Personally I'm more than happy with 32GB and 64GB configs; however, is not crazy at all to ask for a 128GB model.

Using the current conversion rate, that would make the most expensive model £849 in the UK ($1,441). Not going to be able to afford that.

I registered just to ask this:

Why do you need a mobile phone with 128GB of space? I got 16GB and im not getting over 12GB in total.
2-3GB Spotify, then tons of photos, and games.

128 is a bit large, but my iTunes music library is well over 20GB. I haven't been able to just do a full sync in forever on my 4S.

So first we had "Two new sizes to launch, 4.7" and 5.5"", then we get reports of the 5.5" being delayed, then them launching together. Then it being delayed, then them launching together. So now we are back to the 5.5" being delayed?

I might have to go up to a 64Gb finally :)

I was planning to in any event, but this is welcome news that I will stay at my price point (assuming this rumor holds true)

Makes sense to drop to 2 storage options with the introduction of 2 screen sizes.

So iPhone 6 will come in 32GB and 64GB variants, and 4.7" and 5.5" sizes.

4.7" @ $199/$299
5.5" @ $299/$399

This works with the iPad scheme. You can get more storage or larger screen for the same price.

And a quick check of vzw.com...

I don't want a iPhablet!!!!

@Apple:
I prefer following:
4 inch iPhone
4.7-inch iPhone
5.5-inch iPhablet for blind persons ;-)

all in 32,64,128 GB variants.

Welcome to the forums.

1. People who have a large music collection.
2. People who have a large film collection.
3. People who use the iPhone as a backup or file transfer utility.
4. Purely for technological progress. Why not? Technology has to progress.
5. 16GB is just dirt chip, yet manufacturers are charging $100 for an extra 16GB, rip off! Enough of that.

iTunes Match uses a lot of data, and I already use enough of that. Thinking of T-Mobile's $70/month unlimited plan though.

It depends on how you use it. iTunes Match is intelligent, if you download tracks while you are on WiFi as you run out of space it will delete the tracks you haven't listened to lately. I make playlists for different activities, pull down a playlist with one tap while I'm on WiFi and let it cleanup old tracks. This way you have access to your entire library and you aren't using your cell data to play each song. I do stream some music when I'm not near WiFi (rare), I have a 2gb data plan and I usually only use around 1gb.

Apple has sold something like 90 million iphone 5's. Multiply "a couple of dollars" times 90 million and let me know what that comes out to be as the additional cost to apple. HINT: It's a big number.

And Apple has something like ten trillion dollars in their back pocket. Multiply the 16GB starting storage space by the amount of times Apple tout about not shipping junk, and how they want the best experience for consumers, and let me know what that ends up with. HINT: It's double-standards and pathetic for somebody of Apple's quality.

So? They charge 3 times as much as the phone is worth. They just need to quit being greedy.

What's the point of making quadbillion dollars if it's just going to some random bank account? That's the problem with this economy.

I just thought that's what people said (about not wanting a bigger screen) because they were defending their iphones from android.

Not wanting a bigger screen...kinda weird.

It's called capitalism. Their job as a publicly traded company is to make as much money as possible for their shareholders. Thanks to Cook, they've been able to reap those benefits much more than Jobs ever allowed. The money you earn goes into some "random" bank account as far as I'm concerned. Should we start telling you what to do with your own money?

$1,000 Seriously?

It's a FREAKING PHONE! I think I'm jumping off the smart phone bandwagon. ATT just replaced my broken 4s with a 5 two weeks ago and I'm finally out of contract, so I think I'm just keeping the 5 for a few years and maybe go with a pay as you go plan. Tired of paying a small fortune for these damn phones and plans.

16GB has been enough for me so would have preferred the same again but I'd rather get a 32GB on launch day than wait.

Why do you Care?

Why do you care if a lot of people want a 128gb phone. It annoys me when people act like their needs are the only ones that matter. It's like back in the day I went into Apple or Best Buy and when they were out of the 32GB versions the response would always be "you don't need it get the 16gb."

I have 5 gigs available on 64.

I would definitely spring for the 128 if available.

Almost definitely going with the 4.7". I can use that with one hand probably fine. The 5.5" is too big for me I think. I like one handed use for some stuff.

Oh, and I think they are changing the name to iPhone Air (or at least just the 5.5").

My guess is the 4inch phone will be a 6c - 5 internals and plastic case or just keep the 5c

Nice try but apple's market cap is a little over 500 billion. Also, if you pull up sales numbers by capacity on a site like ebay, the 16gb is FAR ahead of the 32gb and 64gb. The 32gb and 64gb are about on the same level. The trend is that the majority of people don't use the larger capacity so to apple its not worth the half a billion in additional costs to please the 2%. It's called business strategy and they seem to be doing fine with it so far.

24.6GB Photos & Camera
23.2GB Music

Not much room for everything else. Currently only 76MB free.

so what you are saying, workflow.

I usually listen to top 20 albums at the same time, and it takes me 5minutes to put them on my phone while I'm behind my computer (thats 80% of my day excluding sleeping). I regularly dump photos from it because it gets too cluttered and annoying to have them on my phone anyway, so I will need to do it eventually.

edit: also, i had a 64GB ipad1, now I have a 16gb iPad Mini retina, so its not that I haven't tried a larger device, its just my workflow. :)
