iPhone 6S is so cool!!!

I find an iPhone 6S is a MAJOR (I say MAJOR) update and it should be called iPhone 7 instead. Here's why....

New 3D Touch
New 4K video (recording?)
New 12 megapixel rear camera
New 5 megapixel iSight

I don't know what iPhone 7 will bring next year? Maybe a small minor update which is too bad....
New A10 cpu
New what else???

I really want this iPhone 6S especially with 3D Touch and iOS 9. :(

Just FYI, the rear camera is the iSight and the front facing is the FaceTime camera.

An external redesign of the phone like it does every numbered upgrade.

And next year we'll know who has the "S" and who has the 7. Unlike this year where you don't know unless you have the "S' in Rose Gold or you flip the phone over and look at the back.

Major external upgrade…GOOD!

I have that feeling that apple may go... "The New iPhone" or "iPhone Air" or something like that.

Or maybe iPhone 6ss

Design Change
OLED & Higher Resolution Display (really hoped to get this on the 6s+ :()
32 GB Base Model Storage (if we're lucky enough :rolleyes:)
Wireless Charging and/or Fast Charging
Better Battery Life and/or Thinner
Possibly 3 or 4 GB RAM
Possibly a 4" model

And I'm sure there are other things yet to come.

I want iPhone 7 to suck, that way i won't feel bad about not upgrading...

Better optics for the rear facing camera and a higher capacity battery would be my guess, along with small improvements on everything else.

I will predict 1 out of those 6 actually come to fruition, and it happens to be the one you seriously doubt.
 
Realistically I think the iPhone 7 will change physically but minor internal improvements like the 6

Thinner, iPod touch level thinness

Some form of either oled or mled

Maybe wireless charging

Spec improvements to both cameras

That's about it I think. New color too

Oh and 16 gb too

I do think if they go to oled or mled the 7 will go to 1080p and the plus to 1440.

I just don't see fast charging. iPhones with the smaller batteries charge pretty fast already. I can see wireless charging though because of the apple watch. Hopefully it'll be fast wireless charging, on par with wired.

Go ahead and say no way on a ram upgrade that early.

Wireless charging, new color options, no camera protrusion are quite possible.

You will be kicking yourself later for that. When 4K becomes the standard and cheap, you will be wishing you had recorded everything that way. If space is a problem, simply move the 4K videos off the phone and store them somewhere else.

Wow. This post actually made me feel bad about my upgrade because it shows how little the 6S has "improved".

New 3D Touch - Yes. Very cool and will improve my workflow
New 4K video - For the stuff I film then I don't need quality this size at all
New 12mp camera - more megapixels, same aperture and tiny lens
New 5mp camera - Nice, but lack of wide angle lens still make it primarily for narcissists

I know there more to the new iPhones that will make a difference (2GB RAM, Processor, Harry Potter photos) and I do feel 3D Touch will be amazing a year from now when Devs start utilizing it, but when you start thinking about how little the things you listed will affect your workflow then it shows how minor this upgrade is to most people (and how much room there is for the 7 to be a proper upgrade leap.)

Yes, the 6s is an awesome upgrade.

A9 is a beast
2GB of RAM
Touch sensitive screen
Better camera's
Live Photo's will be a massive hit for the mass market

But personally I'll wait till iPhone7. I can't justify buying a phone every year.

Usually non-S generation phones have major body/screen upgrades. I don't think Apple will make a larger screen. I think they will try to shrink the footprint of their phones.

I think they may try to get rid of the physical home button and shrink the bezel's big time. With a near zero bezel screen an iPhone7+ could be smaller than the current 6s. And the iPhone7 could be smaller than the iPhone5. In other words the best of both worlds: A large screen with the footprint and pocketablilty of a small phone. But there are some obstacles to overcome:

1. where do you put the front facing camera? Do you put it behind the glass screen?
2. How does TouchID work to unlock your phone? I know Authentic was working on TouchID that could work through the screen glass. If you do a hard press (3D touch) that might be enough to wake up the device to read your fingerprint.

3. What to replace the home-key with? I could see using a button on the side of the phone like the current power button but on the bottom right instead of the top right.
