iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus launch day has officially arrived in the United States and Canada as Apple Stores in eastern cities such as New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto and Washington D.C. have now opened at 8:00 am local time. The launch will continue westward across the U.S. and Canada over the next three hours.

Apple Stores will now begin fulfilling in-store reservations for the new iPhones and accepting walk-in purchases from the long queues that have formed at some locations. UPS and FedEx will also be making pre-order deliveries generally between the hours of 9:00 am and 8:00 pm to residential addresses.

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus first arrived in New Zealand last night, and the new devices were quickly subjected to an early unboxing, drop test, teardown, bend test and camera comparison. The devices have now launched in all first wave countries, including the U.S., Australia, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Singapore and the U.K.

I still have my iPhone 5 and I dont mind :)) I really wonder - a year ago when iP6 was released - if there will be another female reporter having and interview with some random guy and she wanted him to to open it in front of her and the camera. The guys was so nervous, overjuiced, shaky etc.. so he tried to to open the box so fast that his iPhone fell off. Long story short, keep calm and take it easy, haha.

Any pics from London?

Yes , Apparently Samsung was there offering pillows and blankets for those in the queue.

Are all of those people actually wearing banner flag things on their backs? Could Samsung possibly get any more unfashionable and lame?

"I've been standing in line for five hours, but after reading this flag sticking out of your back, I am absolutely convinced to jump out of line and buy this Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ immediately! Why did nobody tell me before that I don't have to queue to buy an older cell phone?"

I am certain they get that response all the time.

Got a report in from a buddy in Virginia that just walked up to the local Apple store. He was about 30th in line just from walking up and every single person in front of him was Chinese and none of them were speaking English. I figured with the iPhone being sold in China this time around the bulk buyers wouldn't be as numerous, but I guess not.

Glad to see the tradition of bulk buyers taking the phone out of the hands of real buyers carries on. /s

Haven't received anything from best buy. Still says order placed. I'm hopeful it will process when store opens but they could have worked overnight to process and tell me to pick up at opening. Nobody contacted me which is odd since I had to make an appointment to pick up the s6 edge.

I worked for them for 2 years. And yeah, this is their philosophy. No philosophy :) Koreans rule every company no matter what country they operate in. The ideas and the marketing comming out is not thought-through and very expensive. Here comes the result. Funny result.
They could be a very good competitor to Apple products, but somehow they do not want..

Really? I had the predictable rant about how pathetic this is but I erased it because it's been said often enough. Instead I'll just laugh over the fact that there are Samsung-made parts in most past iPhones and probably in these as well, if the information I've been reading is correct.

Oh well it is amusing, anyway.

I was the first in my city to have the iPhone 4. I came out of the store and there were local news cameras all around me yelling, "Hold it up! Hold it up!" I did and the line of a couple hundred booed loudly and someone threw a cup at me. I was all over the news and friends and family ridiculed me mercilessly. Safe to say that was the last launch I attended...

The reservation line is pretty short at Michigan Avenue. The regular line is around the block and about a block long.
