The iPhone 6 was my first iPhone. My then 4 year old Android phone was starting to die. So at launch day, I decided to take a dive into the iOS world and purchase a new iPhone 6. It has been rock-solid reliable for me. So much so that I wanted to stay in the iPhone family for my next purchase. I wanted to like the X. But I dislike the BUN (Big Ugly Notch) and it's lack of TouchID. And generally I like the familiarity of the design and function of the iPhone 8 Plus (including it's Home Button).

I figure my iPhone8 plus has 90% of the goodness of the X. Yet at a lower cost and the same look/design that I grew to like about my original iPhone 6. Hopefully the same reliability as well. Just playing with it the last couple of days, I really really like it. So much easier to type on than my 6 was.

I made the decision that I felt was right FOR ME. I couldn't care less is someone thinks my iPhone8 Plus is an iPhone 6+ or not. I bought it because it suits my needs best. Others will most certainly feel differently. Good for them. Choice is good.

As for me right now, no complaints at with my new iPhone 8 plus.

It's because iPhone 6 to iPhone 8 feels like upgrading to iPhone 6 Plus only. In terms of design it's actually 3 years old and doesn't feel an upgrade.

In reality, People especially in Asia will Assume that you're still using an iPhone 6 Plus even you just upgraded to iPhone 8 Plus. You may be ignoring what other people think about your iPhone 8 but DEEP inside your HEART you are currently HURT from inside and you will realize that you made a mistake that iPhone X is a better choice over the iPhone 8 Plus. because of Latest design, as well as someone with OLED screen.

the only person i'm out to impress is myself - couldn't care less what other people think

it's only a phone at the end of the day ....

to be so insecure is a bit sad tbh - smh

the 8plus is an amazing phone - wish i could justify the expense :)

Ironically I recently just traveled to Asia prior to upgrading to an iphone 8 plus lol
honestly no one cared (they were more interested in my Case design than the phone)

If you're looking for something flashy to show off then sure go for the X, but I still have no regrets choosing my 8+ from an X.

I actually had a couple iPhones, the 4s, the 5s, and the 6s. Enjoyed them even though there were things I did not like about Apple. Actually liked the Apple Watch too but the square design was a bit lame.

Made the switch to the Note 8, and actually wouldn't mind having a phone with the screen size of the s8/s9.
The X is nice screen size but it is pricey, and I hear YouTube videos are compressed (???), and a lot of apps are not optimized for the unique screen size yet.

Part of me wants to go back to the Apple maybe an 8+, for the dual cameras and the fact that I can use the Apple Watch, and ear pods. The 8 seems a bit small and no new camera functions.
Another part says stick with the Note 8, and my final part says go to an S9.
I do like the Gear S3 as well, so I am a bit indecisive at the moment.

I tried the iPhone X here in Peru and just hated it with all my heart. Looks really nice but I prefer the Touch ID than facial recognition.

So, I upgraded from 5s to 8 and and still getting use to a bigger screen, but loving it.
