Thanks for the comment, I see you've been having this problem for some time.Definitely it's a problem with this model. I live in Seville (Spain) where it's a really warm place and it happens to me too.

This has been happening with my wifes 6s for the past few weeks, looks like I'm going to have to book it in with Apple. Gets to about 15% then shuts down and needs to be plugged in to get it going again.

Oh that's too bad man. What is currently your iOS? I have it in 10.1 and apparently it seems to work better, at least in the last two days. Right now it's 9% and it's still working.
10.1 from DFU Restore (but also restored my backup).
Using coconutBattery/BatteryLife it seems my overall capacity has resumed to a healthy 93% (instead of fluctuating down to as low as 40%).
So it seems better doesn't it? Although I don't understand why a battery has to lose its capacity in 1 year...

Not so much that it should as much as that it just could.Apple says that the iPhone battery should go to 80% of its initial performance after 500 full discharge cycles. So I’m not surprised it went to 90% in a year.
Oh great. After updating to ios 10.1 my 6s is having problems with battery percentage as well - getting stuck, then rapidly dropping etc.
Already had one 6s changed by Apple two months after it came out for the same problem. Their diagnostics showed the battery was fine, but changed the phone nevertheless.
I assume apple gave you a refurbished phone, don't I? And in two months a refurbished phone which it supposes to have a new cover, screen and BATTERY ... how is possible the phone has the same issue??? Definitely this phone (6S model I mean) or the battery used on this model are not well.
I don't know if it was a refurb. or not. But it's been working great for 10 months up until now. Warranty is over as well, so I'm stuck with it
Not sure if it's an ios10.1 issue or just a coincidence that it started happening to this phone too right after upgrading.
And the moon landing was fake. C'mon, no product is free from faults, especially when you're trying to produce 50 millions of them. These used to go for at least two years, but I wouldn't put it past C[r]ook & co. to force people to upgrade every year by putting in inferior batteries.

I am thinking if it was fixable with an patch, Apple would have released one by now.
As soon as I can get my hands on a 7+ 128GB, silver I will buy one and 'recycle' this one.
Hi guys. I have the same exact problem with my iphone 6s 64gb that you are having!!
Mine shuts off at 30 and even 40% of battery left. When i plug in the cable it comes back with the same % as before shutting off. After like 1 minute it shuts off again. All this again and again if i dont keep the plug in or i put it in battery saving mode: if i do that the phone keep running until 1% (and remains at 1% for like 30 minutes??)
I tried calibration and i will even try restore but i see from you it doesn't resolve a thing. So what can we do? How Apple is not doing anything about it? :/
(sorry for my english guys)
for you guys who are having these kinds of problems, do the phones usually die when you are outdoors?
i have very similar issues with my 6s and i've noticed that the phone turning off typically happens when the phone is exposed to the cold outside for an extended period of time. i know the 6s has a recommended operating range of above 32 degrees, but i have had this issue even when the temperature is around 40 degrees.
what i'm noticing is that once the phone is exposed to the cold for around 10-15 minutes, the phone will sometimes die out of nowhere (I've seen with battery life anywhere from 10% to 50%) and when i try to turn it on, it shows the battery as empty. but...as soon as i plug the phone back in, the battery will show up with percentage that the battery died at. and the issue is very frequent especially during the winter. any given week, i'd say the phone will die prematurely 3 times usually when i'm outside going from work. i have had iPhones since iPhone 3G and i've never had batteries this sensitive to cold.
Gonna check out the Genius Bar tomorrow and see what they can do.
Thanks, guess I better use Image Capture and all my 3rd party iphone apps to pull as much data as I can and then gnaw away at it.
