isnt refresh an OS thing not ram? they still do on the air2 and that has 2GBbut A8x not 9
Yeah they do on the A8X, but only after you open about 15 tabs, lol. I know because I have an iPad Air 2. And that is the #1 reason I want to upgrade. My 6 Plus is so bad that it cannot keep more than one tab in memory. Sometimes just loading a single page causes crashing. Or opening a single page and clicking the button to view the tabs, but then going back and not opening a second tab. Yeah…it's horrible and I can't wait. But I agree the software is also to blame. Adding RAM masks the crappy software underneath—but since Apple refuses to do anything about it I'll take this "fix" for now. Here's to hoping for a re-written Safari in iOS X.

I've had to refresh the screen quiet a few time and after 10min i was able to place an order for my 4th iPhone [3Gs, 4s, 5s & 6s+]. I have just checked my order status and it is still not changed [New Zealand]. It is the first time that Apple has decided to allow a small country at the bottom of the world to be able to pre-order on the first day of the launch. So Thanks to Apple may be soon there will be an official Apple Store here in NZ. All those who's orders status has changed Lucky you.....

Exactly this. The nearest Apple Store is 5 hours away, and as much as I would like to use the Apple Upgrade program, that is a bit of a drive. So I went with Verizon's payment plan, added Apple Care (which I was only charged $99, so we will see how that goes), and will pay it off after a year like I did this time.
Send them your feedback. I think Apple is one of the few companies who listens to this. Especially when it comes to the sales experience. 120 miles is right at my willingness to drive that far for a phone threshold. That threshold probably wouldn't have been so high if my 6 Plus wasn't so buggy and I was really looking forward to getting the smaller size again. When I did the math, Verizon's payment plan and fees were $120/yr more than this and didn't include AppleCare+. I also wanted to get off contract as I'm considering T-Mobile since their coverage—especially with LTE extended—is actually becoming decent.

Off topic here, but I love the cultural difference between the States and the UK - I've got 4 Apple stores within 50 miles, including one 25 miles away, but I still find it irritating that there isn't one in my nearest city (9 miles) and refuse to drive to another city, even 25 miles!

Yes I am sure it has been. The exchange rate is brutal in Canada right now. The 16GB 6S is $649USD and $899CAD. Unfortunately the base model is still 16GB (maybe one day it will be 32GB). The 64GB 6S is $749USD while ringing in at $1029CAD. I am not complaining about Apple's pricing on the phones, or saying they are being unfair. I am simply stating I miss the days where the exchange rate was about even. Exchange rate has made the iPhone expensive in Canada. Too expensive for myself to justify spending over $2000 to upgrade two phones. In the end it is okay, we will just use our iPhone 5S longer.

If I remember correctly when the 4/4S/5/5S came out the exchange rate was fairly even, and the prices of the phones were maybe an extra $50-100 in Canada. Just imagine how up in arms people would be in the US if you found out that every time new iPhones came out the prices were higher than the year before. Yes exchange rates are a fact of life but it gets old seeing the prices on iPhones go up every year.

I remember Friday and/or Saturday night trips to Winsor in 1999-2000. The exchange rate was ridiculous back then. I recall it was approximately $1.00 USD to $1.55 CAD.

Hah! This is precisely why our wireless bills cost so much over here. Everything is so spread out! When I lived in Kansas City my commute was 38 miles. My boss was British and owned the company, and he built his house a half mile away. Now that I live in a college town my commute is only 4 miles. I like that so much better, but I wish it were even closer. I could totally see myself being British. After all, my last name is Duke and my descendants are British. You guys are the best. Cheers!

No, nothing has changed from any other year. These are shipments that are currently located in China and need to be shipped to the US.

For many of us, our phones are already located stateside and we will not see any shipment status changes (it will say "processing") up until the night before we are to receive the phones.

I've ordered every iPhone made. My shipment status has never changed until the night prior to me receiving it. For the iPhone 5 I went to bed with the status still saying "processing," and actually received it the next morning and the status changed to "shipped" about 30 minutes after I had it in my hands.

This hasn't been true for me. I live in WA and I always track my phone coming over from China, through Alaska, down to Kentucky, and back up to WA starting the day or two before arrival. Infact, there have been whole threads dedicated to tracking your phone from China in the past.

I spoke to Apple on Sunday about my order as I wanted to make change to the colour (and was hoping they might be able to edit the order manually). The agent told me that he could change the order but I would be subject to the 3-4 week lead time. I said I would think about it as he said I had at least a week to make up my mind before they would start preparing the item to ship from the UK. 3 days later and the item is preparing to ship. Oh well, I have more time to consider whether I have order the correct one!

The probability of getting an early iPhone arrival is proportional to the number of comments you make on MR forums.
MINE HASN'T CHANGED YET ZOMG!!!! THIS LAUNCH IS TERRIBLE. I HATE APPLE. I HATE ATT. THANKS A LOT OBAMA!!

Why are you commenting here?

In the US, I would be shocked if they show anything before Wednesday/Thursday next week. They are probably making their way overseas. The preparing to ship/ship notifications do not go out until they leave UPS, which is a next day Air service.

Usually if you have UPS my choice, you can find your package days before apple sends you the official tracking. It gets to the UPS hubs and sits there for another 3-4 days. In the past when they did 1 week turnovers, the phones were already in the US.

My experience has been that the tracking on UPS is behind what I get on Amazon.

Nothing new. "Android's statuses have been doing this for years"

My Android phones usually come within a couple of days of placing the orders.

They haven't shipped one to me yet... probably because I didn't order one. $1029 for a 64GB 6S... no thanks. Especially when you would be ordering more than one. I miss the days where iPhones were cheaper.

Why so much? Outright full price is $900 (including the tax) for the 128GB 6S.

My status from the beginnin has stated "preparing to ship." Got my preorder in a couple minutes before it went live, so I'm hoping I was one of the lucky first one's and get my phone by the 25th. Shipping ETA is still showing 10/16-10/23 though.

Not in Canada! Poor exchange rate has led to the sharp rise in iPhone prices over the last couple years. a 128GB iPhone 6S in Canada is $1216 (In Alberta where we only have 5% tax). It is even more in other provinces.

My iPhone 6s 64gb rose gold is still preparing says sept 30th-October 6th tmobile, anyone else?

Will the iPhone be delivered by next Friday? Will it be delivered early? Will it be delivered at all? Will Goku master the powers of the Super Saiyan in time to save all the iPhones? Find out on the next exciting edition of, Dragon Ball Z

Mine said "Preparing to Ship" Since I ordered it. Nothing changed on mine and it completed 2 orders within 11 minutes. One rose gold 6s plus and one space grey 6s plus both 64GB. My ship dates are between Oct 16-23. Which isn't comforting. But, preparing to ship since I placed the order. SEND ME MY PHONE!!! :)

I just saw an email saying your order has been dispatched and sat straight up in bed, only to then open it and realise its for my partner's iPad Mini 4 (yawn)

On the plus side as I was awake by this point, I decided to check my iPhone 6S Plus order and its now showing as 'preparing for dispatch' :D

Now to get the adrenaline down a few notches so I can try and catch a few zzzz's before work tomorrow!
