The iPhone 6 was my first iPhone. My then 4 year old Android phone was starting to die. So at launch day, I decided to take a dive into the iOS world and purchase a new iPhone 6. It has been rock-solid reliable for me. So much so that I wanted to stay in the iPhone family for my next purchase. I wanted to like the X. But I dislike the BUN (Big Ugly Notch) and it's lack of TouchID. And generally I like the familiarity of the design and function of the iPhone 8 Plus (including it's Home Button).
I figure my iPhone8 plus has 90% of the goodness of the X. Yet at a lower cost and the same look/design that I grew to like about my original iPhone 6. Hopefully the same reliability as well. Just playing with it the last couple of days, I really really like it. So much easier to type on than my 6 was.
I made the decision that I felt was right FOR ME. I couldn't care less is someone thinks my iPhone8 Plus is an iPhone 6+ or not. I bought it because it suits my needs best. Others will most certainly feel differently. Good for them. Choice is good.
As for me right now, no complaints at with my new iPhone 8 plus.
