My Silver 64GB Verizon ordered at 3:04 EST stills has a shipping date of 9/25.

This is what mine says when I went to place the order just now. I really hope that is not the actual ship date. My iPhone 4 finally died and I am using a cheap (and stupid) Android phone that I am ready to set on fire. I tried to reserve in all the stores around me on the 12th and they were all sold out of the model that I need.

Yes, that's a real ship date right now. 6s+'s and rose gold together are the furthest out right now. I don't recommend you just put any model in, they can't give you a phone if they don't have it.

If my pre-order slipped backwards (especially since I have a 10/16-21 with my Space Gray 6s+ 128Gb), I'd be tempted to cancel it and take my luck with the AT&T store stock. I have a few of them around me.

(Since I'm an Unlimited data user, I have to use AT&T rather than Apple.)

I was told differently by AT&T last week, prior to placing my pre-order: you can bring an Apple-purchased phone and keep your unlimited data plan. Purchasing is an independent process; you assign the phone to the plan you have, unless you want to change plans.

I was lazy, didn't get order in until around 12:40am Apple Time, my confirmation email didn't get here until 10:15am, and I'm still on track for 9/25 delivery on my 65GB Space Gray 6s. Ordered from Apple through the app. Whole thing sounds bogus, especially since the OP hasn't posted any details of his friend's order (when and from who?), and keeps throwing around stuff about boats (Apple doesn't ship iPhones by boat).

I just ordered mine two hours ago, still shows 9/25. I got the rose gold 6s 16gb which I'm sure isn't that popular... It better not slip. :'(

My order slipped.

Was originally Oct 1 - 7. Looks like it slipped by 5 days.

So what models seem to be slipping? Is it the 6 Plus only? I will be beyond bummed if my date slips.

My work is already tired of hearing my talk about it!
I wasn't even going to get it, until I decided to be nice and give my husband my new 6 Plus. I preordered this morning and was shocked to see some still available. Hopefully that doesn't bite me in the butt and change to a later date.

Would you cancel it in the store after you're sure the model you want is in stock or cancel it before you go and cross your fingers?

Be careful with that. I don't know about the stores around you, but I went to the one near me over the weekend to ask them about upgrading my daughter's phone and they told me they can't upgrade the grandfathered unlimited plans in store, it has to be done online. It's possible he was just saying that though because he was being awfully pushy about the Next plan, even after I said I wasn't interested...

Thank you for the heads-up on that one; I can't imagine why the stores couldn't honor the type of contract that I have, they are AT&T official. They are probably told to someway, any way, to pry your claws out of that unlimited contract.

That is food for thought, and make sense. I calculated with my 6s+/128 pre-order that the subsidy ends up saving me only $90 over the 2 years. So that might well be worth the price of getting it in my hands quicker; but truth-be-told, I'd probably just wait for my pre-order to be delivered.
