drop testing is already done by companies, these idiots dropping them for video hits are the reason Apple makes 16GB versions.
Yes I'm sure that's the reason why Apple the most valuable company in the world valued at 700 billion dollars only makes 16GB just because a few hundred idiots drop them. Yep that's the reason. Like Apple cares, as long as they get your money they can care less what you do with it.

What's hilarious about these drop test is that they aren't realistic. It'll survive a 10 foot drop on a drop test, but in a real situation just drop it down 3 feet and it'll shatter. Take drop test with a grain of salt.

Screen replacement doesn't cost that much? You HAVE to be kidding me !!

Apple care is $99
Verizon, att, sprint is going to be $199 IF you have insurance.
After market price on replacement glass hasn't come in yet but with the new 3D Touch your going to be looking at probably 249$ to 299$ in PARTS alone, then labor: 300-350$ is A LOT of money.

Don't kid yourself...kid

How much does iPhone screen repair cost?

Repair and replacement costs depend on your iPhone model and your AppleCare coverage.

When you request screen repair online or by phone, Apple will place an authorization on your credit card to cover the iPhone out-of-warranty cost. We’ll charge this amount if your iPhone has additional damage and is eligible for out-of-warranty service. If your iPhone has no damage other than the screen, we’ll charge the amount below. iPhone 6s Plus: $149
iPhone 6s, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5: $129
iPhone 6: $109

It always amazes me that people are doing this. How much money could they possibly be getting from views? Is it really worth all the time of waiting up for pre-orders and then just destroying the phone right when you get it?

Neat ...

Do we really sound like that? U'd be surprised just how many would even fly to Australia to show something off.

They probably buy more than one. Sounds kind of silly to wait all this time for a new product then destroy it just to show the world how 'unbreakable' it is...

Impressed with the 6 plus durability. I'm more concerned with scratches than drops though. I'll have a case anyway as the phone just feels better with it but I'm trying to decide if a screen protector is necessary this time around.

"Let's drop this iPhone face down on the ground with great force and see if it shatters!"

*shatters*

"Oh my God! No way! It shattered! This proves it, guys. Apple puts terrible glass on their phones!"

The guy in the drop test facial expressions remind me of Jim mora in his infamous "playoffs" press conference. Definitely /r/punchablefaces material
