iPhone 6s and 6s Plus Orders Now Shipping Ahead of September 25 Launch

I preordered from my carrier for the first time and yeah I am thankful sprint has a very simple order status page. No processing no preparing just when it ships a tracking number will be there.
For some reason the lack of detail here is comforting.
I doubt this is the case because there are no specific location details, but I received an email from UPS this morning saying I have a package arriving tomorrow. I would be absolutely surprised if it actually showed up but one can hope. Interestingly, I ordered my 64GB Space Gray at 7:30am EST on the day or pre-orders – didn't even rush to get it ordered. I suspect this will be held for delivery as has been the case in the past but I'll certainly let everyone know if I receive it!

2 year contracts are pretty much dead now. with ATT next, and apple's new program (same price), you pay the same amount each month and are able to upgrade every year for "free." Now you don't have to choose between the S cycle and the "new" cycle.
This kind of statement is made in these forums all the time and it is incorrect for a certain subset of AT&T customers that are sitting on some grandfathered plans, especially the UDP. And that subset actually accounts for over 10 million AT&T iPhone customers. The 2-year contract is more advantageous cost-wise for this subset of customers than the NEXT program. It is not questionable. It is black and white.
I kind of want to keep this quiet until/if delivery is made, but one of my two iPhones is scheduled for delivery tomorrow (Monday) between 10am and 2 pm! I've already received the delivery notice from UPS....
The only kicker is that I am several thousand miles from home and won't return until late Wednesday night!

Yeah, that's definitely disappointing. Whom did you order from though? Apple or a carrier? All you can do is hope it will be once again revised, and moved up this time. Might not help, but you can always call whomever you ordered from. Nothing to lose here.
Ordered Space Grey 6S Plus 64GB from Verizon site around 12:10 and finally charged my card and shipped yesterday. Never got shipped email but checked status from original email and had fedex tracking no. Was worried for a while.
Are people genuinely calling Apple or getting annoyed about their order still saying "Processing"?

Exactly. And some phones may already be sitting in local warehouses. Previous iPhone release days I've seen pre-orders that ship from China go to "Preparing for Shipment" a few days before local stock shipments do.
For example- in the past some of my pre-orders that came from an Apple distro center in Rialto, CA only went to 'preparing to ship' a day or two before launch. However, other pre-orders I've done that come direct from China ship further in advance.
Nothing to worry about. (I'm in SoCal and ordered 12:05am still processing with 9/25 delivery.)

Same here. I always feel like the "S" products are nothing more than service packs with extra bells and whistles that I can't see people using constantly (cue for the "S" fanboys to say...."just because you wouldn't use these features...). The major upgrades are the next point releases.
The finger print scanner was the biggest S feature that I use daily nd appreciate. It actually made unlockig faster and more secure, for me. Otherwise, I agree with your sentiment.
You check this on the my verizon site under my orders and it says shipped?

Agreed and I think may be the only time Apple implemented a major feature in the "S" models. I'm so used to using it it's oddball to jump onto my iPad Air that doesn't have Touch I.D.
Hope you have someone there to sign for it. More than likely, your shipment will be held by UPS for delivery on Friday. This isn't their first rodeo.
I talked to AT&T last night. They said it won't arrive earlier. Mine says the same.
No i actually have an email with my shipping information.. it started in PA, now in North NJ, should be near me by tm and will sit at fedex till friday
although, I have heard of and seen some people who have such early movement, get their iPhones early
