16GB is just not enough nowadays, even if you're a "light" user.
32GB should be the entry-level storage option.

Makes no difference to me. I got the 64 GB iPhone 5s and this just means I get a 64 GB iPhone at a cheaper price than before.
Are people here really just whining over having to spend just a little more money to get a substantially better deal?
Makes me wish Apple would just drop the 16 GB model, offer the 64 and 128 GB models, and raise the starting price to $299. That would show everyone.
Apple should make the entry level 32GB but there's one reason the probably won't: they don't want a bunch of downgrades from 64GB owners. Neil Cybart who runs the Apple centric site Above Avalon claims that keeping the entry level storage at 16Gb is saving Apple $3B.
They know they can pay for what they want. The complainers are really just cheapskates who don't want to pay. What I don't get is why would anyone complain about 16GB being not enough storage when they can just get the 64 or 128 and be happy.

what a joke

This suggests that the new line of iPhones this year will once again offer a starting storage option of 16GB, likely supplemented with the same 64GB and 128GB options at higher price points seen currently.
maybe if they get rid of data caps in like ... 20 yearsHowever, now that there's Apple Music => no more music on your device, it means more space for apps, pics and videos.
16GB storage again? Fail.
How about make the top end 256GB? Clearly the 128GB folks aren't that price sensitive and/or want even more storage than 128GB. Make the lineup 16/64/256
Well, I know I am not the one raising a hissy fit here about Apple not increasing the storage of their phones. I knew I needed 64 GB of storage on my iPhone, I willingly paid for it and it's serving me very well.Congratulations, you're the consumer that Apple love. "Oh, well now you get 4 times more storage by upgrading than you did before! I'm getting a substantially better deal!"
Wake up. It's been 16GB base storage since the 3GS. Flash chips have plummeted in price to the point where the difference between 16GB and 32GB (for Apple) is likely to be less than $1. Darn I get angry reading comments like yours.

You don;t see it do you?I can't relate to all the hate for just making a cheaper 16gb version available?!?
If you want more get more. I've always gotten the max storage. 16gb is available to those who are cool with streaming, iCloud etc. and have good wifi at home and work.

The price difference for Apple between 16 GB and 32 GB is so small that this excuse really doesn't apply anymore. The 16 GB on the base model is there to force people to upgrade and spend the extra when they otherwise wouldn't with 32 GB.I can't relate to all the hate for just making a cheaper 16gb version available?!?
