Plus... how is it "surprising" that a shorter piece of metal takes more force to bend than a longer piece? (in reference to the line starting "surprisingly...")

this is what I don't get why people don't understand....we can't be that stupid to not know this.....please humanity prove me wrong....

Every year there's a ridiculous amount of threads created hating on the
"new" design (iPhone 4 with the separation on the antenna band, iPhone 5 and the two-tone back) or some feature or something stupid and as soon as it is announced by Apple everyone forgets about the complaints.

That is, until the product gets released and then everyone flocks to find flaws in what they just purchased (antenna-gate, scuff-gate).

People were trying to make heat-gate happen but soon realized it was a non issue, so now we are going to settle on bend-gate?

I don't understand the mentality that we can't just be happy with our purchase, we have to create a reason to hate something. So many threads on this forum of people criticizing those who purchased the iPhone 6 Plus and vise versa.

attention is good even if its bad. nice work apple.

now for all the stupid people.....

if you drop it, it WILL break.
if you bend it, it WILL bend...

so what! don't do those things and there will be nothing to worry about.

even better put a freaking case on it.....

Wonder why he doesn't try to bend it the other way with the screen pointing towards him.

I had a 6 plus and a 6. I decided the 6 plus was just too big for me... so I took that one back, and I really love the 6. I know that everyone is saying, "oh if you try to break something, it breaks," and that is certainly the game everyone on the internet is playing now, but the fact remains that the early benders from this past weekend... those were just ordinary people who had it in their pockets.

Here's a thought....if you don't want a bent phone don't try and break it in half.

The 6+ he bent was already a bit bent. I wonder how difficult would it be to bend it from scratch.

That being said... I don't like this. Anyone knows if Apple has replaced these bent phones with refurbs?

...Surprisingly, the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 6 appears to be much less malleable than the larger iPhone 6 Plus...

Exactly why is this a surprise?

A long sheet of plastic is easier to bend than a short one. A long sheet of glass is easier to bend than a short one. A long sheet of metal is easier to bend than a short one. A long sheet of wood is easier to bend than a short one. Etc.

So, naturally, made from the same materials a big phone is easier to bend than a small one.

Well, that's apple's obsession with thin for you. iPhone Plus in your pocket seems to be a no-no. Understandable though.

Oh well, if my bends. Im just gonna have to buy another one. BTW that video seemed more like an AD for the New Moto X ( A much Thicker phone )

iPhone witch trials

So if the iPhone sinks its a bad phone?
So this is how we're rating tech now?
I want a phone that will stand up under a blow torch!

It seems like with antennagate, they'll just have to supply a bunch of complementary cases to 6+ purchasers, this time rigid.

Anyone who thinks that they can argue their lack of awareness and common sense concerning the placement of an iPhone 6 + in a normal sized pocket without ramifications has got to be a first class imbecile.

I cannot believe the idiocy that's out there.

Well at least the iPhone 6 fared well.

Well, you have people falling for the "you can recharge your new iPhone in the microwave" ploy so ... yeah, some people are not the smartest. Do not put metal things in the science oven!

Test it FULLY

Please someone who is willing to bend the phones ALSO have a forensics lab test to see if Apple ever bothered to heat treat the aluminum. Going from T0 to T6 makes a huge difference.
