The first batch of customers that pre-ordered the iPhone 6s are beginning to see their order statuses change from "Processing Items" to "Preparing for Shipment" on Apple's website. There have been no specific reports of order status changes on the iPhone 6s Plus yet, but the larger smartphone should also begin seeing movement soon as the September 25 launch approaches.

The customers that have seen early movement on their iPhone 6s pre-orders all appear to live outside of the United States, with order status changes occurring in Canada, France, Germany and the United Kingdom. Apple has also begun charging credit cards for some of these customers, which is common at this point in the pre-order process but earlier than usual this year.

While some orders are now moving to the "Preparing for Shipment" stage, new iPhones will be held at FedEx, UPS and other couriers for delivery until September 25. In rare cases, however, some customers might receive their iPhone slightly earlier.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus shipping estimates range between September 25 and October 2 for several customers, but some iPhone 6s Plus and Rose Gold models may ship later due to stronger demand.

Apple began accepting pre-orders on September 12 at 12:01 AM Pacific in the U.S. and eleven other countries, with shipping estimates quickly slipping to 2-3 weeks or later for the most popular models.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s launch on September 25 at Apple Stores and authorized resellers in the United States, Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the United Kingdom.

Nothing new. "Android's statuses have been doing this for years"

Wow, that's early. Seems they're learning from past mistakes.

No, nothing has changed from any other year. These are shipments that are currently located in China and need to be shipped to the US.

For many of us, our phones are already located stateside and we will not see any shipment status changes (it will say "processing") up until the night before we are to receive the phones.

I've ordered every iPhone made. My shipment status has never changed until the night prior to me receiving it. For the iPhone 5 I went to bed with the status still saying "processing," and actually received it the next morning and the status changed to "shipped" about 30 minutes after I had it in my hands.

They haven't shipped one to me yet... probably because I didn't order one. $1029 for a 64GB 6S... no thanks. Especially when you would be ordering more than one. I miss the days where iPhones were cheaper.

This is a newsworthy topic?

Cue in all the threads now for people stuck "In Processing" who are freaking out!!

When did you order?
Apple app? Or website?
Or carrier website?
Did you do the upgrade program?
What color? What model? Etc etc

Why is mine not in preparing for shipment yet!!

Relax people! You will get your phones!

Mine also changed to 'Preparing for shipment' :D I ordered within the first few minutes. Wondering why it changed so early.. if the release would be this Friday it would be normal but next week? Hopefully it arrives earlier :D

Ugh. Now AT&T is scaring me.

I ordered the iPhone 6S as soon as Apple started selling them. "Success!", I thought to myself.

Confirmation email:
Great news! We received your iPhone order and it is expected to be delivered on September 25, 2015.

Text from *ORDR#:
"Order # xxx is in progress."

Credit card statement:
*Pending AT&T Kxxx xxxx BETHLEHEM PA TELEPHONE SERVICE $ 817.59

After seeing this article on MacRumors I decided to check AT&T's site to see if the status of my order changed...

AT&T's web site (as of a few minutes ago):
Order status: Action required
Your order needs attention before we can continue.

To successfully process your order, we need more information. Please call us at 866.499.8008, from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. ET. If we don't hear from you in 3 days, your order may be automatically cancelled.

Uh, what?

This was ordered, what, over 4 days ago? Shouldn't I have received an email or something if there was a problem with my order?

Yay! Let's all celebrate how we paid a huge cooperation a huge chunk of money for a phone!!

It's still $649 for the base model here in the states. Hasn't that always been the price? How are the phones and the tiered pricing on storage any different ($100 for the plus size screen aside)?

This is a newsworthy topic?

Apparently it's comment worthy.

Oh wow that stinks. You would think they would try to get in contact with you immediately. I also ordered from ATT but i'm nervous I won't get it on launch day because of the stories i've read.

I wanted to play it safe and bought one out right and make a reservation, debating canceling the phone and keeping the reservation... any thoughts?

Does anyone know when the embargo on reviews lifts? I think it normally would lift soon but this year is different with the launch happening a week later. I'm really interested in hearing about performance of Safari tabs with the extra RAM, how much faster TouchID is, some photo/video samples, battery life expectations, and what kind of new 3D Touch shortcuts reviewers have unearthed.

As for ordering, I went with the iPhone Upgrade Program. Apple punishes me for doing this by making me drive 120 miles to the nearest Apple Store. I couldn't even pick out which day I wanted to go. My only option was Friday. At least I won't be on contract and get AppleCare+, but Apple really needs to get their crap together for next year. I should be able to fill everything out online and get it in the mail. I should be able to mail-in my old iPhone too. Not everyone lives near an Apple Store. The phone rep said Apple is working towards improving the program in the future and said my feedback would be sent to the decision makers. We'll see.

So it's Apple's fault your country's currency isn't worth what it is on the global market that it used to be?

So say a country like Argentina where their currency drops 70% in value in 6 months... so if the USD equivalent was $900 last year, you're saying it's greedy of Apple to not adjust for comparative currency? So this year they should sell the iPhone for $150 just because people in Argentina live in a country plagued by corruption and currency manipulation? If YOU were a business owner selling into Argentina, would you sell your things for 70% off, likely below cost? Of course not.

Sounds worse when it's more dramatic in those countries, but the USD is stronger this year and some other currencies have weakened significantly. Welcome to a global economy!

Someone will get it early. i'll have to go to best buy and get my 128 plus, although I have a bad feeling it won't be there on the 25th.
