Can you guys do me a favor and turn your system sound all the way up (notifications, typing, alarm, etc.) and then send a text message and listen to see if the stock "text sent" and "text received" tone is distorted or crackles badly at the end, in a text/imessage thread. thanks guys! mine sounds like a blown speaker. everywhere else it sounds fine.

A lot of people (reviewers) have been complaining about the 6s and 6s Plus speaker

Used Skype this morning to video call my gf, video and audio quality were crystal clear on iPhone 6s Plus.

Unless you're certain it's a hardware issue I'd wait until the apps are updated.

skype has been updated so the problem in skype has been fixed.

I have the same problem playing dots, but only when over 70%> volume, can anyone confirm they have the same issue?

There have been a few threads about this already. It's not a blown speaker or hardware issue. If it were then it would sound blown out all the time. It is most likely a software bug or change in how iOS 9 handles notice/alert and ringer sounds.

Turn your ringer volume down (like below 50%) and send a text and the distortion should go away. The skype app getting updated and fixing the sound issue also points towards a software problem rather than hardware.

So is Apple actually giving out replacement phones for this issue, even though it sounds to be a software issue?

This is apple's brilliant customer service that it is giving replacement for this. I was facing this problem. Apple ordered a replacement for me. i ended up returning my original phone and buying a new one.

no problems here tested the way you said

Curious... did you test this sound issue with a case on or off? I thought my phone had a blown speaker at first, but then I realized that it was just poor design of the Spigen case I had that was distorting the sound from the speaker.

That is interesting. I already tried and same problem

It's crazy that when any problem arises, people immediately get a replacement. Usually it's a software issue. Rarely is it a hardware issue.

try facebook messenger/Google hangout app and put the other person on speaker.
Sorry for my lack of understanding will you please tell me how do I put other person on the speaker. And what will we accomplish with that? I do lot of FaceTime audio and FaceTime video I did not hear anything unusual.

i mean use facebook messenger to call your friend then turn on Speaker phone. I face the problems in VOIP apps only. Facetime audio and video sounds fine.

can someone try playing The game of love by Daft Punk and see if the speaker is blown or not.
