So how many people here planning on going to Apple or carrier store on Friday? I know I will.
I was hoping to see if I can pick one up doing the online reservation after the 16th and cancel this one. Lost all hope we will see our phones on launch day.
I can't remember the last time I pre-ordered and got the phone on launch day. Wait, because it only worked with the 5, sadly.
The 7 my husband ordered on 9/11 thru att has a shipping date to arrive before 3pm this Friday. Ironically, he never even wanted to upgrade to the 7 and is perfectly happy with his 5.
Yea, this Friday is definitely out of the question. If we can get delivery by next Friday I will be thrilled, but not getting my hopes up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I'd rather keep my expectations low haha
I'm in this group as well. Year's past I have stood in line and even camped out once (iPhone 6 Plus Big Screen)... neither will ever happen again, getting up at 3:00am I'm still willing to do...lol. I still wish I could have it Friday!

Unfortunately I'm in the same boat. Pre-orderd my iPhone 7 Plus 32GB Matte black on the release date (9 September, around 9:13am (GMT +2). The status is still holding at ''Processing Items'' and my creditcard hasn't been charged yet...
I'm thinking about heading to a local store either this Saturday or Sunday.
If I magically find the phone I am looking for, could the order I placed through apple.com be canceled given that I am doing the Apple payment plan this year?
If I had payed for it outright, this wouldn't be an issue.
The apple payment plan has me Wondering however.

The app store on iPhone kept crashing and telling me to try again later during checkout. Ended up getting 3 orders through somehow for the same 256gb black 7 Plus, all 3 showing the 27-29 range.
Then Apple wouldn't let me view the "orders" until about 8am, canceled the last two and kept the first one that went through hoping it would get here first. I was able to order my mother's gold 128gb 7 Plus with no problems on the website once I could get through, 16th delivery date.

I have this same question. If I found a phone in store and cancelled the preorder, would it also cancel the approved IUP loan or can they update it to reflect the different phone? I wouldn't want to reapply with another hard credit check.
Unless you got one ordered for pickup there will be few to no 7's for walk ins. There are also no Jet Blacks, period.
Order confirmation came in at 12:11 AM PST. Was hoping to get it this Friday since I leave for a red eye flight that evening for my vacation. Now I have to set some type of vacation hold with UPS that may cost me extra if it delivers while I'm out. This is a bummer, but kind of expected.
