Having only 1GB ram is laughable at this point.

Apple has it's hands in so many pies at this point, the phone doesn't work as advertised, i.e. broken airplay, it gets hot as s#h!t when too many apps are going, the constant glitches in software.

Only good things can come from this.

that sounds like a broken phone, not a ram issue.

Upgrades are coming too fast after my purchase. Since I'm happy with my 6+, I'll stick with that for now. Maybe I'll upgrade on the next S cycle. Cool new features, though.

I think that's really not possible, given the sensor size, lens and aperture of what's on the iPhone. This seems more marketing fantasy land then reality.

not.

the quality from a DSLR is a matter of physics. last I checked, Apple can't ignore those laws.

DSLR's have their amazing quality because of their size. Large sensors to absorb more light. Large apertures to allow customize amounts of light and focal lengths, and high quality glass to focus it all.

there's just no way, unless Quantum mechanics come into play (and I dont think Apple can manage that) to do so.

Ready for 2GB RAM. Absolutely love my 6+ but it would be a bit better if they beefed up the RAM.

That's what I posted, its not going to happen.

It's only laughable if 1GB doesn't provide a good experience. For now it does absolutely give a good experience. The bugs and issues aren't due to a lack of ram but due to bad code and bugs. The over heating is not a widespread issue. I haven't heard much about it at all and I have never experienced it on my 6 despite regular heavy usage.

Apple needs to improve its software for sure but complaining of lack of hardware is laughable given the benchmark scores the iPhone puts out.

Loving my 6 so far.......haven't really noticed any bottlenecks as of yet, but assumed that an uptick in RAM was always an inevitability with ever-expanding/developing feature sets.

However if future software updates follow the path of iOS 8, it'll be debatable where another GB will do any good (aside from just being a 'band-aid' fix).......

This might be the first generation ever that I can't envision HAVING to have it. I've bought every one from the original iPhone to the iPhone 6. I'm not sure having a faster processor and better camera are going to make it a must have for me. I suppose if it took great RAW photos like my Nikon DSLR then it might be worth a look. Otherwise, they need at least 1 killer feature to make it attractive. Maybe even go thinner like from the iPad Air to iPad Air 2 would make it attractive.

Of course it will have 2GB RAM. That's what the 6 should have had.

Clearly the RAM upgrade will happen, and some camera upgrade (a dual lens DSLR quality photo is highly suspicious), but does anyone have any legitimate ideas on how the force touch will be implemented? Anyone developing for :apple:Watch that can see advantages on a phone (or iPad for that matter)?

The camera hype Apple is putting forth is fluff for lack of differentiation in the S model. It's beyond Apple to say that the camera will be slightly better in the S model.
