Anyone in the UK with the shut down issue on an iphone 6 able to replace it for the roughly £70 AND the issue fixed?

My battery is "healthy" but is a PITA because of the shutdown issue.

I got it done and it did get resolved. I think with iPhone 6 it wasn't related to software anyway.

6 month later my battery start degrading again

My 6s battery was also replaced around mid December of last year. According to Coconut Battery, I only have 145 load cycles but already my 15% of battery capacity is gone. Before the replacement, I lost 15% capacity after close to 300 load cycles, so this tells me that the replacement batter is twice less durable. I wonder if I bring this up to Apple, they would be able to do anything about this?

Mine only have 247 load cycles, I think is time to jump to the iPhone 7

Anyone with a regular 6 having issues after a replacement?

I'm planning on getting mine replaced next week (still getting the odd issue and I'm only able to replace it now), but if the problems still around I'd rather save the cash.

Do Apple offer relatively cheap upgrades phone wise in the UK if a device is faulty due to these types of faults?

My 6s battery was also replaced around December last year. Now it also has about 150 cycles but the capacity has been fluctuating between 95% and 98%. I wouldn't think 15% loss for 145 cycles is normal.

Which app do you use to measure the worn of the battery?

coconutbattery on mac. Other apps on mac or pc may work too. But I remember that since ios 10, apps on the phone itself can no longer measure the capacity accurately, only in 100mah like 1600, 1500...

None of the apps from the AppStore can work reliably anymore because apple has shut down the system battery monitoring APIs.
YUp I've said this time and again, get coconut battery (for Mac) or iBackupbot (Mac and Windows) if you want accurate battery stats.

Hi everyone. Sorry to bump an old thread.

Anyone else been getting the shutdown on iOS 11.0.2? I used to randomly get the shutdowns on iOS 10, but it was fixed after replacing the battery.

It tends to occur once I reach about 25%. Usually, the phone will slow down a lot, and eventually shutdown. After the phone will try to reboot itself, it will eventually show the phone needs to be plugged in screen.

Not me. I had the issue but had I my battery replaced. No issues with shut downs I Have had apps crash on iOS11 but that’s it.

I experience battery“jumps“ since iOS11 too. Sometimes battery percentage drops from e.g. 60ies to 40ies in just a second. Seems to be a bit messed up in iOS11 AGAIN (iOS10 had similar issues until 10.3.x)

Latest iOS11.1 beta2 is far better regarding battery life and „jumps“

It is battery related. My 6s+ and my wife's 6s+ had these issues. Mine only happened a few times in my 1.7 years of ownership. My wife's iPhone 6s+ would shut off at 40% 60% 20% .... so often we went to Apple to complain about it but they said the battery was "green" (80%+ design capacity) and they refused to do anything about it even though we showed them how, after the phone shut off, you'd turn it back on and it would show 8%, then you'd plug it in and it would jump from 8% to 50% in a matter of minutes.

So... we paid the $70+ to replace the battery. And in so doing, when they replaced the battery, the Apple Store destroyed my wife's iPhone. We were so frustrated with this particular store we went to our usual Apple Store who gave us a replacement for free (still under AppleCare+) but couldn't refund us our $70+ spent on the battery. (We were in and out in 6 minutes). Oh well. :p

But yeah, it's a battery issue. My wife's 6s+ (new) has 0 problems. Her old 6s+ with the issues would restart most frequently when we were outside (in cold weather or hot weather).

It could be 2 thinks actually. Either the battery which in that case replace it. But the issue could be coming from the charger connector.

Saying so because if the charger connector is defective, the volts that are sent to the battery will not be safe thus resulting in damaging the battery.

If you are unable to the checks by yourself go to an Apple shop or a Mobile repair shop.
