No color can be for a specific gender. Lots of guys will get this Rose Gold color, since it's just that much more on the upper echelon. The nouveau-riche use colors like this to flaunt their newfound wealth.

Me however, it's just too haughty for me.

Apple is using subconscious imagery to encourage men to go for the pink!

Those beautiful halfmoon betta splendens on the packaging are male. The females have much smaller fins in more muted colours. ;)

From my perspective the Rose/Pink phone are NOT "upper echelon" but to each his or her own!

It's too feminine for ME but to each his own. I was disappointed at the pinkness as I was expecting it to have more a rust/reddish hue which I would've been fine with.

Hi All,

Kinda like the rose gold option but hey need to ask my fellow forum members - could a guy carry off this colour or is it too feminine?

Thanks!

Nubben

Mine would stay in a case. So it won't matter what color it is at that point. But I was thinking as a guy get the pink. Cause perhaps it will have a bigger resale value than the other colors this time next year?

Not really adding anything new, but the world (depending on where you live) has changed.

25 years ago men didn't carry bags only backpacks. Now there is a big market for bags for men.
50 years ago the only jewellery men wore was maybe a wedding ring. Now men wear diamonds.

If you are worried that a rose gold iPhone will make you appear less masculine, then maybe its not for you. But you should have what you want.

As other said, it really depends on "you" as a person. I know people who could pull it off, and people who would like down right silly.

Will people ever learn? When the white iPhone was released, everyone was saying its girly. Now it's neutral. When the gold iPhone was released, everyone was saying its released, I think I've seen more guys than girls with them. Now in about a year we'll be saying the same thing about this color...

you're being ridiculous, there's nothing "manly" about your indecisiveness over a color. Let's put these stupid, meaningless gender considerations to rest and buy what appeals to us. I'm going for the pink one, and I'll even call it pink.

This is what i'm thinking. I'm gonna give it a shot (6sPLus for me and 6s for my wife both in Rose Gold) and if I don't like it, i figured it would be easier to turn around and sell.

It really isn't a colour I like and I am now officially a hater of the white bezel after having the Gold 6+ for a year so I will be back to Space Grey.

I haven't had a black or space grey iPhone or whatever they are calling it now since the 4 as I find it a rather bland colour for a phone.

It's funny this discussion has come up as didn't we have similarly fretful discussions from men last year over the gold colour?

I'd have to see it in person. Supposedly Rose Gold is a mixture of gold and copper. And true Rose Gold is a real feast for the eyes. A man could definitely wear it.

We're being hijacked by words and colors. Some thought that purple was a 'gay' color. I don't think they do now, but correct me if I'm wrong. In old movies, one hears the word 'gay' and it means happy. Now, not so much.

You are defined by who you are, not by what you wear. Rose gold is a male option because there are no filters on Apple's sites detecting your gender and limiting your choices.

Having said all of that, I still am reluctant to hold my wife's purse, even for a moment.
