Apple don't do gears; show me ONE product where they've had a cogwheel in the middle of the screen to signify something...

Lumia, yes; Android, yes. Apple? NOPE.

I call FAKE. Even if this is pre-production firmware, they're not going to put a cogwheel in it, as that's now how Apple do things.

People need to wake up and become cognisant of fakes.

How fast do you need it to be? The 5s charges from empty to over 80% in one hour.

5S capacity is 1560 mAh. My 6 Plus is 2915 mAh. It takes around 30 minutes to get from around 10% to 40%. Something like 60-70% in 15 minutes (my friend's Nexus 6 does this) would be great, especially for college students.

This makes it interesting for Iphone 7 - besides a new casing, better camera and A10 CPU, I don't know what else needs to be added.

After a major camera upgrade with the 6s, I only expect minor tweaks to the 12mp camera in the iPhone 7. USB-C will probably replace Lightning which I know some people won't like, but it will be for the best in the long run. Wireless charging is a long shot. So in other words, iPhone 6 owners who are planning to upgrade to the iPhone 7 next year will be getting a preview of their next iPhone soon, with only the iPhone 7 exterior design missing.

If I were a betting man... I would bet the house on USB-C not replacing lightning. Not unless there's some micro version of it coming out in a few weeks, skipping any mini variant.

It is thicker than lightning by itself, which makes for a thicker device. It also has pins that could bend, whereas lightning does not. There's also a giant library of accessories they'd instantly make obsolete, after 4 iterations of the primary device using it - the 35-pin connector was around for a decade before being replaced... And everyone was still furious.

4g was never clearly defined. For example, when I had a 4S, the reception bar showed that it had a '4G reception'
When I got a 5C, it then showed LTE.it seems some carriers define 4G as HSPA+, and LTE...as LTE
HSPA+ is a 3G standard evolution (H+ could have fit better in a status bar). But yes, neither LTE should be called 4G anyway. That's only concessions for marketing purposes:
http://www.itu.int/net/pressoffice/press_releases/2010/48.aspx said:
As the most advanced technologies currently defined for global wireless mobile broadband communications, IMT-Advanced is considered as “4G”, although it is recognized that this term, while undefined, may also be applied to the forerunners of these technologies, LTE and WiMax, and to other evolved 3G technologies providing a substantial level of improvement in performance and capabilities with respect to the initial third generation systems now deployed.
We can say H+ and LTE aren't "True 4G" :D
And then, only the iPhone 6 and 6+ are True 4G devices as supporting LTE Advanced.

You might want to avoid websites with the word "rumor" in their names, you know like MacRUMORS. Just sayin...

My comment is more that in the past 'rumours' (e.g. for the original iMac, the iPod, OS X 10.0...etc) were all REALLY vague. In the past, Apple kept EVERYTHING really secret to the point where no single rumour was correct.

These days, the scene has changed. We don't just know exactly what Apple's going to release (many months in advance)... kids on the internet are able to patch together complete versions.

I come here for spoilers and am fully aware of that. My comment is essentially that the scene has changed to the point where these are full leaks, not 'rumours'. I'm commenting more because of my nostalgic memories rather than due to a dislike of the site's content.

'One more thing' used to be so cool because it was always something totally unexpected. Now there's no 'one more thing'... even mainstream newspapers know exactly what's coming.

I hope it is OLED. As much of a hater that I am against Samsung. The S6 display is brilliant

lol...its not.

you know this doesn't make any sense in response to my comment.

Makes sense to me. You said the Galaxy S6 screen isn't brilliant, the link proves otherwise. It's one of the best, if not the best mobile display on the market.

I think the PPI will be the same and we'll see something new in 2016.
I do expect the A9 to be triple core and to have 2GB of RAM. The new phone will be really fast and I expect some improvements in A9 to be specific for image processing in order to improve the camera experience on the iPhone. We may see a new sensor with more MP but 4S and 5S had some improvements on the SoC dedicated to the camera and I expect something similar this year.
iOS 9 has new features to improve battery life so they may focus on performances with A9 instead of power consumption.
I also expect force touch but unless they find a really great way to integrate it with iOS it won't be a compelling reason to move to the S generation.
Let's see if they put some multitasking features on the new phones thanks to the RAM in A9, that could be the "one more thing" of the new iPhone instead of force touch

Well the recent rumors are of a slightly smaller battery, most likely due to another rumor about FT making the display assembly slightly thicker. Three cores might be pushing it but it all depends on the power budget in the A9. Such a larger die at 14nm seems to suggest it, but I'm skeptical after the news of the smaller battery. More likely are extra graphics cores. We'll see!

Multitasking features are kinda questionable on the 6S. It should have the power to support it, but I think if they do implement it may be left to the iPhone 6S Plus alone as an upgrade feature. Although even the regular iPhone in iOS 9 isn't getting picture in picture even though the iPad Mini 2 supports it on an A7 with 1GB of RAM and the iPhone 6 Plus has a faster A8 with 1GB of RAM. FT might enable an easy way to deal with multitasking on a smaller screen but I just don't think it's likely to happen this year.

Following Apple 'S' update patterns, most of the improvements have been incremental. I just expect this update to be the same. Plus, we haven't seen any parts leaks that would suggest that an OLED screen is coming.

The leaks haven't really specified anything apart from internal changes. They've had the screen literally in their hands but seem to have skipped over that for some reason.

Don't get me wrong, I think you could be right, but I don't want to think you are. I do think you're wrong about S being incremental though. S updates IMO tend to be quite big but under the hood, and so go unnoticed.

I have a feeling the screen will change, whether it be to OLED or microLED or whatever it's called. The adoption of OLED for Apple Watch, the inclusion of wallpapers with no edges in iOS 9, and the fact Samsung have overtaken Apple in smartphone screen quality leads me to believe that the screen will in fact change.

Either way, the keynote will be an interesting one in many ways.

What I find interesting is the lack of any Taptic Engine in these leaks. Hasn't that been a major part of the Force Touch experience in both the Watch and MacBook trackpads? Seems weird to not include it in the iPhone implementation of the feature; which is arguably the most significant product to receive this feature yet.

I imagine the implementation would be similar to the Watch, but I'm sure it could just use the vibration motor in the iPhone.

The vibration motor in the iPhone 6 is already built similarly to the Taptic Engine. In fact, it's not even a motor.

Charging a 6+ using the included wall wart takes almost 3 hours. I use an iPad charger and total charge time is about 2 hours. Maybe less, but I don't charge from empty many times. Still, it's a drastic difference. Because of the tight wad bean counters we don't get a fast charger out of the box.

Without meaning to appear pedantic, maybe you don't understand what the true meaning of the word "motor" is;

I can tell you, as a fully qualified electronic engineer, that a linear actuator is a motor, as is a solenoid, as are the autofocus coils & magnet mechanisms used in cameras, as are loudspeakers, as are piezo crystals stimulated by electric charge to create movement. This "taptic" nonsense of which Apple makes a gigantic hoo-haa is nothing more than an EXTREMELY primitive electromagnet mechanism, the likes of which have been around for well over 100 years. It's GENUINELY no big deal, it's just hype.

Google: "Define:motor"

motor
ˈməʊtə/
noun
  1. 1.
a machine, especially one powered by electricity or internal combustion, that supplies motive power for a vehicle or for another device with moving parts.
"these electric motors are highly reliable"

Okay, I've made my point now.
