The flight from Incheon Korea is now in the air. My UPS tracking doesn't show a departure scan (yet).

At this point, as soon as someone can confirm that they have a departure scan from Incheon, many of us here will know if they are going to get their phone tomorrow or not. I assume the scan will take an hour or so to post.

This year is definitely a departure from the norm as far as iPhone launches go.

Very few phones, UPS planes avoiding typhoons, shipments sitting in departure cities for up to 3 or 4 days...

A mere 22 minutes after preorders officially started is when I got a confirmation email.

A mere 22 minutes and a phone that will be here 5 days after launch day. It's rare to see it this bad and the only reason I am even remotely upset is the fact that I changed my ATT billing address to my sister's house in Ohio while on vacation.

Gotta fly back to Florida Wednesday the 21st at 6pm and the ATT 7Plus 256 Black is supposed to deliver that day. Will have it held for pickup at the local hub which is only open 9-11am, and then 2-6pm. Gotta love O-H!

Logistical landmine this year.

Yeah, this is very similar to my complaint about how apple does these preorders. I usually end up traveling *a lot* around September/October ... So the place I would need it shipped to today is different from next week which is different from the week after.

I had the same problem last year, and the same problem the year before. It looks like this year will work out okay though.

Not necessarily. My phone left Louisville at 4:55 am this morning and is on the truck and out for delivery today. I'm in the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex.
It all depends on the times and frequency for flights to your local hub. I got into Louisville at 1:45 but they didn't do the import scan until 3:34, which was 45 minutes after the only overnight flight to Denver. The next flight isn't until 3:12PM today. If you don't see a departure scan from KY by the time you wake up tomorrow then you might get the dreaded "Exception" alert.

I've come to eat my crow. I would have bet money that all of us with phones sitting in ZhengZhou yesterday would get deliveries today.

Now I'm sitting here with no delivery date and a phone that may or may not have left China. Oh well, can't be right all the time!

My iPhone also arrived in Korea this morning. There is only one flight going to Alaska today arriving at 12:12 PM AKDT time, 1:12 PM Pacific Time, 2:12PM Mountain, 3:12 PM CT, 4:12 PM EST. That flight is UPS99. Hopefully our phones are on there and we get an updated status update. That same plane (UPS99) is scheduled to leave Alaska to Louisville, KY at 3:08 PM AKDT time, 4:08 PM Pacific. 5:08 PM Mountain time, 6:08 PM Central, 7:08 PM Eastern. ARRIVING at Louisville, KY at 12:49 AM Eastern Time. 11:49 PM Central, 10:49 PM Mountain, 9:49 PM Pacific.

If our phones are not on that plane, we are not getting them tomorrow. Good Luck everyone.

EDIT: My phone is on the UPS99 to Alaska. Just got the departure status at 10:34

In all fairness, the Apple site DOES list 9/23 as the delivery date... Maybe they know something UPS doesn't??? :)

My phone shipped on Sunday, and just earlier today arrived in Korea. Weird how it took two days to go such a short distance. I was slated for delivery on the 21st, but according to both Apple and the UPS tracking information, I've been bumped back to the 22nd.
Anyone else have this happen? I wonder what's going on.

I've had dates all over the place. Apple still has mine as 9/27-9/29. UPS started out at 9/20, moved to 9/21 yesterday and "we have not a clue" this morning lol! Meanwhile, I've gotten tracking updates stating that my phone has moved 5 times...within the same city

This is all such comedy! Someone posted earlier that the UPS planes have been hijacked. Maybe he's right and our phones are sitting in Yemen right now :p

Does anyone know if you can have your phone routed to a UPS store? My hub is really far, but I have a UPS store right by my house.

That way, I don't have to keep changing my plans every time my delivery date changes.
