I'm just impressed someone actually kept a phone almost four years. Amazing.
I've used Android phones for 7-8 years along with using Macs as my computers (plus I have an iPod Classic, 80gb), so I'm familiar with Apple devices (kids had iPod Touch devices a long time ago). Anyway, my wife had a 6+ and was claiming it was randomly shutting off or rebooting, etc, etc (basically, made-up sh*t to "justify" a new phone). She got one and I took her 6+ and have been using it since spring or early summer. It's still working okay although I'm contemplating replacing it with either an 8+ or an X. No hurry though....

Thanks everyone! I am so excited to get my 8 Plus (hopefully tomorrow)! I am looking forward to the bigger screen, better camera, and most importantly better battery life! My current 6 I have to charge usually twice a day now with heavy usage.

Question: How fast will the 8 Plus charge using the standard cable usb cable that comes with the phone and a 10 watt adapter? Apparently it supports fast charging?

Went from 6 to 8+. Very happy with the screen, battery life, and camera. It feels like the pinnacle of the previous design. I don't use a phone case. It takes a little getting used to putting it in the front jean's pocket (both weight and size).

Wife has the X. I love the blacks on the OLED. The notch really bugs me. I'm sure I'll change my mind on the notch when I see the X+ next year. :)

Not quite sure how since that phone has been out only a little more than 3
iTime(R) makes 3 years of realtime feel like many more. :)

I'm also one who has had my 6 for 3 years as well. Recently got a new phone for my wife she wanted the 8+ to replace her 6 year old Nexus and I really like the size and features. As my battery life seems to be slowly getting less and less I will probably take the upgrade myself and wait and see how the X series of phones develop over the next couple of years before I make that leap.

I bought my 8 Plus space grey 256gb last night and have it in an OtterBox Commuter. Very pleased with it so far and definitely a worthwhile upgrade from the 6. The 6 screen seems small now! The battery is the best thing about it so far and that was much needed for me! I used the phone for 4 hours and 11 minutes so far today and I’m still at 69%! Amazing! I won’t ever have to worry about putting it on the charger twice a day. I will just need to charge it overnight and I’m set!
[doublepost=1512883746][/doublepost]The camera does stick out more than I thought it would! How durable/scratch resistant is it? Do you guys have a protector or anything over the camera?

Also, who’s using a screen protector for their 8 Plus?

The camera has a sapphire crystal lens cover, so it should be pretty durable. I have the Apple silicone case, and it is slightly thicker than the camera bump, so when the phone lies on a flat surface the camera doesn't touch the surface. Check if this is the case with your Otterbox.
As for a screen protector - I bought a pack of Polaroid iPhone 6/6s+ screen protectors for £3 at my local supermarket and they fit a treat. They completely cover the screen, but leave a very small border of the glass front exposed. I like this form as it doesn't interfere with the case.
I have just ordered a pack of these too, which seem to be highly regarded:

I don’t like the 8 Plus not but being pocketable which is important to me. That’s why I like the 6/7/8 chassis. Actually I’m happy with the 4.7” screen almost the sweet spot for a smartphone. I do watch a lot of Netflix on my 8 and it’s been great just like it was with the 6/7. The only gripe I have with the 8 non Plus is battery life. I’m a pretty heavy user and I absolutely need a portable Anker power bank.

Tried the X for 2 weeks and in a Otterbox Symmetry case which is my 2nd favorite case, and it made the X huge for bonafied 1 hand use. That’s why I returned it and got an 8 non Plus. Looks like people like me who enjoy the 8 non Plus chassis are sh*t out of look in the future. Unless they make the SE 2nd generation into something. It’s not about the price for me. I would pay premium for either an edge to edge screen in an 8 chassis or possible and edge to edge on an SE 2nd gen.

Yeah I have an OtterBox Commuter case on mine and it is larger around the back camera, so it sits in the case a little deeper which is nice! It should not be a problem in my pocket, especially since it has a sapphire lens cover which I didn’t know about! Is that a new feature with the 8 Plus?

I just picked up a 5 dollar screen protector at Walmart...should be good enough!

Went from the 6s to the 8+
Love the bigger display and the second camera, I'd say I use the telephoto lens for most pictures, even without the portrait feature.
X is better, I like the OLED display but I'm not a fan of the aspect ratio, the phone is too tall and weird to use in landscape mode.

I went from the 6s to 8+, and I haven’t yet experienced the downside like when I went from the 5s to 6s. In other words, I think the 6 chassis to a plus chassis is an easier transition than 5 chassis to 6 chassis.

And I love the larger keyboard and battery life. I also like the haptic feedback. Yes, pocket ability sucks, but that ship sailed with the 6 chassis.

How on earth do you put a screen protector on without getting any dust or small hairs between it and the screen? I tried so many times and just decided that having a few hairs/specks isn’t the end of the world! Anyone get it perfect though?

I want to grab a few more screen protectors from Amazon as they are expensive (35+) anywhere else. Recommendations?

Try using an adhesive tape and tap it on the screen to collect the dust then place the screen protector.

Install the screen protector by your bathtub after filling ur bathroom with steam from the hot shower water running. It’ll prevent any dust from flying around.

You can't go wrong with either the 8 plus or the X (or even the 8 if you'd like).

Both will be a significant upgrade over the 6. Just play around with both and see which one you prefer, then buy it.

Thanks for the help guys! I’m going to buy a couple good screen protectors from Amazon tonight. Seems to be the cheapest place to buy them!

Also, I thought that I had a defective/bad hardware iPhone 8 Plus because I could not get my vibrator switch to work when I put the phone on silent. Then I reset all my settings and YAY it works now! Whew...although it is a much lighter vibrate than what I had with my iPhone 6. Is this normal?

How so? I don’t know if I like the idea of losing the quickness of the home button. And my personal opinion, the notch on the X looks strange and unnatural.

It's because iPhone 6 to iPhone 8 feels like upgrading to iPhone 6 Plus only. In terms of design it's actually 3 years old and doesn't feel an upgrade.

In reality, People especially in Asia will Assume that you're still using an iPhone 6 Plus even you just upgraded to iPhone 8 Plus. You may be ignoring what other people think about your iPhone 8 but DEEP inside your HEART you are currently HURT from inside and you will realize that you made a mistake that iPhone X is a better choice over the iPhone 8 Plus. because of Latest design, as well as someone with OLED screen.

Physically, the iPhone 6 and 8 highly resemble each other. But in terms of the actual upgrade internally, it’s massive. All the way from the water resistance, wireless charging, 3D Touch, True tone, stereo speakers, upgraded camera, haptic home button, etc. It certainly does feel like an upgrade once you actually use the phone and realize all the rounded improvements.
