out :)

Apple has sold something like 90 million iphone 5's. Multiply "a couple of dollars" times 90 million and let me know what that comes out to be as the additional cost to apple. HINT: It's a big number.

I frequently get storage warnings on my 16Gb 4s ; 3Gb music, 2Gb photos, 5Gb apps and 2Gb other stuff. Taking photo's / videos can eat up the remaining space.

All of a sudden 4.7 inch is the perfect size now among MR community.

Sigh. Stop with this kinda comments already. I don't want a 4.7 inch. But that's what Apple is heading now so we have no other choice if we want an iphone.

So? They charge 3 times as much as the phone is worth. They just need to quit being greedy.

What's the point of making quadbillion dollars if it's just going to some random bank account? That's the problem with this economy.

I just thought that's what people said (about not wanting a bigger screen) because they were defending their iphones from android.

Not wanting a bigger screen...kinda weird.

You can store a lot of music on your phone (not all music is on Spotify), and you can store TV seasons and movies on your phone. I currently have 1.5 GB left on my 64 GB model, and the extra space would be nice.

A lot of people, myself included, don't stream as much music as we have in our iTunes libraries. We've spent years ripping our CD collections into HD files, which can be as large as 12MB for one song. That being said, I also like to shoot travel videos with the HD camera.

So combine nearly 15,000 songs with HD video and you run out of room quite quickly. I have a 64GB iPod Touch that I have to keep deleting things from to keep using it.

So, for me at least, a 128GB iPhone makes perfect sense. :D

NO, but it is the only option to get the latest technology with the smallest screen/phone size.

I always said, I don't care if they make a bigger phone, as long as they keep the current size as an option. I am pretty pissed that I am forced to get a bigger phone if all I care about is the newest technology.

Well, I guess I have to suck it up and get the bigger screen, even if I would prefer to keep the current size - I will survive..

iTunes Match would solve your music for $30/y. Do you watch TV on your phone or do you carry it to AirPlay to other devices?

Those of you begging for 128GB...why? You are going to run into the same issue. My iPhoto library is 73GB. I have 6.3TB in my iTunes library. It'd be nice if Apple could make a RAID 10 8TB model. Sure my phone won't be as thin but I'm sure Apple can compress the 8TB down to 1".

On a serious note, the iPhone 6 should be starting at 32GB by now. And go up to 256GB.

Video. Documents. When you say 'tons' of photos, how many exactly? 5.5" will replace most people's tablets, and this could be their only portable 'computer'.

Personally, I couldn't go below 32GB.

Why does one buy a 60" tv when a 42" will work just fine?
Why does one need a full size SUV vs a smaller sedan?
Why does one want a 5.5" phone over a 4" one?
Why do ugly women wear makeup?
Why do we still have racist in 2014?
Why does Macrumos flipflop every other day with these stories?
Why does one need a tablet when they own a computer?
To answer your questions

1: If a 60" TV fits it is better to watch movies then on a 42", if you are a gamer it is worse.
2: To carry more people, but it isn't always needed.
3: Here I'm stuck, a 5,5 inch is larger making it difficult to use one handed or in some cases put in your pocket. But the bigger screen makes it more fun to game / watch movies etc at the same time if you want to watch a movie, use a iPad or a Notebook.
4: It better
5: I don't know
6: I don't know.
7: Everyday I think: " Why do I have a PC or Macbook when I have a iPad"

The 16 gig 5S is £529 in the UK, which (today) equates to $897.

I can second this, i paid £629 for the 32GB model iPhone 5S. I'm hoping that the iPhone 6 doesn't cost more than £700. I've not decided if I will get the 4.7" or the 5.5" but I'm hoping that neither of them go over £700.

Please apple, give us a 128gb version :(
I want to store all my breaking bad and walking dead seasons and also my whole mp3 collection,
Samsung's owner got micro sd card slot for this, we don't... -_-
