I'm torn on this as I have a few applications which are iPad only that I need to use regularly.

If, however, I feel the 6 plus is comfortable enough with iBooks, Pages and Netflix, I will have to seriously think about it.

The wife would be mad, I only bought it a few months ago after moaning for ages that I wanted it.

Not getting rid of the iPad, but I will not have the need to take it out of the house anymore, which I do many times now; the iPhone 5S is just too small for any large-screen use, such as browsing, watching YouTube or writing long emails.

The 6+ is a compromise-hybrid device of sorts; not a good tablet, not a perfect smartphone (too big), but it'll do both functions pretty well.

I can see a lot of iPad Mini owners having a hard time justifying keeping both devices, though.

The perfect combination, for me, is my rMacbook Pro 15 + iPad Air + iPhone 6+. This 3 devices complement each other pretty good for my typical uses.

I'm not.

The 6+ is small compared to my iPad Air.

There are apps for which I prefer the iPad version.

I still use my iPad Air at work, so I'll need to keep it. My wife may give up her iPad mini though..."give up," as in let the kids have it.

I'm going to keep it since I read a lot off my iPad. Looking forward to a bigger phone screen though.

I read iBooks on my iPad mini retina too. Haven't read a paper book for ages. I am hoping I will find reading OK on the 6+ and sell the iPad mini.

One supporting fact is that the basic Kindle is a 6 inch screen so not much bigger than the 5.5 inch. Also I have on occasions read books on my 5s. You can make the text large, so it is basically a question of how frequently you tap for a new page.

Not me. I mainly use my iPad in bed for watching Netflix and browsing, and I would not want to take a step down in screen size in that situation. I will say that I will probably be a bit less inclined to use the iPad in some other situations where I might have in the past, such as in the kitchen for checking recipes, lounging in the yard, etc.

Trading in my iPad 2 for $110 and selling my iPhone 5S 64GB on eBay and bids are up to $555.

No need for that old iPad with the 6+ and a MBP

Keeping it so my younger brother has so,egging to keep him occupied when he visits plus I like it too much to get rid.

Between the Note 3 and iPad, I sold my Note. It could not handle tablet duties to my liking as far as videos and gaming were concerned.

I am not saying some folks cannot get away with a phablet for those things but I think the overall higher percentage would rather use a tablet.

I was considering selling my 32GB iPad Air but then I remembered Fireproof is releasing The Room 3 and that was reason enough to keep it. I know that sounds ridiculous but then again, I bought the Playstation 4 because of Destiny and Uncharted 4.

The iPad Air is going to provide a much more pleasant visual experience than the 6+. Sorry, no dancing around that. Sure, you can make do with a 6+, but I'm always reaching for the Air. If it's within reach.

And the mini with retina will do the same over the 6 + as well, just maybe not quite the visual experience of the Air. :)

I had the Note 3, could not overtake my Mini for visual and wow preference.

Yeah, I don't buy into the iPhone replaces the iPad thought process. For some it might, but most folks appreciate a bigger screen when given the option. Portability is the issue, but you are not always on the move.

I have a 6.4" Xperia Z Ultra and can tell you there is an enormous difference between it at 16:9, and the iPad mini's 7.9" @ 4:3. Enormous. Given the 6+ is quite a bit smaller than the Ultra there is no chance of me giving up my Mini. It remains much better to browse and read than my phone so gets a lot of use at home. When out and about the Ultra sufficiently sized and of course pocketable.

Yes. Definitely. My iPad Air doesn't get much use at the moment and I'm 100% sure that 5,5" iPhone replaces iPad perfectly.

I've already gotten rid of it, not for 6+ though. I may get the big one when the new ones are out.
