My wife 2 cracked screens with a life proof case nuud.(iPhone 5,5s)
Myself zero, but multiple friends cracked destroyed screens speck cases, and no case.

Zagg tempered glass feels smoother to me. It also wipe prints away easier.. imo

it also doesnt give me that "i want to peel this thing off" feeling that plastic screen protectors do. once you go glass, you never go back.

Yes the Zagg is probably the best IMO.

a 'good' screen protector will not deminish the quality of your screen. The advantages of a screen protector outweigh the risks of not having one.

I have had iPhones for almost 7 years now. I have cracked plastic backs. I have shattered screens. I have dented corners, messed up speakers, and damaged volume buttons. I once replaced an iPhone because ice cream got inside of it.

The one thing that has never happened to me has been a scratched screen.

I think screen protectors are the biggest scam. Unlike cases they actually degrade your usage of the phone and all to prevent something that I think is incredibly unlikely.

It's overkill and it keeps you from using your phone properly. They're all terrible.

all it took to scratch my iPhone 5 screen was going to the beach for a day

loving my Tech Armor ballistic glass for 6+

I think it was ~$9 from amazon, looks and feels great

i havent used a protector since the 4 and never had an issue. i already have the tiny scratches. some say its the coating. its been 2 months and i see at least one. i baby this thing. it has the be the phones screen. or the fact that maybe since its more screen surface, things are more likely to rub on it or brush on it. nothing else goes in that pocket, ever.

Never used a screenprotector or case or anything like that on any iPhone I've owned, and the iPhone 6 is by far the most scratch resistant iPhone so far. Nothing like the 5/5S.

Didn't use a screen protector for the first week of owning, suddenly looked at my phone and had a deep scratch I could feel with my fingernail. Absolutely no clue how it happened, I keep it on its own in a jacket pocket in a case. Think it may have been when cleaning the screen with a cloth.

Oh well, I took it to the Genius Bar for an unrelated issue and it was replaced. Suffice to say, I put a screen protector on straight after - it definitely scratches more easily (or at least there's a larger surface to scratch!) than the 5 series.

All's well that ends well.

Sorry, Zorba, but there is no way this is true for the display. The back of the 6 is probably more scratch-resistant, but not the front.

To the OP: you should also ask whether people have Space Gray or White/Gold. Scratches to the display are almost always more easily visible with the Space Gray. I would bet very few people who have this color and no case/screen protector don't end up getting scratches within a few weeks.

Also, just to clarify: it's a question of how easily the COATING picks up scratches, not the glass. I'm sure the glass they use is very strong, but the glass is basically irrelevant.

Yes, the screen scratches way easier than my iPhone 5's. Luckily I had an issue with my camera and the phone was replaced, but, the first one I didn't have a screen protector on and the thing had hairline scratches all along it's right side. I know how it happened too, it was from sliding the phone in and out of my jeans pocket and I assume the rivet on my jeans caused the scratches. I kept my iphone 5 in the same pocket and never had a single scratch on it from the rivets. Freakin' apple, love it but hate it.

I already have a scratch on my 6 Plus which is deep enough to see when the screen is on. I have no idea how this has happened, I've been somewhat careful with where I've placed my phone. I heard that some people were being successful in claiming replacements from Apple for this. I may take my phone into an Apple Store and try to get a replacement and then use a screen protector.

It's not good enough that they claim to have improved the hardness of the glass on the 6 and yet somehow made it more prone to scratching. I have many small hair line scratches on my screen which I've been ignoring, but when I noticed this deep one today it was the last straw.

My 3 year old iPhone 4S has yet to get a scratch, and I've put it in my pocket with keys before.

Granted I'm not going to do that with my new 6 on purpose, I wouldn't be too worried. Gorilla Glass hasn't gotten any less scratch resistant since the 4S, I'm sure.

No scratches

on my iPhone 6+ that I had for almost 2 weeks before I exchanged it. I took mine out of my case and checked it out before putting it into the box. My new 6+ gets the screen protector I was saving for the 128gb model on top of the case I already has. I doubt I will see any scratches with this one.

Get a glass protector.

They feel great and the peace of mind is priceless.

Are glass rootectors easy to take off?i have no experience with these by I imagine they would crack and shatter as one tried to remove them? How do you replace a broken glass screen protector? I need enlightenment!

Thanks

They raise off quite easily tbh but when you do, get all sorts of fluff on them.

I've had my iPhone 6 since launch with an Apple leather case only on it. I haven't gotten any scratches on it, but I am very careful with it.

Picked up today and wow ! Perfect easy install worry free now.
No finger print issues, fitment is grade A, and 5.00 off 29.00 :)

update on the quality and wear so far, cracked in 3 different spots, and they seem to get worse. Pretty annoying for a product that is guaranteed. I have not went out of my way to damage or be rougher with my phone.

Im using my 6+ completely naked. Although I'm extremely careful and it hasn't had any drops I'm finding it much LESS prone to scratches and generally looking better after a month of usage than my 5s did. Just my own experience. Also noticing the oleophobic coating seems to my holding up MUCH better than any previous iPhone.

I find it incomprehensible to use a $900+ phone (or any phone really) without basic protection of a good TPU case (minimally) and screen protector. Cheap insurance.

This is the screen protector that I use and to be honest with you I really can't tell that it's here or there.

Came here expecting to see more of this. I've had the naked 6 since launch and just noticed last night how well it's holding up, not even the smallest scratch or mark anywhere. My day one 6 is MINT.
