2GB of RAM is essential for jailbreakers, i know i know your 1GB iPhone 6/6+ works fine and you couldn't be happier, but after a 2GB iPhone i won't care if the next iPhone boosts 4 or 6GB of RAM, i won't feel left out or need to get the next iPhone, 2GB should be more than enough to enjoy animated widgets and tweaks or a lag-less safari experience without apps reloading on launch.

2GB ram doesn't keep safari from crashing or reloading pages on my iPad. It's a software issue.

Our family will be getting two iPhone 6S units, one from a 4S and one from a Samsung 4 whatever.

We are slow or late adopters, but this welcome change might tip quite a few folks off the indecision stump.

My main goal is to find a carrier far less expensive than Verizon with reasonable coverage in the places I actually go.

I can't be the only one that thinks "Force Touch" is a creepy name and should be rebranded...

As for "DSLR quality camera" that everyone is bugging out about. That's an incredibly vague statement. It doesn't say DSLR quality photos. What part of the camera is going to be DSLR quality? It could just be the glass or interior framing taking their queue from the quality of a DSLR. The statement really doesn't mean anything at all without being qualified...

As long as the phone runs smooth. I don't care about ram. I have 0 issues with my 6 plus as is.

Having only 1GB ram is laughable at this point.

Apple has it's hands in so many pies at this point, the phone doesn't work as advertised, i.e. broken airplay, it gets hot as s#h!t when too many apps are going, the constant glitches in software.

Only good things can come from this.

I have a hard time believing all your problems, and if you do why don't you return the phone or get it fix. I doubt if most iPhone 6 have that much problem as your claim, people would put up with it. We have 4 iPhone 6 in the family and don't have ANY problem with ours.

Contrary to what what many current iPhone owners may think, more RAM is always welcome! :)

To those who are getting their undies tied into a knot over the dual-camera/DSLR claim, the reference is likely to the amount of bokeh that can be added to and adjusted in photos and videos taken by the new iPhone, similar to the HTC One M8.

I think that's really not possible, given the sensor size, lens and aperture of what's on the iPhone. This seems more marketing fantasy land then reality.

"DSLR quality" is a term used in this rumor article. It's not a marketing term used by Apple.

The camera hype Apple is putting forth is fluff for lack of differentiation in the S model. It's beyond Apple to say that the camera will be slightly better in the S model.

The S model camera upgrades have always been marginal at best, but they have to build hype every year so they will say what they can to reel people in

Another reason why I have bought EVERY iphone on launch day - to have the best features all the time. You are short changing yourself buddy :p

But think how much better an iPhone 6S Plus will be coming from a 5C ;)

5C to 6 Plus is already 2.5x faster CPU, 3x faster GPU and the 6S is only going to be faster.

It's only laughable if 1GB doesn't provide a good experience. For now it does absolutely give a good experience. The bugs and issues aren't due to a lack of ram but due to bad code and bugs. The over heating is not a widespread issue. I haven't heard much about it at all and I have never experienced it on my 6 despite regular heavy usage.

Apple needs to improve its software for sure but complaining of lack of hardware is laughable given the benchmark scores the iPhone puts out.

It is laughable, as are comments from people about lack of ram who backup those comments with benchmark scores. Lack of ram certainly has issues that make the experience less enjoyable, those experiences have been documented many, many times here and other forums and the negative effects of lack of ram do not show up in benchmark scores.

But only now is that working out with regards to RAM. The 4S had the same RAM as the 4 and the 5S had the same RAM as the 5.

I was thinking the same thing! Kinda ironic when the iPhone 4 non s and twice as much ram as the 3Gs and the iPhone 5 had twice as much Ram as the iPhone 4s. I really don't understand this "I only buy the S model" logic.

Funny my phone has none of this problem even with 1GB RAM. Oh right Android phones have 2GB so it must be better.

we already know about everything about 6s, like about we saw the design for the iphone 6 back in february 2014.

iphone 6s -2gb ram, triple core, probably sapphire protection (if they manage to solve the current issues) with ios 9

Everyone is scoffing at the "DSLR - like" camera, but keep the big picture in mind: it may not be true DSLR quality, but to the average consumer there won't be much of an appreciable difference and the choosier consumer will still end up with a better camera. I'm an opportunistic photographer; i rarely take pictures and when i do they aren't planned. I will likely never own a respectable camera in many peoples' eyes, but i do appreciate a quality camera in my phone for those moment when I want to record something.
